This is the tat I will reward myself when I reach my post op goal weight. I am a huge NASCAR fan and Tony Stewart is one of the best.
  2. A diet is generally thought of as a short term thing. "I am going to diet to loose 10 pounds". What we all need is a life long commitment to food. It is there to fuel our body not our emotions. For so many of us we are the way we are because of our love affair with food. We need to effectively sever that affair and use food correctly and to do that we need to train our selves to think of food differently. I am never going to diet again because I am now on a productive meal plan that works for me. I am sorry for the way I come across sometimes. My father was a Drill Sargent for the ARMY as I was growing up and I was taught to say what is on my mind. That I do without thinking sometimes and I apologize.
  3. Hi...I am not yet banded but I wanted to say congrats on the surgery and you will get a lot of support here. Any questions you may have ask away and they will be answered by someone
  4. I want to look good in a swimsuit this summer
  5. thanks everyone. I am so worried that my lack of weight loss will adversely affect my surgery. I was so athletic as a youngster, as I said before, figure skating, cross country track, tennis team ROTC color guard etc... I hope that is all it is. I weigh myself on the same scale at work and I work in a hospital so I assume it is correct. I also resist weighing every day since I pass the scale a hundred times a day.
  6. I used to be a figure skater and a cross country track runner, could my body remember that? I have been walking 60 minutes twice a day and not lost any weight. My "apron" has gone down and my legs are more muscular, my pants are starting to fall off, but the scale is not moving. Anyone else with this problem. I don't think the body can remember that far back can it?:help:
  7. I'm staying on plan today because I am worth it. I LOVE this thread.....keep it going
  8. >>I would like to know if anyone has been banded by Dr.Alami. How was he ater surgery?
  9. I wass diagnosed with pcos at a young age and had to deal with the pain associated with it for years. I finall had enough of the bleeding. I bled constantly for almpst a year and was able to talk the doc into a complete hysterectomy. I feel so much better now. no more ovarian pain and no more bleeding.
  10. The band is your tool and you need to work with it not against it for it to work. Recommit yourself and HELP the band work for you. You can do this, it is not easy but you are already so far ahead of those of us that are not banded. I cannot wait to be a looser and soon you will be again as well.
  11. My doc put me on a strict 1200cal meal plan. We need to get away from saying "diet". It is not a diet it a way of life. Think about that
  12. That is what I hard as well. T-I-N-Y. sips of pinapple juice
  13. Thank you ladies so much. Luckily I no longer need to worry about TOM visiting. So I won't have that bothersome thing to worry about.
  14. I am #7 of 11 kids. My parents have a healthy sex life . My siblings range in age from 43-3. I myself have 4 kids and love my husband deeply. He has mental hang-ups about sex. I am glad your husband is in the ARMY as my father just retired from 31 years in the ARMY 15 of which he was a Drill Sargent and since 2002 he was in charge of making sure that everyone in the Western US that was heading out to war was battle ready. That being said I understand the life of an ARMY wife and it is the hardest job in the military. I watched my mother go through beatings at the hands of a man who's hands are registered lethal weapons and he was not that nice to us , he was after all a very powerful man in the military. He killed a man in 1970 when he was a Ranger and spent 89 days in jail. He was not a good man, thank GOD he changed and is a good man now. After all of that growing up I never wanted to marry, then I met Jose who is very good to me and A wonderful father. Just because the sex is not there does not mean that we have no relationship. We actually have a very loving marriage and I would not give him up for all of the sex in the world. I just miss having sex.

I have two and one planed for after I get to my goal weight. 1. On my right ankle "Un Amor Por Vida" in the shape of a hollow circle to represent the unending love I have for DH along with "Jose" in the center and barbed wire going around the ankle. 2. On my left ankle "Still Missing My Hero" again in the shape of a hollow circle with "3" in the center. The 3 is for Dale Earnhardt and it is red for Jr. The last part of that tat I haven't done yet,but ,I want to put something to represent his 7 championships. 3. I want a tat on my lower back that says "SMOKE" in the colors of the #20 Home Depot Chevy Monte Carlo driven by "Smoke" himself Tony Stewart. For those of you who watch NASCAR and know NASCAR it is the smoke symbol with the wisps of smoke coming off of it.
  16. Even if the thread doen't sound like it pertains to you explore it anyway. It is a good way to get to know about the people in here and also a lot of them go off topic and you may still find something of use to you. Do not be ashamed or embarrased to ask anything because if you are thinking it so is someone else so ask away.
  17. I don't know how the G&C works but I am feeling a change in the mornings. I also have Degenerative Disc Disease in my lower back and a bad hip both of which are from the skating.
  18. I have been using Motrin for flair ups but having read the post about NSAIDs I don't want to use it that much and want to start weaning myself off. I also use Glucosamine and Condroiton(sp?). That has really been helping. I can walk much better in the morning.
  19. New years Resolution: STICK WITH IT Don't give up.
  20. I need a total knee replacement but I am still to young. I plan on just trying to stay at the same temp inside and out because it really only flairs up in the cold and rain. I was a figure skater when I was young and did a lot of damage to my landing knee.
  21. how do you like this funny weather. It wants to rain at night but not in the day. It is cold in the evening warm during the day and cold at night. I wish it would make up its mind. This type of weather messes with my arthritis.
  22. I don't know when my surgery is just that it will be in January. I am waiting for the OR schedule to open up. I am so excited. It seems like far away but with the golidays here it will fly by, you wait and see. The longest time will be from Jan 1- Jan 8.
  23. I am class of 91. Manogue closed at the end of the 90 school year so we all went our own ways. I went to McClatchy in 89 and graduated in 91. Were any of you around Manogue from 87-89 or McClatchy 89-91? I would love to hear from you. :whoo:
  24. Thank you Fred
  25. I completely agree with you Green, but she needs to understand that things can be hurtful to others even if they are made of ignorance or in fun. I am not here to police anyone, I was trying to tell her that words can be hurtful. After being married almost 13 years I couldn't tell you the last time I was alone and naked with my husband at the same time. At 19 it all seems so important but when you get older you realize there is more to a relationship than that. I am not looking for sympathy for my husband or daughter. I was looking to open her eyes to other reasons why a man may not want it.
