28lbs - you're doing great babe!! Keep up the great work and enjoy the solids!!
-
Sounds like you're rocing your sleeve - 24lbs down? Thats great news.
With ref to your protein in take I found using milk which is high in protein in my shakes I can get a massive amount in that way, and get 60g protein in, in 2 shakes - my protein is 21g per 'shot' and the milk is 8.4g per 200ml.... so I'm still trying to get 2 a day in, as theres no way I can eat that much protein in mushies yet.
Glad to hear all going well for you tho... and stick with it.. it'll be SO worth it!! Kathy

Oh heck Terri.... good job you checked it out.... hope you're feeling a bit better about it now. Fingers crossed thats the only problem you'll have.

Mine was a little plastic machine, looks like a babies toy, with a tube off it. In the machine are 3 balls, you have to exhale, then with the tube in your mouth, inhale to raise the 3 balls up (they are weighted so not all that easy after surgery).
I had to do it about 4 times every half hour while in hospital. - Took a lot of puff then!!

Cutting back the portions is good preparation for post op.... good luck with your surgery - the next few days will zoom by and you'll be sleeved before you know it.

Hope it went well for you... the first 48hrs are the roughest, but they soon pass by and you'll be feeling better really quickly.
Post when you can to let us know how it went.
Good luck

Glad to hear each day is better..... I highly recommend the cushioned stomach.... especially good when laughing, or sneezing!!! That really hurts! lol
-
Good to see your story.... you got the lung ball thing too.... I felt really silly having to keep using it, but it did help! My hubby wanted me to bring it home, said we'd paid enough for it!!!
And at least you've sorted out the itch - that must be such a relief for you....take it easy and you'll feel so much better each morning.
Take care - Kathy

Thanks for letting us know Alan - I've been thinking about her all day hoping it all went well. The next 24hrs are the worst but they soon pass.....Please tell her from me 'A huge congratulations.'
I sympathise with the IV issue - I look like a junkie from the state of my arm!!
Looking forward to seeing her back on the board to report how she is doing. Shes gonna storm this one!!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery

Hi there - Congratulations! Its a tough decision to make, but you've done the hard bit and faced your demons. Just think - if you can get a grip on the panic pre op eating (which is hard I will admit) and saying goodbye to foods which you'll probably still be able to eat long term anyway, then 341 won't get any higher, and will only come down!!
Good luck with the journey - we'll look forward to reading thru your blogs and sharing it with you.

LOL - Mine wasn't too bad tasting, strawberry flavoured.
But I'll warn you... when you feel the need to pass this stuff... take a tip and do it in a public loo.....Mine took ages to go thru the system... as it went all hard! LMAO - my husband found it so funny! (But men are like that!).
Good luck

Hi there
Congrats on your surgery firstly... the big step is over and done with. Secondly did you not get info from a nutritionist at all?
You're 10 days out from surgery I think, so far too soon to be on solids.
If you do a search on the board you'll find several dietary guidelines which might help.
As a rough idea I had to do:
First 10 days post op - clear liquids (which included skimmed milk, no added sugar fruit juice but not citrus ones), clear soups and Optifast shakes.
Days 10 to 20 - Full liquids - soups with no lumps in yoghurts and all of the above.
The next 7 days - Mushies and all of the above
Day 28 for the next 7 days - Soft foods - chicken, fish, eggs, and all of the above.
Day 35 onwards - normal foods but still no alcohol until 2nd month, and no gassy liquids or caffeine.
I hope this helps - it is just a guide and you'll see various different ones on the forum, but at least you'll get an idea of roughly where you are.
Don't over do your sleeve, you've worked hard to get where you are and don't want to risk a leak or anything getting caught in it and infection setting in.
Good luck.
