  1. Alas, looks like the stall is still here!!! Weight went up by 0.2 pounds today. I know I promised not to jump on the scale, and I am hooked on the scale. arrgggghhhh!
  2. I will trade you. I lost 14 in the first two weeks, and have been stuck for the last 2 weeks.
  3. I hope you feel better soon Deb :biggrin2: HUGS. Please let us know what the doctors say.

    TnTPoP Sayin' "Hi!"

Congratulations TNTPOP. Trinity and Troy will be very excited to be able to run and play with their father. This site has been very helpful for me. Feel free to ask whatever thoughts you may have before surgery.
  6. DISNEY.... sooooo fun! one of the things on my list is planning a vacay soon whenever I am in the dumps. Plus I read somewhere that most food places in Disney allow you to get 'kid size' portions with your bariatric card (The one you get from your doctor)

What's up with all these men & sex addiction?

Not making an excuse for any of these people, but if they are as addicted to sex as I am about food- I will not lay blame on them, and pray that they seek out the help they need. After all, I have heard a lot of people say- 'food addiction' is an excuse for staying fat. (and I know that is not true)

    Concerned - should I be?

I felt the same way a few days out, but felt better fairly quickly.

    Battle of the flab

I have been trying some solutions to 'reduce the effect'- even though I agree with Shontel- sometimes plastics is the way out. Since my surgery, I loofah during my showers (something about it getting rid of dead skin more), and I moisturize with Palmers moisturizer (the label says for pregnancy and weight loss). It will likely not resolve issues with the saggies, but I am hoping I can 'reduce' the saggies. And there is no scientific proof that it will- I am experimenting, but it does not hurt to try. Also, i am using Olay regenrist moisturizer for my face.
  10. I think the scale moved today. It was down to 177.2. That is lower than it has been. Maybe the stall is broken. I will confirm tomorrow if it has. One thing that I did do yesterday was so the Leslie Sansome walk. (but at the same time I had 60 calories more than usual (those darn fudgsicles- LOL)

    Goal!!!

Congratulations Deedee. You really are an inspiration to all of us. Thank you for your friendship. You are one of the people on this board who always cheers everyone on, and you always share your journey with everyone. I think a part of you reaching your goal so quickly is the good karma that you have put out there as well. CONGRATULATIONS.... doing the happy dance for you.

    What are your favorite snacks

Thanks guys for such great ideas. I am going to take this list to the grocery store. Any other suggestions for 'sweet snacks'. I love the greek yogurt, and will try the luna mini bars (are they high sugar?)
  14. I really liked the shots. I mixed them with a little bit of water every day. But I stopped once I heard it is not 'good protein'. I checked and it said it has some Whey Isolate, so I am not sure as to why it is not 'the best' protein, but I am still on a quest to find some protein.
  15. Lan. I am so glad that the Remeron is working for you. I am still feeling the sleepiness. I called my doctor about it and he said to try for a few more days, that the symptoms will subside. But I certainly have more energy and feel better.

    Confession time-horrible with food intake

Deedee -you have done such a good job until now. A little derailment is just that-a short-term derailment. At least you recognize the challenges you are facing, so now you can do something about it. But, I do feel you. I am sooooo over the SNOWCAPOLPYSE! SNOWMAGEDDON or whatever other SNOMG name they have for it. p.s. Since walking is a no-go- our streets are still yucky, I did Leslie S. walk at home video. They have it on-demand. Maybe you can get some exercise done that way.

    190 Degree turn around

Lucygoose, did you ever find out what it was that was making you ill? You had mentioned earlier that it did not have anything to do with your actual sleeve- so what caused all your symptoms? Really curious. I am glad you are feeling better - and yeay for no snoring
  18. Thank you folks for all your words of wisdom. I really need to have a mind shift and try and enjoy the journey, and stop focusing on the scale. I really appreciate your input. Sometimes you just need to hear it (AGAIN).

    Clear Fluids?

I was allowed sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello.
  20. Thank you Nagaraj and Bella. I am so frustrated to the point where I emailed my coordinator to double check if I may have insulin resistance. I guess I just have to wait for the stall to break, and celebrate the smaller victories.

To Mexico or not To Mexico....

I also had my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Alvarez. My experience was fantastic. I had a speedy recovery. The one thing that was tough was traveling because I did not have a lot of energy, but it was not unbearable. The level of care was excellent. I would say certainly research the surgeon that you will use (there are a few whose patients have rave reviews about them). The other thing that I got from folks on the boards is to make sure you have a good post-surgery support team. I enlisted a nutritionist, a therapist and I will be joining a weight loss support team this week. Feel free to ask me any questions.
  22. I love Fage and Oikos with some Torani sugar free syrup. I also love greek yogurt with shakes. 15 g of protein in the yogurt, plus protein powder (about another 15 to 30 g) gets you close to half your protein for the day.

    Ricotta Bake

I made this and posted it a while back. It is from Eggface's website. It is so delish. When I make it, I stuff pasta shells with the ricotta bake for my beau, and I have the bake as is in a ramekan. So yummmy in my tummy.

    A very productive day

Your closet looks great. I love purged closets.
  25. Hey Deedee, I just walked to the Dupont Circle snowball fight, and checked it out (did not participate- not interested in getting pelted) and then came back home. I got my walking in for the day :sad0: My plan for the clothes that I need to get rid of (which are my 12s and 14s), is to take them to a consignment store. Secondi is close to me at Dupont Circle. And since my clothes are nice, if I say so myself, I do not want to donate them, but I also don't want to have their energy in my closet. The next few dress sizes I plan on buying more thrifty store clothes until I get to goal. One trick that I have learned is that you can wear dresses through a few sizes. I always wear dresses and tights, so I will be sticking with this.
