    Surgery On Monday!

good luck to all of you who are being sleeved on Monday, i wish you all the success in the world, and remember that the 1st few days will be worth the long term results. the vanilla, cafe mocha protein shakes from walmart pretty good. just be careful about buying stuff with alot of protein. i found that anything over 14-16 grams in a small container, usually the size of a protein bar or 11oz tastes awful. for the pureed portion of the diet, i froze soups or blended food in ice cube tray and took a couple out for meals, it worked especially when returning to work, because they thawed by lunch time.good luck ladies :aureola:
  2. the surgeon would have to repair the leak through another surgery, most likely with more staples or gluehowever, before the surgery make sure you ask your surgeon what precautions are taken to prevent leaks my surgeon did a triple staple and applied a glue substance for added protection. i have had great success and its been almost 1 year. good luck to you

    Almost A Year Out.............

youre doing awesome and its nice to have a realistic goal, because then if you get down to the docs goal its like a bonus. unfortunately i have fallen into the trap of trying to make the docs goal and that stupid little WII character on the fitness game, and i stress over the fact that i cant get the last 6lbs off, i have lost 100lbs since 2/28/11 and keep bouncing within 2-3lbs. uuuurrrrgggghhhh. i should be happy that ive gone from size 18-20 to size 6-8 (5'6") and leave it at that. after all, i was probably in grade school when i wore those sizes lol

    Almost A Year Out.............

no your not alone, my 1 year mark is coming up feb 28th and i need to drop 6lbs for that 100% goal. i know it shouldn't matter because ive already dropped 100lb, but i get bothered because i just cant seem to get those last few lbs off. my doc says most people dont get that 100% in the 1st year, so i shouldn't sweat it, i guess its a little ocd---lolenjoy the new you and best of luck in your continued success

    11 Weeks Post Op

keep up the good work, i was sleeved almost 1 year ago, 2/28/11 and ive lost 100 lbs and i contribute alot of that to the no drinking with/after the meals and just walking throughout the day, no 2-3 hours at the gym. you will get down and when you get to those smaller sizes you won't be able to stop grinning. i still get comments from people i'm around everyday that don't realize its me if they're not fully paying attention or just get a quick glance. sometimes i have to 2nd glance myself lol. good luck and happy clothes shopping
  6. i work in xray and see more complications from bypass than sleeve, having a bypass is not necessarily going to fix the problems from the sleeve
  7. sorry to hear that your sleeve isn't doing so good for you, hopefully it will get better. i have been fortunate that i have had no complications or problems except a little GERD. Good Luck.
