    Not enjoying food!!

Thanks everyone for your comments. I was sleeved 10 weeks ago. I find that I'm really restricted in the mornings. I have tried eggs, porridge, eggs benedict, crumpets, Optifast (that seemed to go down ok this morning, maybe I should stick to that...lol. I will try Tiffykins suggestion of deli meat...I went and bought some shaved turkey so that might be good...at least its good protein. I will also try Smelly Melly suggestion of Up and Go. I can drink diet coke but find its easier if its a bit flat and filled with ice to make it flatter. I was an 8-10 can a day person but now it takes most of the day to get 1 can down. Any more suggestions will be great. Thanks Michelle
  2. Hi everyone, I'm having trouble finding something to eat that interests me. My taste seems to have changed heaps. I used to enjoy yoghurt and muesli for Breakfast but now don't like the taste. Breakfast used to be my favourite meal of the day but now it seems to be the hardest one to get down. It seems strange after enjoying food and getting fat that now its harder to just find something to eat that is enjoyable and healthy. I have been quite ill with a vomiting virus this week and haven't reallly eaten in 3 days...as it won't stay down and the pain from the vomiting is not worth it. My weightloss have been quite slow as I was sleeved on 23rd Feb. Any suggestions on things? Cheers, Michelle

    panties in the OR.

Hi there, I had my surgery in Sydney Australia in February. The hospital gives you a gown and disposable panties. After the surgery, when they take you back to the room they remove the gown and the disposable panties and wash your tummy to get rid of the iodine wash. The nurses then replace your gown with a clean one. When this is being done you don't really care what they are doing as they have seem many many fat tummies...lol and you are still coming out of the anesthesia. Cheers Michelle

    Today is the first day

Hi there everyone, Thankyou for all your good wishes. I am back home now and everything went ok. I had a bit of a reaction to the anesthesia but luckily didn't vomit...there are some great drugs out there...lol. I am on pureed food now. The hospital has you on 2 days of clear fluids then you go onto free fluids, milk, pureed soups, porridge...,they are all going down ok. In fact, I feel pretty great. I have found that water is quite hard to get down but if you add a little bit of apple juice its heaps easier to swallow. I have even gone for a short walk to the shops and still felt great. Wish I had done it sooner... Cheers for now Michelle
  5. Hi everyone, Today is the day for my sleeve - 23rd February. I'm have been pretty cool and calm about all of this. I'm just looking forward to the day when I can be the real me. I have lost 6kg in the 2 weeks prior. Off to the hospital now. Catch up soon. Cheers Michelle
  6. Hi Zandria and Shylady, I'm scheduled for the 23rd February. I'm excited but still worried on how it will change my life. But I am always looking on the bright side of being thinner and not having knee pain. Also I can't wait to see the look on people's faces when I turn up looking stunning ...It will be priceless...lol I do have a bit of an reaction to the anesthesia...which is usually feeling sick but they just put stuff in your iv and you go back to sleep and feel better when you wake ( that was the case for my 2 knee surgeries) So good luck and will see how we all go....we will be stunning!!!! in a few weeks/months!!!! cheers Michelle

Hi there everyone, I have been reading all your posts over the last few months and have finally decided to have the sleeve. My date is 23rd February in Sydney. I am excited but also scared like everyone else. One thing though< I am looking forward to being normal size as I am determined to follow my diet. I have a wardrobe full on clothes size 12 - 14 and am determined to get back into them. I will be starting a pre-op diet for 2 weeks starting 7th Feb. :001_smile: Cheers Michelle
  9. Hi there, This is my first post as I went to my surgeon today and made my VSG date of 23rd Feb. I have only told my sister about this and not my parents as I know they will be full of negatives. My friend was also very worried about the consequences so I took her with me to chat to the surgeon as well. She had the opportunity to find out about what it is all about, and voice her opinions as well as hear my feelings towards my decision. She also learnt that I have researched this for 12 months. I actually troll through this site gathering information as we don't have a proper site yet in Australia so thankyou everyone for your posts. She now fully supports my decision as she understands more about it. She is a cyclist so is very fit. I know some friends/ family can be supportive and some can't...just pick who to tell.
