  1. Hi Terry. Your pictures are awesome. Good for you girl! Glad everything went well for you! I haven't been on here lately. I am not on the computer much in the summer time. I wanted to post pics too but can't seem to figure it out. Or find the time to sit down and figure it out. Well take care and happy losing! :)

    Tomatoes after VSG?

I am seven weeks out and I eat tomatoes all the time. Seeds skin and all with no trouble at all. As with any food I just make sure to chew them well.

    1 year out today

Way to go Tiff! You are an inspiration to us all! You look great!
  4. Hi Terri,

Sorry I didn't answer you. I don't get notified of visitor messages by my email. Just private messages. I have been doing well. I have been busy since last Friday. I made 7 Saskatoon pies and 2 dozen butter tarts on Friday for a Spring Market and tea that a group i belong to put on. It sucks big time to make all those pies and tarts and not be able to have one little wee taste. lol But I survived. I just got back from Calgary today. Was there a few days for docs. appointments. Eating cream soups, applesauce, and protein shakes now. Mmmm I found a protein shake I actually love. Tastes like melted ice cream. :) So glad to hear you have a date for surgery. You must be so darn relieved. Now the worry will set in. lol. Well you take care Terri and maybe we will talk in VSG chat.

    See you.

    Post Op Abdominal Swelling

I am the same way! I am one week out today. My smarty pants son told me I looked more pregnant now than I did before. Needless to say I almost knocked his block off! I have lost about 10 pounds since surgery and my pants are just as tight! Wendy
  6. I shall have to look for this at the grocery. I have never noticed it before. My guess is that we probably can't get it in Alberta. As with so many other things you guys get in US that we don't have . That's why I am happier than a coonhound on a bare leg that the dollar is finally close to par 'cause I get to go shopping in Great Falls again in the summer!
  7. We made it to San Diego and did a little shopping today. Actually found some protein bullets and some isopure at a Nutrition store. Old Town is really nice. We ate at the Rockin' Baha. The only place to eat when you are on a protein diet. A bucket of shrimp, lobster, chicken and steak! lol Each day closer I get a little more nervous. I find myself saying "What the heck are you doin' girl?" Then I remind myself it's for my own good and I calm down. Still very nervous about the whole anesthetic recovery room deal. I am more worried about that than complications. Glad to have hubby here with me. More later. Going to get to bed for the big day of tests tomorrow. Wendy
  8. :thumbup:You will be the Belle of the ball my dear! Very nice post girlie. You are a true inspiration!
  9. Well it's so hard to believe I go home tomorrow! All the things I was worried about seem so far away now. lol I cannot believe how easy this has been so far. A little pain but nothing that has not been manageable. I cannot however crush my pills and swallow them. It makes me gag so bad! I might just have to not take them for a while. I have an appointment Monday for my PCP so I will chat with him about it. I even hate those darn sublingual pills you have to put under your tongue. They gag me. Oh well. Better days ahead. In those size 14 jeans!
  10. Hi Wendy, Did you go to Mexicali for your surgery too? Thanks for the nice comment you left about my picture. I have had to force myself to smile while so overweight. I hate having my picture taken. I am hoping to change that. lol

    Now I'm Worried!

I am in Mexico right now as we speak. I got my sleeve done on Tuesday. Now if it was a bogus surgery I would still be hungry would I not? And I am not hungry at all. If you could meet Dr. Aceves and his staff you would not feel this way. They are top notch professionals. And I saw my sleeve on the xray today and watched the contrast go down the sleeve. And the pain I have felt is more from gas pains. Plus there are no nerves in your stomach to make you feel like you just had 3/4 of it cut out. It's for real trust me.
  12. Hey band. Havent seen you around lately. Did you get your surgery booked yet? I had mine on Tuesday and so far so good. I am not hungry at all. Have been drinking apple juices and chicken broth. Can't stand the taste of water anymore. Wierd. It happened to Dr. Campos too. Maybe some lemon in it when I get home.

