  4. go back to basics. Do the liquids, mushies and lean proteins. And step away from the scale
  5. Never EVER be afraid to fire your doctor when you don't feel they have your best medical interest in mind. If your doctor is inattentive, uninterested, combative, and doesn't want to help you, then they're not doing their job. I went through EIGHTEEN doctors that just wanted to put me on an antidepressant. Come to find out, I had a deadly liver disorder that would have killed me in a couple of months without treatment. You have obviously done your research, done the hard work of getting to this point. Your doctor wasn't honest with you obviously. Now, I also know that there are doctors that don't do what patients want that are GREAT doctors. My mother is one of those people that abuses doctors for attention. She's been to several doctors - all of which we call and warn before she gets there.

    Am I Eating Too Much?

Just like before your surgery, your stomach will fluxuate. How far out are you? Some days your tummy will be restrictive - could be due to retaining water or even being dehydrated. I can eat more food some days than others. I make a point to eat until I don't want to anymore. I have gotten over that "finish what's on your plate" thing. I don't mind putting half a protein bar in a baggie and eating it later or the next day.

    Almanza

Ya know, i've just been doing what I should. I haven't really worked out much - just being more active. I threw out my back so I haven't been able to really do a whole lot. Anyway, following the post-op diet, lots of water, lots of protein and I'm doing well! I don't really avoid anything I want - just have a lot of things i don't want anymore haha. I make sure i don't overeat, always make sure to eat protein first. Lots of vitamins (I go with the gummy ones, they go down easier) - Oh! and orange juice and bananas! Every day, a glass of trop 50 orange juice and a banana. Keeps the potassium levels up! Very important to avoid cramps, etc. I'm so excited about my progress. I feel like my old self again. I'm nowhere near my goal, but I'm so much closer than I ever would have been.

    Almanza

Almanza was great- zero complications here and I'm down almost 100 lbs since surgery, which was just over 4.5 months ago. There was one person there that had horrible pain but she also wasn't getting up and walking. I walked every 1-2 hours after surgery and had zero pain by the next morning. No pain meds since the morning after surgery. Complications can happen anywhere at any time. It's not distinctive to any particular doctor. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Is This Normal

Normal? Maybe, maybe not... But definitely fortunate! I too had zero complications or issues. I had the easiest recovery on the planet - didn't even take pain meds since the morning after surgery. Thank your lucky stars and follow all instructions and it should stay complication free! 11. People who see you every day aren't going to notice as much as people who only see you once in a while... Also, it extremely taboo to talk about someone's weight at work. People have gotten in serious trouble for that in recent history. Just know you're doing a great job and keep up the good work! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  12. I think everyone's full is different. I actually feel full and it makes the food undesirable. Same as before surgery. I also will hiccup. Some people get pressure feelings or burp or even cough. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Overeating?

Ground beef, because it is cooked thoroughly is more difficult to digest and doesn't agree with some people. If it doesn't agree with you, try ground bison or ground turkey instead. They're a bit more tender. Hamburger is old cow that would be too tough for steak cuts. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    What To Take For Period

I don't have any restriction on what I can take. I would call your surgeon and ask him for a prescription for a non-NSAID. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Thyroid Problem Question

An Endo has zero way to know how much weight a person all lose with surgery. His job will be to monitor her TSH. T4, T3, free T3 during her weigt loss and adjust her accordingly. My thyroid has nearly zero function and now I'm on the second lowest dose of thyroid meds available. I've lost 80 lbs since my preop diet started on January 20th. I ain't done yet. So Discouraged ....

While many of us know the reality of the sleeve, there are thousands out there that don't. I have sat in many, many seminars and listened to people completely miss the entire purpose of the surgery. If you don't like the doctor's bedisde manner, find another.

    So Discouraged ....

The doctor is just looking out for your health. I know it may be hard to hear, but sugar coating isn't what is needed right now. Be thankful you have a doctor that cares enough to be up front and honest with you. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    So Discouraged ....

This doctor is concerned about your safety. I know it's hard to hear but really, his concern is for your health. I would rather have a doc tell it like it is than sugar coat things for Me Sent from my iPhone using VST
