  1. My Dr instructed me to have between 40-60 grams of Protein daily, I have tried the Medifast shakes and Muscle Milk, both were ok. Went to GNC to see what they had for options. They make a line of their own shakes called lean. I bought a strawberry, vanilla, and a pumpkin flavor one to try them. The pumpkin is EXCELLENT, they also have a Cookies and cream flavor, will try that one soon. One of these in the AM and one later in the day gets me plenty of the protein I need. Just wish I had found them sooner. They are definitely the best tasting I have found. Especially the pumpkin! Just wanted to share with everyone out there either pre-op or post Op liquid diet etc...
  2. HI, just had my surgery Sept 30. It was about 3 days after the surgery I had pain in my chest, as well as my shoulder/neck area, after the 3 days the chest area pain went way down and just felt tender. Monday will be 2 weeks from my surgery and up until a few days ago I still had some pain in my shoulder neck area it will get better! My experience it just takes time. Hang in there you will be fine!
  3. Surgery was 2 weeks ago. I have done fine with the pure liquid diet and liquid diet as well. Moving onto the " soft " phase this next week. I was wondering what everyone else's Dr is saying about having a glass of wine in the evening? Mine told me a glass is just fine, however not just yet. I know different Drs have different opinions and just curious what everyone else has been told.
  4. Just got off the " pure liquid diet " and onto the " liquid diet " Other than broth which I have consumed for the last 6 days total ( 3 prior to surgery ) any ideas from anyone for this nest part "liquid soup" ? The only one I can think I'd would be Campbell's Tomato which I am sure is high in acid and prob not too good for my stomach just a few days after surgery. What would be a good healthy liquid Soup at this time? If anyone has answers please share them! Already had the sugar free pudding earlier. Never knew I liked it so much!

    Any South Florida Bandsters??

Hi Kitty, you will be fine. I just had my surgery Monday here in ft lauderdale. I had mind done at Strax il lauderhill by Dr Choi. So far so good. I had call the oband center here in lauderdale and they would not even talk to me since I didn't have the proper type of insurance policy. I'm sure they are very good there also. I am mostly back to myself. Still a bit sore, however have some pain mess that seem to be doing the trick. This morning I did not even need to take them. I did a lot more worrying and contemplating the whole surgery and it was literally over before I knew it. I would plan on taking 3 days off from work. Take care and best of luck, Joe. let me know how things go for you! I will be happy to answer any questions I can for you.

    Any South Florida Bandsters??

hi, I had my surgery yesterday AM here in Fort Lauderdale. How are things going for you?
  8. Hi Christina, just a note to let you know it was not NEAR as bad as I thought it would of been. I had the surgery yesterday am and was home a few hours later. Stomach area still a bit tender, however the pain medication takes care of 90% of it! I took it easy yesterday and rested. today I am up walking around the house, working in my office. I am the biggest baby in the world when it comes to all this type of thing and did absolutely fine!!! You will too!!!
  9. Hi Amy, just checking in to see how you are doing. I rested most of yesterday. Thank god for the pain pills! I am walking around the house today and doing some " normal" things. I still feel a timy bit "woozy" Jamie from Dr Chois office called this am to check on me. My follow up appt is Saturday. My stomach area even with the pain pills still is sore. I have 2 dogs ( crazy jack Russell's) that love to jump play climb etc so I need to be extra careful around them now! Going to try some sugar free pudding tomorrow to see how that goes. As for now small sips of Gatorade,Water, tea etc etc. I bought the drops for baby's gas liquid and the nurse Jamie told me to buy the gas-x that dissolves in the mouth instead of what was on our discharge list? What are you using? Hope you are feeling well and look forward to hearing back from you. joe
  10. Most of luck with you as well. It will be interesting to compare our stories. I'm sure we will both be fine. Let's stay in touch!!!
  11. Thanks so much for the encouragement and update. I just want Monday to be over with. Hope to hear from you again at some point. Take care, Joe
