    March 2010 Sleevers

Well... Year 2 sure was a quiet one for the March 2010 Forum. I am approaching my anniversary AND my 2 year checkup with my doctor. Is it me or do you think these Dr appointments are just so they can conduct their own research? I never really see the doctor. I get asked the same questions, get weighed, told when to make my next appointment and get charged for seeing a specialist. Thinking I may put an end to these visits.

    March 2010 Sleevers

I guess we are loosing VSG boarders to FaceBook. Coming up on our 1 year anniversarys. I have been holding steady over the last few months which beats the normal gain I guess. Got to kick it up a bit before I buy new spring clothes. Hope all is well..

    Band to Sleeve question

Good Luck Shana. Welcome to the club.
  7. The one thing I noticed is the consistancy vs the band. There are no loose days, tight days. Your tolerance to food volume will be pretty much the same. Once you get your head around that its pretty easy. I dont get stuffed any more if I overeat, I get uncomfotable. I can handle stuffed. Dont like this new feeling so I am careful what I eat. The sleeve works well.

Yeah, I got my labs today also. All good except Hematocrit level is a little low. Sounds like B12 deficent. Better stop by GNC.

Any March Sleevers experience a stall yet. I have just lost 2 pounds over the last 3 weeks. My Dr told me it would happen but I sure aint liking it.

You know the thing I like most about this surgery? When you are at a food court in the mall and hungary go to the folks that are giving out samples on the toothpicks. One or two samples and you are good to go. Its like getting free lunch.

    March 2010 Sleevers

I'm with you. I feel great that I had the surgery and confident that the weight will come off I am absolutly exhausted. I find myself grabbing a bench for a few minutes if I am walking around the mall for a while or just up on my feet for an hour or two. I have NEVER dont that before. I don't dare hit the recliner after work or I will nod right out. Water intake is fine, Protein intake is 70+ on most days so not quite sure what the problem is. Maybe I'm just getting old but I am really wiped out at the end of the day. I had the misfortune of injuring my foot a few weeks after WLS which has severly limited cardio exercise. I think that is probably the issue. I am back to every other day on ellyptical and hope it whips me back into energetic shape.:sad0:

    March 2010 Sleevers

All great with me. Today is day 31. I am down 22 pounds. My BMI was 40 at the start so I am pleased. At my 4 week checkup I was down 18% of my excess body weight. My Dr likes to see 16 to 20% EBW loss so I am a poster child (In my eyes at least). Keep up the updates fellow Sleevers and Sleevettes. Tom

    Today I heard something

Hey fellow sleevers and sleevettes. Lets remember. This is NOT easy. Its not easy to make the desicion, jump thru the hoops, fight with ins co and/or self pay. Its not easy to have the operation, nor is the recovery. Its not easy to go thru the post-op diet nor to be exhausted for weeks after. What it is is a sucessful way to loose weight. This has been more challenging then any diet I did. Thats because I could (and did) bail out when it got too tough. No bailing out on this. This is not for the weak. Its for those who know what they have to do to be sucessful. Its for winners!! Tom
  17. I had same thing. Still do 30 days out. (WOW has it been a month already) IMHO it is all part of the healing process. Enjoy your new life..

    Post Op Protein Question???

I love my HNR800 before lap band, post lap band and now post sleeve. The rest of them am have always been so-so on them. Surgery has made a diff in some foods but not protine shakes.

    12 hours till V-Day

They did not perform a leak test. They did send me home with a drain which I had for a week, Just had that removed Thursday, thank God. I can now wear normal clothes. I feel like I have been wearina a moo-moo for a week. There was a follow up after 1 week. Ny next appt is 1 month out, then 3 month, 6 month, 1 year anniversary then annually. Smart move going right for the VSG. I wish I had done the same. My wife has a friend getting a band in the next week or so. I would LOVE to tell her not to do it but she has her mind made up and I have to respect that. Keep in touch and let us know how you do. I am 10 days out, down 12 since surgery, back to work and feeling great.
  21. Well the old band comes out tomorrow and I will be an official sleever. Looking forward to the journey. Wish the band worked but we just didn't get along. Hoping this is the answer. See ya on the other side.

    March 2010 Sleevers

I was scheduled for March 17. I got a call at the beginning of the month to see if I would be OK moving it up to March 10th. I was thrilled. I really wanted to get on the other side of this thing. Day 4 and I am feeling fine. Today was the first day that I weighed in less then I did on surgery day. Go figure. I went to my sons basketball game today with no problems. I am expecting to be back at work (desk job mostly) by mid week. Good luck with your upcomind dates.
