    I have been sleeved!

Thank y'all for the kind words and well wishes. I wish you luck on the 15th of April, Change4TheBetter2010. And Lee, I hope I'm able to tolerate kimchi again someday....would break my heart if I could never have it again as I love that stinky stuff lol. I've been doing full liquids today and had runny Malt O Meal that sat well, but tried some cream of broccoli Soup that my tummy no likey. So, I may try some plain Korean yogurt tomorrow, which is a lot thinner than American yogurt. Other than that, been getting in my Water pretty well and I've had a pretty good day.:001_unsure:

  6. Congratulations on your many successes! You are truly radiant.... and yes hooker boots are fun, looking forward to mine later. Thanks for being such an inspiration to me and so many others.
  7. Congratulations on such a wonderful milestone!
  8. Hi all. Well, I was sleeved on March 8th and spent one night in the ICU. I was in the military hospital here and had pretty good care overall. The only negatives I experienced in the hospital were that I got hiccups once during my first walk (painful), and an IV infiltration in my right hand on the second night, which was very painful and made my hand look like something out of a sci fi movie. Other than that, no leaks were detected during the tests and I was sent home on Thursday the 11th. I've rested and walked but I'm still getting used to sipping. I haven't really experienced nausea or excess gas, just a bit of crampiness here and there. I love, love, love my heating pad. I've been on clears since Wednesday and will be starting full liquids tomorrow, which will be a welcome change, albeit a small one. But the best part of it all is that I haven't been hungry. Of course I've had head hunger from the smells of my family's meals, but not genuine physical hunger. I know I'm in the very early stages of this new journey, but I can tell that I made the right decision for me. Thanks for the support and I'll keep y'all posted! Kim

    My Username says it all!

Hi Kara, I'm still new to this forum, but I have found it to be the best place to find answers to any questions about vsg, a great place to vent, and a good group of supportive folks who genuinely want to see others succed with the sleeve. I wish you much success on your journey! Kim

    Before and After

    Fantastic! Congratulations to you!
  14. First of all, I apologize for the long post. I had my pre-op appointment yesterday and spent most of the afternoon at the military hospital answering questions, checking yes or no boxes, signing my name and dating page after page after page etc....but i felt good about doing all of it. I felt good knowing that I was taking control of my health and that I would eventually have a tool that would help me learn to only feed my body what it needs. I was at the hospital for over 5 hours, but all in all I had a great day....... But this morning was different. I had so many emotions going through my head. So many feelings of inadequacy (am I strong enough to do this), was I making the right decision and the dreaded "I could lose the weight on my own if i really tried", which I know is not true. I have lost and regained the same weight since I was a freshman in high school, and I've given enough money to the weight loss industry and their snake oil. The promising "lifestyle change" solutions haven't worked much either. Today I cried. I felt anxious and nervous and terrified and a lot of other things...But I think I am trying to come to terms with the fact that I've made this decision to better my life, and I plan to stick to my guns. I've never had surgery. I honestly don't know what to expect other than what I've read of other people's experiences. Okay, I feel like I'm rambling now, and must stop. Again, I apologize for the long post, I just needed to get my mojo out there and possibly get some feedback from those of you who have gone through the surgery, as I'm counting down the days. Kim
