    470 lbs Flight Question

It is a sad commentary on our society that a woman is flying to Mexico to have 85% of her stomach removed and her biggest concern is the flight. We have all been there in one way or another my friend. Best of luck to you, hope you love your sleeve as much as I love mine!
  8. Everything is going well Sarah, I love being sleeved, it just keeps getting better and better. Hope it's the same for you!

  9. Love your new profile picture! Lookin' good!

  10. Awww Jeannie, I am so sorry that your friend has not been supportive. I know it must feel odd to not tell your boys but you have valid reasons so I hope you aren't beating yourself up over it! Hope your appointments went well today!
  11. I concur Pete, no pain just weird and a relief! Love your picture, too cute.
  12. You will be amazed at how quickly you heal and how easily you can get your protein in once that swelling in your stomach goes down. I am 15 weeks out and have been able to chug my water for weeks now. Best wishes!

    NSV shout outs

I love this thread, we are all so blessed to have been given this opportunity to lose weight. My favorite NSV is that I am virtually sweat free! I was ALWAYS a head sweater (the worst kind to be) running around with nasty wet hair, sooo embarrassing! We were at the zoo recently on a humid 90 degree day and my husband kept inspecting my face and head for any signs of sweat, I was totally sweat free, that alone is worth $16000.00!

    No good, very bad day

I am so sorry you are having a rough time. I felt like I was starving to death beginning on day 2 and I just realized yesterday (I will be 15 wks out tomorrow) that I don't get hungry anymore. It must have been acid but it seems to be over now. Things will look brighter soon, that first month can be so surreal.
  15. Hey, I see Dr Hoehn did your surgery too! What a great surgeon, hope everything is going well for you! Robbie

    G*DD^mnit *&$@%+!!!!!

Yikes! That was the kind of thing I kept thinking would happen right up to the last minute(such an emotional time anyway), so sorry that it actually happened to you! Your great outlook will get you through all of this, I will be praying for you.

    Third Month is the Charm!

Anna, you are doing sooo well! I really related to your diet failure story! What a frustrating way that was to live. This sleeve is like a dream, it really does make you feel powerful! Great post.
  18. Hi Dansha, I am good. I did give myself injections for 10 days post op. It is a very fine gauge needle and you inject in your stomach, you honestly don't even feel it, I am serious. I did my injections myself, I was diabetic during both of my pregnancies so I had to inject insulin for a few months. When you wipe your belly with the alcohol pad just make sure you let the alcohol dry before you inject and you will not feel it. Glad things are going well!

Absolutely amazing, you look great! How fun!
  21. I was conflicted before I had surgery, I am SOOO happy now. At 12 weeks out tonight we had a special dinner for my son, I had 1/4 cup of brown rice and about 6 oz of strip steak, and a few bites of green beans, A little later I had about a 1/4 cup of oreo ice cream. I was totally comfortable. Now I NEVER eat like this but I am getting ready to start my period (TMI) and it was a special time for my son, the point is I can eat normal foods (just MUCH less) and I can do it comfortably and I am completely satiated afterward because I am full. I highly recommend the sleeve, I can not imagine that you will not be thrilled too. Best wishes to you!

    Pork Rinds

Pork rinds and beef jerky were on my (very short) list of things that I never ate, now I love them both! I love to blend up some Bush's Baked Beans and dip pork rinds in it. I had no idea that you can buy microwavable pork rinds, definitely need to check that out!

    OK, I'm scared

My youngest is 18 and she keeps saying "Ever since you had that surgery there is no food in this house!!!"
