    I can cross y legs

Well dang! It took me a few months to get there, so well done!
  2. So far I have had a breast augmentation and I have had some lipo in several areas of my body. I haven't had any skin removal yet and plan to consult with Dr. Katzen later this summer to do my batwing removals. His work is too amazing... anywayyyy to answer this question... Liposuction is VERY embarrassing. Most don't know what it entails and the recovery is bizarre, and very painful! The first thing they do (besides put you in twilight sleep) is fill your fat pockets with some kind of solution that liquefies your fat. Then they suction it all out... even though I was in twilight sleep I still faintly remember this. Well that's not the embarrassing part. The worst of it is when you are at home recovering you literally have to wear adult diapers on your wounds because the wounds continue to seep for hours! A lot too... it super gross and like I said bizarre. Would I do it all over again? I don't know. Maybe not. But I don't need to either.
  3. Absolutely that makes a lot of sense. Def don't want any infections. I've had them and they really suck to put it bluntly.. Best wishes to you and your recovery. Scamp-- as I understand it, the muscles are weakened as a result of the hernias. Dr yesterday reiterated the ban on lifting and on straining (constipation) because it can undo his good work. Lilmis- apparently replacing the belly button is very difficult as there can be insufficient blood flow which can lead to infection. The way I figure it, I can get a tattoo if I want!
  4. The good news is. the longer you are in the WLS community, the easier it is to ignore inflammatory posts and people.

Yea but for a lot that usually means being less active and helping others who come after you. I am guilty of it but try to pop in least once a day if only for a few minutes.

@Jim1967 that is only partially true for myself. I've been around since 2007 and though I started here with LBT then over the years I have branched out to Facebook or Instagram more. I do still come here occasionally and mostly chat with the very new folks looking for support or newly operated. I don't divulge conversation in the Lounge and especially R&Rs. I am solely here for support while remembering we were all new at one time.

Anyone on here post op 2.5 years?

If you feel you're eating too much the best recourse is measuring your food. Space out your eating to 20 minutes. Chew well and make sure you're following your drinking rules which most surgeons will say no fluids until one hour after eating solid food. Protein first, then veggies and a few bites of high Fiber carbohydrates. It is natural for the sleeve to stretch some. But that doesn't mean we should try to fill it up. Stay within your measured amounts of food per meal.
  6. Negativity is like cancer. Keep feeding it and letting it fester and it grows. It's also like fire, touch it and you get burned. Stay positive in your journey! Enjoy the scenery. :)

  7. @@sassy14 - Very exciting! Best wishes on your surgery and may you recover quickly! Question, why aren't they rebuilding a new belly button? I'm just curious.
  8. Greetings. This is not enough calories to survive on in any healthy way or manner. Your body will be forced to feed off of itself, not just your fat but also your muscles (your heart is a muscle) and even your organs and brain. Please seek the advice of (ETA ANOTHER) surgeon as well as A Nutritionist regarding this matter right away. Thank you. Hi all , happy new year 2015 , I'm new to this forum , I would like to know have anyone eaten below 300 calories for a year after gastric sleeve, what was ur starting weight and previously current weight at the end of the first year, , how much u lost , did u felt hungry. How much of ur stomach was removed and what was ur bougie size. How much of ur excess weight do u lost. By the way I will be under the supervision of medical doctors, so please no negative comments. Comment should only be based on the topic, thanks in advance.

    Read me.

Game time! Let's write the longest story in history. In 5 (or less) words, link your story to the person above you by finishing their sentence. PLEASE KEEP IT CLEAN. Okay I will Start: Once Upon a Time in...
  15. My diet is the household diet. My family is very supportive. Especially since I do most of the cooking!
  16. Okay I'm not talking about like, 4 or 5 pounds... I'm talking like maybe 15 plus at least. I'm talking a significant weight gain. Yes it is possible for this to happen! I’m testimony to it. I gained from my lowest since banding of 227, to a current 255. Now before you get on my case, look – I know I blew it. I KNOW! Thank goodness this is a support website where we can all air our grievances without getting an earful from others who have not experienced this. I’m not looking for that. I’m looking for encouragement. Just a kind request: If you are here to tell me “Get a fill” or have an almighty attitude, please don’t. I really don’t want to hear any of that, and I truly thank you for honoring that in advance. I’m plenty tight, thank you. For that has no bearing when I’m eating ice cream or any other food that just slides right down. That said, I’ll continue on with what I had in mind. I gained when I was on birth control pills. I got off of them as soon as I could! They made me want to eat all day long! Now I’ve been stuck at 245-255 for the last several months! I can’t seem to get it right! But as I’m reading around I’ve noticed a few others like me that for whatever reasons (and I don’t care why it is) have gained some weight back too from their lowest. I don’t think that matters now anyway, as to the why. What is important is that it is accepted and to try to lose that weight again. Not over and over like I seem to be doing. I really have good intentions, and I will do well, but just until I get to a certain weight and I flux back again. I think it’s usually around “that time”, but heck the buck as got to stop here. I can’t take it, it’s like torture! I really have what it takes to do it, so I just have TO DO IT. So if you are in a similar situation as me, and you have gained some weight from your lowest, let’s get together and chat here. Let’s talk about what we are doing to correct it. Let’s talk about and announce our accomplishments and console each other when we have a set back. Let’s put up a ticker or something in our sig lines that are showing we are getting back to where we started! We can do this, if we do it together. I’m not looking for a challenge, the only challenge I face is with me. I just want to have someone to talk to that has similar issues. I’ve tried almost everything so far. Now I just need some people who can understand what I’m going through.
  17. Happy December! Hopefully you are staying on track as best you can. :) I'm doing pretty good here!

  18. No problem. Keep us updated on how you're doing!
  19. Wow that is a lot of weight pre-op. I wish I had some miracle response but I don't. This is called "white knuckling" it. Yours is lasting a lot longer than others are. Mine were only a week at a time. You might need to find a hobby to occupy your mind for the next few months. What do you like to do? Is there something you have been thinking about starting up? As far as if you could do this on your own why do you need surgery, well losing weight and keeping it off post op is easier than if you never had surgery. It's never EASY but it is easiER ... The first few months you will see weight literally melt off with minimal effort, however you will still need to stay on track because this will change over time and you won't want to have to get back on track just to keep losing weight. Best of luck to you.
  20. I've had the Sleeve and had to revise to the Bypass. Over the years I ended up with extreme GERD from the VSG and had to revise. Of the two I'd say they both work great. If I HAD to pick which one I like the best I pick the Bypass. I don't have as much esophageal pain now and I'm feeling good/normal. I recognize when I am full and I stop eating immediately. Haven't had any post op problems at all except the incision pain was annoying, but it went away. Good luck to you!

Fear and recent death in Texas

Your chances of dying of morbid obesity related illnesses is far higher than dying in surgery. All of us are going to die someday. I'd rather die while I'm happy and living the most of my life, not just wishing for it. That said, this really is your decision. Make sure you are 100% on board and ready for all the changes that accompany this surgery. Best!
  24. Those of you who have reached goal, does being called skinny offend you? Much like no one likes being called "fat" some people feel offended when they are called skinny. Are you one of those people?
