    I'm gagging over here!

Beneprotein is a product manufactured by Nestle that is awesome. It comes in a canister and each scoop is 6gm of 100% whey protein. It's kind of like the Benefiber in that you can mix it in anything, and I do mean anything, and there's no flavor detected...it's completely benign. I like it in coffee in the morning, my soups, my refried beans, anything kind of wet and you can't tell it's in there. I had to order mine online because there wasn't a pharmacy locally that carried it but check with your local pharmacy and they can probably order it for you. It was only $15 per can and I guesstimate a can will last me about 4 to 5 days.

    Yummiest PB Shake!

Thank you so much for this idea, was able to find PB2 at a local store and I love it! The chocolate flavor was great in carnation instant Breakfast as well...

    down a 100 pounds

100 lbs? wow, how amazingly inspiring!!! You should be so proud of yourself...I wanna be like you when I grow up:thumbup:!!!
  4. Research, research, and research some more. I did a lot of geeky research on gastrectomies for cancer and ulcer patients considering those surgeries have been performed for decades upon decades. There are long term results published for the VSG, I can give you some links if you would like. Tiffykins, could you please send me any links citing the long term effects of VSG, have a friend teetering with the decision, but her pcp has told her the procedure is "too new" to know the long term effects. Pumpkin07, I'm only 9 days out so I don't have a lot of advice to give, but I will say it's amazing how you begin to see your body changing and the weight dropping in such a little time. I'm truly excited for the next couple of months. Good luck with your decision making. LapBandTalkClick to visit the largest Lap-Band community online!

    Post surgery full liquids.

It's only day 3 of full liquids for me and I'm already tired of soups/ protein shakes ...would rather do clear liquids almost. I'm just not very hungry...(how nice that is to hear!)
  6. Hi Cheryl, Oregondaisy's right, consider yourself lucky because I can only drink maybe2 oz before feeling overly full. What about your full liquids ie protein shakes, soups, etc.? Are you able to drink unlimited too? I can only take about 1/2 cup at a time...
  7. I'm glad you're feeling well and are having a positive experience. I believe I know the caregiver you're speaking of and I too believe they could benefit from further training/ less hours. I pray you have a safe trip home...happy losing!!!:crying:
  8. 2b4me, I too will be having surgery at Jerusalem on the 23rd, I look forward to starting this journey with you and Cyn. See you Saturday!
  9. Hello SG, I'm so sorry about your experience. I'm scheduled to have surgery there this coming wknd. Can I ask when your surgery was?

  10. Hello All! My date is swiftly approaching (Jan 23rd) but I've got a question. I've read a few others posting about abstaining from coffee post-surgery for 60 to 90 days, but there's nothing in my paperwork about not drinking coffee...can someone shed some light? Also, is anyone else scheduled at Jerusalem the 22nd/23rd?
  11. If you don't mind me asking, why did you end up in ICU?

  12. OK, I'm getting pretty nervous. I'm scheduled to have surgery w/ Dr. Almanza the 3rd wk of Jan and can't turn a blind eye to all this talk about infections. Does anyone know of any incidences of infections that may have occurred this mth (December)? I've been assured that the problems w/ infections have been corrected. If this continues to be a problem I won't go through w/ this surgery. I have seen infections that resulted in major, irreversible damage including death...they shouldn't be taken lightly. If anyone knows of any recent cases of infections at Emmanuel w/i this mth please e-mail me. I want the VSG but not at any cost. To GinGin, NJSleever & others, thanks for posting. Your experiences have been most helpful to me.