    See you,

    Wendy

  14. Hello all. I had surger this morning at 10. Everything went great and I feel fine. I have no pain as of yet. I am walking on the hour and washing my mouth with water as I am very, very thirsty. Water tomorrow. Yay! I haven't had any food since last night and I am not hungry at all. Very tired and groggy. They give me meds when I need them. Met two other Canadian girls who are here. All the doctors are wonderful and have spent lots of time going over things with me. A very positive experiencs so far! Wendy
  15. Hey tide. Just thought I would let you know I got the surgery and all is well. Just some gas pain but nothing unmanageable. I am starting to feel pretty good and could use some broth but for now just apple juice and some gross chamomile tea. :) I go home on Friday morning. All the best to you and your wife.

    Surgery Today In Mexicali

Thank you ladies for the well wishes. I emailed my daughter tonight and told her to take my scales home. I don't want to be a "scale whore". lol Having a bit of insomnia so went for a walk then on here to kill some time. Hubby is sleeping like a baby with his cpap machine. It is very quiet here so there shouldn't be any reason to not sleep, other than the fact I can't seem to get comfy. Well back to try some more zzz's. More tomorrow. Wendy
  18. Thanks Tiff.Anna, mswendy, pnw, lapgyrl, and barb. I am just sitting in my room at the hospital waiting for surgery. I am not so nervous right now. Must be the afteraffects of the ativan. :001_smile: Had a wonderful sleep. Going to keep my watch on so I can call for my meds every four hours. The doctors are wonderful and Lucy and Yolanda are sweethearts. The room is very comfortable. I already met a fellow sleever from Ontario. Getting kind of thirsty though hope they hurry with the iv. lol See you all on the other side of sleevedom! And by the way my pre op diet was good. 250 down to 239! Woohoo! Wendy from the great white north :sad0:
  19. Hey Jess. Just thought I would slip you a note to tell you I made it to Mexicali okay. Had a wonderful "last supper". And I didn't even stuff myself! Eating slow is going to be a challenge. lol Had all my tests done today and then went for a swim this afternoon at the resort. I am being picked up at 7 a.m. so I am hoping the surgery is first thing in the morning. I will try to post something tomorrow night if I am able. I guess i just missed you tonight in the chat room daisy told me. How are you doing anyway? Haven't talked to you for so long. I was very busy the last few days at home and didnt' get on here much. How is the cream soups going? Let me know how you are girl. Talk to you soon.

    Your Canadian friend,

    Wendy

  20. Here in Mexicali! Beautiful resort and very good last meal at the Italian Restaurant! Tests were all done very professionally and the hospital looks great! Very nice doctors and nurses as well. Off to take my ativan and have a last sip of water and then it's lights out. Until tomorrow. Or maybe the next day. Wendy
  21. Hi Dalasgirl. I will be there from the 26th-30th. My surgery is the 27th. So you will have surgery and I will be leaving the next day. Is anyone accompanying you? And how is your high protein low carb diet doing? Or have you started yet? Wendy

    WOOOWHOOO!!! One Week Out!

Way to go Kathy and Ruth! It is good to hear you both had a positive experience despite the earthquake aftershocks. My family is very worried about the fact they had an earthquake and that I will be sleeved there April 27th. I shall tell them your galant stories of walking the halls during aftershocks! Wendy
  23. I am glad you are okay Jessica. I was having trouble with my %^&* computer and couldn't talk to you. I just saw you said you were okay and that's it. So I am glad you messaged me. I am so glad to hear you spent another day in the hospital. I sure wouldn't have wanted to come home in one day. Hope you are doing better and rest lots and we'll talk sometime. Don't know why the email didn't work. Oh well see you and take care girl!

  24. I finally booked my surgery last week! My husband and I will be flying into San Diego and then on to Mexicali for Vertical Sleeve Surgery April 27th. I am scared and excited all at the same time! :thumbup1:
  25. Hey gr8pyrmom. I was reading Tiffykins post and looked at your name and was trying to figure it out when I saw your beauty laying down in the picture. Then I went 'Duh. Great Pyrneese" lol I also have a gr8pyr named Lucy. She is an angel from heaven! We rescued her from the SPCA and she has been the best dog ever! We live in the country and she looks after us by keeping the coyotes away. She loves to come into the house in the winter for snuggles by the fire. Aren't they the best? Gentle Giants! Good luck with your weight loss journey. I start mine on April 27. :)
