Way to go Tiff! You are an inspiration to us all!
You look great!

I am the same way! I am one week out today. My Smarty Pants son told me I looked more pregnant now than I did before. Needless to say I almost knocked his block off! I have lost about 10 pounds since surgery and my pants are just as tight!

I shall have to look for this at the grocery. I have never noticed it before. My guess is that we probably can't get it in Alberta. As with so many other things you guys get in US that we don't have . That's why I am happier than a coonhound on a bare leg that the dollar is finally close to par 'cause I get to go shopping in Great Falls again in the summer!

:thumbup:You will be the Belle of the ball my dear! Very nice post girlie. You are a true inspiration!

Well it's so hard to believe I go home tomorrow! All the things I was worried about seem so far away now. lol I cannot believe how easy this has been so far. A little pain but nothing that has not been manageable. I cannot however crush my pills and swallow them. It makes me gag so bad! I might just have to not take them for a while. I have an appointment Monday for my PCP so I will chat with him about it. I even hate those darn sublingual pills you have to put under your tongue. They gag me. Oh well. Better days ahead. In those size 14 jeans!

I am in Mexico right now as we speak. I got my sleeve done on Tuesday. Now if it was a bogus surgery I would still be hungry would I not? And I am not hungry at all. If you could meet Dr. Aceves and his staff you would not feel this way. They are top notch professionals. And I saw my sleeve on the xray today and watched the contrast go down the sleeve. And the pain I have felt is more from gas pains. Plus there are no nerves in your stomach to make you feel like you just had 3/4 of it cut out. It's for real trust me.

Sorry to hear your having troubles loser. Hope all works out for you.

Thank you ladies for the well wishes. I emailed my daughter tonight and told her to take my scales home. I don't want to be a "scale whore". lol Having a bit of insomnia so went for a walk then on here to kill some time. Hubby is sleeping like a baby with his cpap machine. It is very quiet here so there shouldn't be any reason to not sleep, other than the fact I can't seem to get comfy. Well back to try some more zzz's. More tomorrow.

Hello all. I had surger this morning at 10. Everything went great and I feel fine. I have no pain as of yet. I am walking on the hour and washing my mouth with Water as I am very, very thirsty. Water tomorrow. Yay! I haven't had any food since last night and I am not hungry at all. Very tired and groggy. They give me meds when I need them. Met two other Canadian girls who are here. All the doctors are wonderful and have spent lots of time going over things with me. A very positive experiencs so far!

Thanks Tiff.Anna, mswendy, pnw, lapgyrl, and barb. I am just sitting in my room at the hospital waiting for surgery. I am not so nervous right now. Must be the afteraffects of the ativan. :001_smile: Had a wonderful sleep. Going to keep my watch on so I can call for my meds every four hours. The doctors are wonderful and Lucy and Yolanda are sweethearts. The room is very comfortable. I already met a fellow sleever from Ontario. Getting kind of thirsty though hope they hurry with the iv. lol See you all on the other side of sleevedom! And by the way my pre op diet was good. 250 down to 239! Woohoo!

Here in Mexicali! Beautiful resort and very good last meal at the Italian Restaurant! Tests were all done very professionally and the hospital looks great! Very nice doctors and nurses as well. Off to take my ativan and have a last sip of Water and then it's lights out. Until tomorrow. Or maybe the next day.

We made it to San Diego and did a little shopping today. Actually found some Protein bullets and some Isopure at a Nutrition store. Old Town is really nice. We ate at the Rockin' Baha. The only place to eat when you are on a protein diet. A bucket of shrimp, lobster, chicken and steak! lol Each day closer I get a little more nervous. I find myself saying "What the heck are you doin' girl?" Then I remind myself it's for my own good and I calm down. Still very nervous about the whole anesthetic recovery room deal. I am more worried about that than complications. Glad to have hubby here with me. More later. Going to get to bed for the big day of tests tomorrow.

Hi Dalasgirl. I will be there from the 26th-30th. My surgery is the 27th. So you will have surgery and I will be leaving the next day. Is anyone accompanying you? And how is your high Protein low carb diet doing? Or have you started yet?

Way to go Kathy and Ruth! It is good to hear you both had a positive experience despite the earthquake aftershocks. My family is very worried about the fact they had an earthquake and that I will be sleeved there April 27th. I shall tell them your galant stories of walking the halls during aftershocks!

Good luck to you Citygal. Hope things go well for you. I go there on April 25 for my surgery. I was wondering how things were down there but if you're going things must be good. Happy sleeving.
-
Well I'm super nervous now that there has been an earthquake there. Hopefully everything gets straightened out in 3 weeks.
Pnw218: I used to live in Calgary and left the big city for the country. I've never been to Seattle. I've been to Spokane lots for shopping. I am hoping our dollar stays at par until I've lost all my weight so I can go on a huge clothing shop! Might not be able to afford the gas to get there by the looks of things but oh well.

Thanks for keeping us updated Kathy. You must be beside yourself with worry. I know I am, and I don't go for another 3 weeks. Glad your friend Scott is okay and thank him for giving us a full account of it.
-
I can't even imagine how you are feeling right now Kathy. I don't have surgery there for 3 weeks and I'm scared! I have heard there is no power in Mexicali still this morning. And they have to sterilize basically the whole hospital. I hope the people there for surgery are okay. I would be scared spitless! I hope things go okay for you and I selfishly hope things will be okay in 3 weeks.

Thank you for your support Firefly and Fabby50. Hoping the time flies by fast and it's all over before I know it.

I finally booked my surgery last week! My husband and I will be flying into San Diego and then on to Mexicali for Vertical Sleeve Surgery April 27th. I am scared and excited all at the same time! :thumbup1:

I am seven weeks out and I eat tomatoes all the time. Seeds skin and all with no trouble at all. As with any food I just make sure to chew them well.
