  1. Hey Lan2K. I have actually started weaning myself of the remeron. I need to figure out why I am not losing weight, and if it is my antidepressant, I am not willing to deal with that side effect. I will be seeing my doctor to ask for wellbutrin shortly.

  2. The stall is over. It must have been the carbs. I am cutting back a lot on the carbs, and home this does the trick.

  3. Hey ya, Unfortunately the stall is still here. I was in Chicago for the last three days, and it was hard getting my protein and water in, but calories remained low, and the scale still has not moved. I have decided to hide the scale, and will not measure for the next two weeks. It is really not very encouraging.

  4. Hey ya! the darn stall is here.... arrrggghhhh!

  5. Hey Jeepchic. I am doing OK. The weight loss has slowed down already, 180.2 then 179.8, then 180 then 178.8 and today 178.2. Yes, i am on the damn scale everyday. But I am also 'window-shopping' online on the forever 21 website dreaming of when I will be able to buy a medium on there. I ate eggs today!!! half an egg. it was OK... but darn it tasted good. (even as watery as it was.

  6. Hey Coco, THanks for your friend request. I think you will really like Dr Alvarez and his team. During my stay there he came over to see me about three to four times each time, and this is in addition to all the nurses/attendants checking on me.

I got a 32 bougie. My understanding is that it does not make a huge difference (apparently millimetres difference).

I did not have to do the liquid diet since my BMI is on the lower end. I did take the UNJURY protein powder that I mixed into my drink on the way back from the airport. (But I have to admit I did not like the taste of it a day after discharge).

Good luck to you and your mom Ann. I know it will go wonderful for you as well.

  7. Loser- just wanted to cheer you as you prepare for your surgery. I appreciated your assurance about Dr. ALvarez prior to my surgery, and I hope your recovery is as comfortable as mine has been. If you need anything/any info to prepare for your trip- the holler!

  8. I hear you about the winter! I am soooo over it. I would love a spring get together with the folks closer by.

  9. Deedee I just noticed from your blog reading that we are 'fairly' close by. I live in the District. Good to know there is someone in my neck of the woods.

  10. Mini. Just checking in to say good luck with your surgery. I hope it goes flawlessly. Very excited for you :0 let us know how it goes.

  11. Hey Marci, Just checking in with you. How is it going now. I am starting day one of full liquids and I am so excited. Any fun recipes to share?

How did the staple removal go? I emailed my doc and turns out I don't have staples to be removed. Something about them being different and getting absorbed. I also did not have a drain, so not sure what gives.

  12. Hey.. I have a dog too. his name is Cooper (hence being Coopers mama). I tried to lift him off the ground yeesterday (he is 35 pounds) and it hurt, so you are right. i cannot imagine how it is for folks lifting babies a week in.

I am on day one of full liquids. Any enticing recipes to share?

By the way, I have a trick up my sleeve (no pun intended). While going down clothing sizes, I am only going to buy dresses from now on. They are feminine, but they allow you flexibility to go down two ot four sizes without looking crazy. Thought I would share that with you.

  13. You are soooo lucky you are on pureed foods. I still have one more day until I get on full liquids. I went and bought a magic bullet yesterday and some soups. I will start liquifying them tomorrow and adding some broth so that I can get them into full liquid form. Also bought a sieve.

So how much chicken soup were you able to do?

by the way, how much walking can you do?

  14. Did you eat the fry....? :)

  15. Hey chicca, I am feeling better every day. I am surprised it is not as bad as I thought it would be. The biggest problem is I get acid and pain in my incision, but the meds have been helpful. I still don't have enough energy to walk around.

Choco-protein sounds good. Maybe I should try that. I am getting a little bit of head hunger. I almost threw up when I had Isopure yesterday, so I am sticking to Unjury and Ramen noodle soup.

I am trying to avoid the scale like a plague. Maybe I will photoshop my head on Kim kardashian's body as motivation. LOL!

  16. Hey marci, Is it getting better. I get acid early in the morning and late in the night, and there is a little of pain in my incision. God bless the heart of the person who created pain meds and acid blocker- I feel so much better after taking those.

I have not been able to walk any further than a block, but I am going to try a little more.

Have you jumped on the scale yet?

  17. Hey ya.... we got our surgery on the same day (and I think we need to lose about the same amount of weight (I have 70 pounds to goal). Let's keep in touch.

  18. Just checking in Marci. How is it going? I got mine done on Friday. Ice chips/ water is not my friend, but I have a new appreciation for room temp crystal light.

  19. Ohmy... I just checked out your pictures. You look sooooo awesome. I am going to check in whenever I have a tough time and 'get motivated' by your pics.

  20. Bailey and Baxter are soooo darn cute! You look awesome by the way.

  21. 10.5 pounds down Jilly- you are kicking TOOSH!!!!
