I too would get in a support group and if I didn't have to have the bad choices in the house they would be stripped from the kitchen, I have the snaks for the grandgirls but I have to put them away in the cabinet and immerse myself in this web site and OH for support and walk.I'm only 7 weeks out tho and still in the honeymoon phase. You are strong and you can succeed, hugs to you! Should I go through with it?
cwalker replied to Sarah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I've have always been 5'9 and 250 was my highest weight. I have dieted all my adult life and rhuematoid arthritis and hypertention didnt help. In 7 weeks I have lost 36 lbs and can walk 3 times the distance I could pre-surgery but I am 53 yrs old. If I could say one thing to you it would be to take control of your health and enjoy the years ahead of you to the fullest, it's an amazing journey and the surgey is not bad at all. Carla:thumbup: -
my one and only fear/question re sleeve...hi, im new here.
cwalker replied to NY Lou's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had a BBq with friends and everyone moaning in delight over the many dishes and at first I was sad but I put my fork down and talked to friends then picked it up and took a bite drawing my meal out for the 20 minutes and when all was said and done my friends were miserable full and I was fine. It'll be a adjustment but you will br up for it, you'll do fine!!:001_wub: Carla -
I think I found the key for rockin my sleeve, no magic- it's exercise. I upped the walking and broke my stall, down 4 lbs.Roja, keep trying to get protein in.It is so important. :001_wub:

Yay for you...you did so well and you've started your sleeve :thumbup:journey,walk,sip,rest..take care of you! Carla -
Did your salad have any protein in it? It sounds like you're not getting enough protein dense meals to me. I was told we could eat lettuce but spinach leaves were better for us and to concentrate on protein, then vegetables, fruit and lastly bread.Do you belong to www.myfitnesspal.com it really helps to track what your daily totals are. Good Luck!!:confused1:

I Walk everyday and play with the grandgirls soo steady on I go.Thanks for replying I didnt know anyone else had the empty feeling..but glad I'm normal.lol:001_rolleyes:

Mary, are you getting excited? you only have a week or so to go.yay! -
It's ok to be nervous and you are gonna do fine, it's kinda surreal after wanting it so long and wham it's here. Use the time to get organized, make your broth, I made a few casseroles for the first week home. shop for a few sizes at Goodwill. I went to a major retail dept store and bought new jeans and 2 pairs capri's and now they come off without unzipping and it's only been 6 weeks so I know I'm going to resale shops for next size. Good Luck. I've had surgeries and this one was the easiest.
-
That's great Andrea!! I too had 3 or 4 bites of ribeye and it was good. You are doing great!! I'm still in a stall but hoping it'll break in next few days.
-
OMG..Breezy you feel the hunger/emptiness too? Thank you for posting that-I was thinking my surgery wasn't normal, I feel the emptiness and know I need to eat. Are you doing 3 meals with a snak or no snak? I guess my metabolism is so screwed up with dieting all my life that it's just gonna take time. My hubby still eats his southern home cooking, is not interested in dieting and I don't want to eat his way but the loss isSLOW...guess I need to lose slowly, healthy but it seems to be stuck BUT I can take my caprei's off without unziping.lol

You have so many great answers,I'm only 6 weeks out but I can honestly say I have not missed eating large quanties. I enjoy going to resturants with hubby and we talk alot more, enjoying our date night.lol This surgey is wonderful tool and gives you self esteem to suceed in your w-loss journey.
