    April 2010 Sleevers!

Hello Sleeve Family, I had my surgery on April 12th 2010 and have lost 53 pounds> It has been a while since I been on and have not paid much attention to my weight loss. I lost my mom and life has not been to happy. Hopefully, I will get back on track. I also am having lots of hair loss, I was wondering if it will grow back?
  2. I will be having vsg on april 12th, can some please send me a list of vitamins, nicer tasting protien drinks, and tell me if we can drink zero as a form of liguids? Just reading all the success stories makes me more and more excited about my weight loss to come. My many attempts of dieting has failed by keeping the weight off.
  3. Juarez is to dangerous to go into, I would suggest to read the news of recent murders, along with the stories of cartel.....

    Is it possible

I recently had my six month follow up and complained to my doc that the weight loss is slow but as we went over my diet she calculated that my protein intake was deficient she decided that I up my protein by two shakes a day and I did, I lost 2 pounds after doing it. I kinda got lost in thinking what I was eating was enough but in order to lose you have to eat. I told her I can only eat what I can fit and thats when she put me on the shakes. Hope this helps someone.......
  5. It's been a while since I took a look in the mirror to look at myself without the fear of seeing the damage I've done to my body. I would avoid or barely glance because I knew I would only be disgusted with how I looked, and avoid any type of cameras. I'm sure there are some out there that understand where i'm coming from, but today I decided that in order to be successful in my journey It has to begin with loving myself just where I am today. My weight is not coming off as fast as most but it is coming off, I don't see any drastic change but I want to let you know that when I looked in the mirror my extra chin was gone, my neck looked smaller, my face is slim, "Oh mirror, mirror is that really me?" and it's only the begining of my weight loss journey........ Be encouraged today, be patient and love yourself again.
  6. I've noticed that the pigment of my skin on my tummy is getting dark. Can anyone comment or share if they are having the same experience as me??

    Ugh...

I had my surgery April 12, and my temp started to rise then the nurse told me to start breating in to this plastic gadget with balls measuring the air i was bringing into my lungs, it is important to do those breathing excercises. Once I started it my temp went back to normal. I also walked around the nursing station. Wish you a speedy recovery and i'll save your spot on the losers bench.
  10. Thank you for all the responses, wow I'm bound to find one now.
  11. Hello Sleever family, I DID IT!!!! I DID IT!!!! OMG! I have never been so excited to be a loser in my life :lol0: I had my surgery on April 12th went home the next day, no drain of any sort. I had my surgery at Kaiser Wt LA for those who are interested in about Kaiser. It was in and out. I had a little pain but the nurses seen to it that you were always comfortable and nausea under control the whole time. I am walking over a mile. At this time im trying to make the transfer from Clear liquids to solid liquids but it seems that my sleeve is still to sensitive cuz i get the sqirts :blushing:. (I will keep inmind of what Tiffkins said about never trusting a fart) I can eat cream of wheat with lac milk and yogurt but as far as the protien solid dirnks im having a bit o a problem. Any pointers plus i can't find a solid drink i really like, I tried muscle mile lite..... sicker then a dog..... If u have a favorite one please let me know. I Love you Sleever family..........
  12. "don't you feel like you're cheating by having surgery?" comment: aww hello! geez my tiny ass must be looking good. Don't worry sistha I don't want your man :thumbup1:. I'm not a cheater..... I don't think........
  13. Hello Sleever Family, Well, tomorrow is my day to be sleeved and im so excited to start a new life. I would like to thank all of you who encouraged me and responded to my post. Just to give u a heads up about my husband, he took a week off work to be with me and he"s coming around and being more supportive. Today im on liquids and im not really hungry so that's a plus. I covet your prayers.
  14. Roja, my dr just said for me to drink liquids on sunday but nothing after midnight. But im going to do some drinks anyway and no red meat this week. i seen on youtube of a girl that suffered lots of pain and didn't know why after a couple of days she vomited which she said it could of been stool that was possibly trapped. once she threw it up she was fine. its important to follow the diets before and after so we keep our suffering to a minimum. i am excited for both of us. what hospital r u having ur surgery?
  15. You will be in my prayers too, sorry to see this is happening...
  16. can anyone comment on how their relationships with their husbands have been after wls vsg? I haven't even had my sleeve and my husband is already telling me he is not going to let me out of the house. Oh please tell me that doesn't happen. I have been fighting the weight demon for a long time and im finally getting the tool to get it off . Im not even sure that if a man would pay attention to me if id notice. :lol0: In fact i don't even remember when one looked at me.
  17. Tiff, I don't understand his insecurity since we have been married for 33 yrs, my youngest son has moved out last week and im ready for a new me. My surgery is scheduled for April 12th and Im so excited. I was trying to post my pic in my profile but its not working.. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my concern it truly built my courage... thanks again

Be encouraged, im so happy for you, i wish u a speedy recovery and i pray away all the scared feelings. The best is yet to come.
  23. Thank you i'll look it up..
  24. I went through kaiser but at orientation they will schedule you after you completed the diabetes class once that is complete they will ask you to sign up for the wls class and then give you a date to begin your 12 week class. i finished my class in November and met with the surgeon in January 2010 then they put me on a surgery waiting list for 2 more months and now scheduled for surgery on April 12. My initial referal from my dr for wls was in Feb of last year... it has taken a little over a year..... when you get in the class you cannot miss because they will hold up ur paperwork and not submit it to the surgeon until completed along with your food logs. i hope that give you an idea..... i went through kaiser bellflower
