    Sad story :(((((

I was laid off 8 years ago from my first job out of college. At that time, I was so upset, and was really worried. I had moved from Toronto to DC just for the job. I did not know that I could negotiate my severance, and was stuck with only two months of severance pay, and I could not get unemployment. When I look back- it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I started my own business and despite the economy, I have been more successful than before. And I am so much happier writing my own check. All this to say- this is YOUR MOMENT. When the universe closes one door, a better opportunity awaits you. Carpe Diem. You have achieved a lot through this weight loss journey, and you are strong. You will do just as well in the next WONDERFUL chapter in your life. p.s. 50 is the new 20. Only less turbulent :party4:

And so we got married..... :)

Thank you for all the wonderful wishes everyone. We are settling in nicely into marriage :confused1: and it was a nice distraction from the scale.
  4. and it was absolutely lovely. Everything worked out wonderfully. Considering how 'little control' I had, I was unusually calm for a typical Type-A. We planned everything in the last two weeks. When we finally decided to elope in Napa, we had to get everything organized in two weeks. I found a dress. I found a photographer online, who recommended a friend of hers who would be our officiant. The officiant volunteered her home for the ceremony- she said there would be nice pictures. That was an understatement- her gorgeous adobe mountain property was something out of Tuscany. IT WAS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! I had someone come and do my hair and make-up (and was hella nervous about her, but she worked out so well) Our ceremony was held outside by a beautiful olive tree with my now-husband, our friend (who flew down from DC), and her son. It was intimate, but lovely- and I would not have done it any differently. 70 degree weather, gorgeous sun! We celebrated after at the Culinary Institute, and I did have some wine. We shared a tart from Bouchon instead of wedding cake. And now I am the Mrs.

    Bye Lucy.

Oh.... as a dog owner myself (my Cooper is a doggie), my heart is so sad for you. And there is a doggie heaven
  6. Hi sorry I have been gone for so long but I have been fighting Anthem BCBS for coverage for VSG.. How are you feeling.. I am so disappointed especially after they told me that I was covered

    Eloping- yeee haaaaa!!!

The CIA is such an awesome idea. We were trying to get reservations at French Laundry or one of the Michelin's but a 9 tasting menu for an already sleeved person is a tad bit impossible to handle! Will certainly check that out :wink0:

    Eloping- yeee haaaaa!!!

You guys are soooo great! Thank you for the cheers, and the advise (even MlkPas- you are so thoughtful for getting me the license info- I called and set up an appointment for monday morning) I will definitely take your suggestions and get a bouquet, maybe a cupcake to split. And I will post lots of pics so that we can toast with some Protein shakes and Pork rinds (haha- that had me on the floor laughing!!!)

    Running and carbs

I don't know what the answer is to that... but congratulations on setting an awesome goal. We will cheer you on to the marathon.
  10. Hey - just wanted to share with my lovely VST family. So my fiance and I have been engaged since August (after being together for 3.5 years). Unfortunately, I have been the most un-bridey bride out there. In the meantime, our families- (well more like mine) have been a little out of hand with the wedding planning 'thoughts'. We have family all over the world. My mum lives overseas, and INSISTS the wedding be held at her home, and with that comes the 600 guests. His parents live in Georgia and the rest of his family lives in Germany. We live in DC and have most of our friends here. As a result, even starting to think about planning this wedding has been stressful. So, my fiance has a business trip in California, and we are going to make a side trip to Napa Valley and ELOPE! I have an officiant picked, we have a nice little vineyard that we can say our vows at, I picked a photographer to get a few pictures for our 'Announcement card'. Did I miss out anything? I would love your suggestions. We have a week to go, so not a lot of time to prepare. Oh- and I picked up a plain white dress at Loehmanns for $59 bucks :thumbup1:

    Greek Yogurt

I love Oikos, but I get Fage because of the high Protein and lower carbs. I add the crystal light iced tea drink mixes - 5 calories, no carbs, no sugar. It gives it a sweet taste with a little kick.

    Lost interest

Does this happen to everyone? I will be happy NOT to be hungry. I am still taking my acid reducer, but no luck yet. I am about 6 weeks in as well.

    disgusted!

Funny, I actually liked the Nectar. I use less water as well. p.s. I also liked that it had no carbs :w00t:
  15. Thanks for getting back to me and please let me know if you take well to the welbutrin. I was on it for 2 days and couldn't eat! Everything nauseated me and my anxiety went through the roof. Since on the Remeron its the opposite when it comes to wanting to eat and I'm getting concerned that I may have to wean off it as well. I'm hoping I won't need to take any antidepressant but time will tell.
