    Just been sleeved

Its been a month today since surgery and my weight has stalled at 91. No further movement over the past two weeks. Have been on near normal diet, though do feel heavy if I eat something too sweet or a little overcooked/spicy. Have kept food fairly simple so far though am really concerned about the sticky weight...no further movement. Hope I didnt go all the way just for 10 Kgs.

    I'm losing my hair!!!!!

:sad0:Is this hair loss a hundred percent phenomenon? Do all the people who have gotten the surgery done experienced that? I already have thinning hair and with this effect i would have to stay indoors now for my hair loss.:confused1:

Day 17. Its a mix bag so far, there is a persistent weakness in the body and pain in incisions which is still restricting movement. Not able to run, talk, walk or perform daily functions as normally as I did prior to the operation but then that is what you get for not having enough control on your hunger otherwise to control your weight. I am down to 92 kgs today (-10 kgs) and do feel good about it. Went to office for the first time post operation and felt more normal than sitting ideal at home. There is a significant discomfort in the body, apart from the pains, cannot get down much. Acid refluxes are constant and there is heaviness in the chest. Hope all this is worth it. Office junta did point out that you seem to have lost weight...I havent really disclosed the reason I got the operation done. Have used varied reasons to justify my going on leave for this long. Anyone else having kept the proceedure a secret is welcome to share the ideas :001_tongue:. All the best to all joining in!!
  4. All the very best Lee!! You will come out of this with flying colors minus all the excess lbs....feel free to write in for any help you need through this! We are here for you.:001_smile:

Day 13. Feeling much better today in terms of the pain in incisions. Can move around much better. On the other hand, acid refluxes are much worse. I haven't been able to sleep properly for the past two days, with acidic and nauseating feelings coupling in the night to make things worse. I do not wish to go on meds thus have been avoiding taking any anti-acid pills but its not a feeling to have the acids rushing to your throat all the time. Had a thick Soup yesterday - spiced it up a bit with pepper and chilly, was a little tough to take down but got okay in the longer run. I seem to have lost some inches, though my face has become yellowish - from red I always was. Need to nourish myself a little better I guess. Drove for the first time after surgery a couple of days ago, to get the bandage refreshed on the drain site. This incision is more or less healed already so happy about that - got a quick small bandage done. So far okay...newer battle with food starting...looking forward to join work on Monday. :biggrin0::001_smile:
  6. Hi Bitsy,

I think the all we can do for the excess skin is start with exercise (small weights and build up) as soon as possible. I've heard it has a lot to do with genetics, age, working out, how long/much weight you have to lose. Good luck!

    Prilosec vs. Prevacid

Day 9 post surgery. Having major acid refluxes today - first time after surgery...will I continue having it? or will this ever go away. I had chicken sweet corn soup yesterday for dinner...is it this choice of food that migh have caused reflux or has acidity now become a part of my life for the rest of my life....:blushing: Urgent help needed.

Day 9. Woke up with a pain in the stomach..both in the incision and in the inside of the stomach. Called the doc, he said hang on for a day more and then contact back. The pain will subside over a period of time but I guess will take a little more time for me. I want to be able get up and move around as before. Hate having to be confined to the bed.

Thinoneday....thanks for your note....in the shorter term I am just waiting for this thinggy to get over. But do you think the journey therafter is even more painful? Or do you think lost inches and a more beautiful us compensates for not being able to eat a plateful. Not that anything can be done about it now...just wanting to be better prepared.

Day 8. Drain was removed. Contrary to some other experiences, it did hurt. The doc cut the stitches first which was slight painful but when the drain started coming out it was one experience. (I did not take any painkiller before getting the drain out, but it would be a good idea to do so). Drain outside was a plain pipe, though inside was a white flat perforated rubber pipe and it did look a little scary. Felt much better the moment drain came out, but it start hurting immediately after that and the pain still hasn't subsided. Also, I got slight fever after the drain removal and though slept it off and was fine in the morning without any medication. All in all, like other pals said...it is much better after drain removal. Now the good part, I am down an additional 2 Kgs. Pains are better, slight faitigue is there, heaviness is there in the chest...am off all medication though painkiller is kept for SOS. Looking forward to losing inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:drool5:

Day 7 today. Pain on incisions is much better, I can sleep on my sides with a little more comfort than past days. The eating patterns are changing however, don't really feel like taking any more fluids in. Can also notice inch loss around the upper part of the body; feel lot less energetic than pre-op days...but as I hear it, the energy levels come back once the regular diet is started. Drain is still in, and would probably be removed tomorrow or later today. Am looking forward to the drain getting removed and much better agility and movement in the coming days. Don't like being confined to one place for this long. Rest is cool...was feeling a little cranky yesterday..more because my husband had chicken Curry for a feasty meal when I couldnt even swallow vegie soup. Hope its all worth it. Cheers!!
  12. I agree youknowit....the clothes are as snuggish as they were....only the face seems a little small to me....rest is no change in terms of inches...at least till now.
  13. Agreed Carolyn. I aint planning to buy any clothes either...would love to see the strechies get baggy :crying: So far, no inches lost but face seems a little smallish....the pink of my lips seems to have become a little dull....mabbe its the vegetable Soup and bitter pills :biggrin0:
  14. For those vsg-mates who have gotten through the journey..how much weight loss and inch loss can be expected at the following intervals: - 2 weeks - 4 weeks - 2 months - 4 months - 6 months I am 6 days post-op and cannot wait to buy new clothes. :001_tongue:
  15. I got sleeved six days ago and feel a loss of control on my bladder as compared to pre-op. Have to run to the loo immediately after there is a call. Since I am on liquid diet so its natural that there will be more calls, but not having enough control...kind of freaks me out. Any one else facing the same issue? :001_tongue:
