Lioness863 got a reaction from Bandista in Surgery Tomorrow!!!!!!
Thanks everyone for the support! My appointment was initially at 12n but got moved to 1:30p. BUT....I stayed in Pre-Op until 3pm before going to OR. Needless to say I need a manicure! But I'm glad it's over and done. I am 2 days post and doing better every day. I don't have much stomach pain, but I had haital hernia repair done at the same time and my diaphragm was stitched up. Talk about pain....talking, reaching, lying down, BREATHING....all cause extreme pain. I thank GOD for my hubby. He has been my strength, my rock, my support and I love him even more every day. I could not lay down in our bed so he move the hammock from our living room into the bedroom and put it next to my lounge chair. Gathered pillows and comforters and that is where I sleep. I'm going out to try and walk 10 mins today. Had to talk my professor into letting me take my midterm next week. No way I can drive a 5 speed to class on Saturday. And still on liquid Percocet and drifting in and outta sleep.< /p>
All in all...I have no regrets. I'm waiting for the healing process so that I can begin Phase 2 (working out) and watching the weight drop!

I was banded on Oct 1...hello fellow October Bandsters!!!!!! To those who received their bands this week, how are you doing?
My only issue is the dreaded GAS!!!! No matter how much GasX, heating pads, walking I do, it will not budge! I am SERIOUSLY bloated. Cannot wear pants, only sundress right now. Bruising showed up yesterday over large area of lower stomach. Hubby saw it and started freaking out, caused me to freak out and called doctor thinking that all the gas had ruptured sutures or something. Thinking about it now, is kinda funny and I guess the on-call doctor thought we were quite silly. But he was very nice and soothe our fears. I bet he had a good laugh after he hung up. I know we did....lol
Took a laxative last night and receive some gas relief this morning....looking forward to my Post-Op appointment on Thurs.

As the day progresses, I have so many mixed emotions. At the same time, I am excited, scared, nervous, and anxious. I started Phase 1 of my journey in May and have been through all the required appointments, seminars, group meetings, psychiatric evals and the dreaded liquid diet. Tomorrow morning at 10am I start Phase 2 and I am sooooo ready to embrace the new me. I decided to get banded because I was sooo sick and tired of being sick and tired. Every health issue I have had from infertility to hypertension had been addressed by healthcare professionals with "lose some weight and your symptoms should improve". However in the past NO ONE was willing to give any assistance or advice on how to lose that weight. So after years of yo-yo dieting and weight fluctuations, I believe I have found the right tool to help me maintain my weight loss. No let me rephrase that. I will not refer to it as weight loss as loss means something that needs to be found and returned. I have the right tool to assist with my weight reduction!!!!!
