    Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Seeking Mentor

    My favorite way to drink a protein shake is to put a spoonful of pb and ice then blend! I use EAS chocolate fudge from walmart. I crave these shakes, plus it helps that I love ice cream and this kind of replaces that for me. I am an ice cream addict. I did good not having a snack but now I have 2 sometimes 3 a day. Mostly healthy but not always. Maybe when winter is over and we are not cooped up so much it will be better for me.
  2. Wednesday~ 1/2 c oatmeal and peanut butter 1/3c tuna salad with melba crackers 7 spoonful of lemon lush 1/2c tex mex stew,1/2pc ww bread with butter 1/2 of a bacon,egg,cheese pocket

    I was told no shakes...??? HELP!!

    I am one of those who are to tight in the A.m. I drink them when I can't get my oatmeal down. I also drink them after I work out as well. The weird thing is that I crave these shakes. I never thought I would enjoy them that much! My dr. is aware and says that if I can eat-go ahead and eat.

    I accept!! We are in this together! I know I need a swift kick in the a** sometimes. Just about everyday I log my food in the food thread "share ideas- what did you eat today?" I have recently joined curves and I work out 4-5 times a week. I also walk 2-3 times a week on top of that. I never exercised the first several months after my surgery. Then I realized that I had to. I also think I have hit a plateau now. I lost 2# in December and have lost nothing for January!! I was thinking that I'm not getting enough calories now that I am working out consistently! By the way...what is your name?

    Hello~ I am a 34yrs old~Mother of 3 boys 13.11.5. Wife of 14 years. I was banded March 24, 08 I needed to lose about 110#. I have lost around 70#. I get weighed and measured next week. I live in Indiana and we have a butt load of snow right now!! I work for our family business of heating and air conditioning- part time. I know I still need a kick in the A**!!

    I still get mine from Lane Bryant--they just hold them up better now that I have lost 70#.

    For me.....I was told I wasn't big enough for gastric. I went with the band and I am so glad I did. It is a decision that you should discuss further with your dr. or when you go to a seminar. My seminar discussed both and there were 1 person from each wls to discuss there journey. Do as much research as you can and ask lots of questions here and with your dr. Good Luck

  10. Today~ 1/2 c oatmeal choc protein shake made turkey burgers from market day and they were gross!! So I had mashed potatoes and peas--1/2 c peppermint patty

  15. This is funny! I have to say I was never a fan but did it for my hubby! Now I let him squirt on my boobies and he is satisfied with that. I just can't get it down!

    Pre-op Diet

    My doc gave me a 2 week pre op of full liquids. The first couple of days were hard. It did get easier. He told me if I didn't lose weight on this pre op he would postpone the surgery. Also if I gained weight he would postpone it. Definately follow your doc's instructions.
  18. Mine says 1 cup. The dietician says 1/2 cup. I have had 4 fills and I am lucky to eat the 1/2 cup. Some days it does seem like I can eat more and others I eat less.

    Not drinking with meals

    Same as JuneAct2. I usually give in and let them bring me an ice water just so they shut up. I quickly adjusted to the no drinking while eating. After I eat I make sure I leave the table and start cleaning the kitchen or go do some laundry.
  20. This was a bad weekend. We took the kids to Wisconsin Dells. We had so much fun but I ate really bad. I had pizza-thin crust w/cheese 2 days in a row. I ate chips, 2 oreos. I did take apples, ham and cheese to snack on as well. I would like to think I burned off alot of calories in the wave pool and climbing all the stairs for the tube slides. Let me just say for the first time, I climbed those stairs and was not panting when I reached the top!!!
  21. Wednesday~ scrambled egg and hash 2oz tuna salad w/ all bran crackers 1/2 pc raosted garlic lemon chicken, hashbrown casserole, 1 broccoli floret vanilla ice cream 1 scoop
  22. Today~ ham and swiss roll up yogurt whip, almonds 1/2 cchicken noodle soup, fried cheese crisp cheese quesadilla (sp) wedge gold medal ribbon ice cream 1 scoop

  24. Tuesday~ raisen bran 1/2 c 1/2 c tuna salad with 5 garlic all bran crackers 1/2 small banana w/peanut butter salad=cheese,tuna,lettuce, catalina 1 glass wine few bites of popcorn
  25. Today~ tuna salad 4 oz tuna salad 2 0z, all bran crackers-5 chocolate whip yogurt 1/2 potato soup w/bacon-yum
