  1. Congrats! Our surgeries were very close to the same date. I had mine on 3/24/10. I have a similar story to you in that my body was so weak those first few weeks that all I wanted to do is stay in bed. This week I started taking a Zumba class. It's pretty hard but also fun. I have a lot more energy than I had a couple weeks ago. The weight is not coming off as fast as I have seen others come off. I have lost about 21 pounds post surgery and 20 pounds pre-op. My weight has stayed the same for the last week and a half. I'm not eating much and I'm exercising so this is puzzling to me. Only thing I can think of is that I don't eat enough which is really hard to do and I haven't been getting enough fluids in. I will try to drink more next week to see if I can get the scale moving again. I have gone down a size in pants and tops so maybe I am just losing inches for now which is fine with me. Best of luck to you and keep me posted on your progress and I will you as well!

  2. My surgery is scheduled for March 24th. It will be nice to keep track of eachother's progress. My doctor's office has all their WLS patients do a 2 week pre-op of Protein Shakes, salads and fruits and vegetables. I have really been dreading this. I start this on March 10th. I have been doing pretty good but the idea of Protein shakes for 2 weeks seems hard. Guess I will have to get used to how I will be having to eat afterwords. I know I can do it. :-)

  3. I can so relate to your post. People just don't understand that have not been struggling with obesity for the majority of their life. Someone at work asked why I am still having this surgery when I have lost 17 pounds now. Yes, I know how to lose. I have lost the same 30 pounds about 5 times in the last 5 years and always gain back more. I need this surgery to help me keep it off and I am losing now because I know that it will be the last time I will have to lose this weight. I appreciate everyone on this forum. It's nice to know you're not alone. :-)

  4. I am so happy for you! I have been reading your posts and you are truly inspiring to me. I am in the first steps of the VSG surgery process and my husband is still skeptical about it. He just smiled when I showed him your pics. He hasn't been able to hold me for over a decade... at least I haven't let him try. I am so excited about finally making this decision and can't wait to start my new life. God bless you for being such a blessing to us that are about to start our journey. Thanks for making me smile! :-)
