  1. I thank you for your reply. I am not looking for simpathy as it was 14 years ago and I deal with it in my own way. My husband lets me be on what was her due date and the date she was actually born and died because he knows I still grieve for her. I have since had 3 other daughters, not that they replace her in any way but they do make life easier. we were very young my husband only 16 and I was 19 when it happened. we had our 1yr old son. However I do thank you.
  2. So when I was pregnant with my daughter I should not have aborted her? She had half a heart, clubed feet thick skin, one umbilical artery and one umbilical vein, Water on the brain that had stunted the growth of her brain making it so that she would never be able to breath on her own, and she had many more problems that I did not find out about until I was 25 weeks pregnant. Some of those problems I could have dealt with some of them I would not let her suffer through. I have a 15 year old son with Tourettes Syndrome and if I had found out that he had it before he was born I still would have had him. My daughter came after him and having had a child already I killed me to have to do what I did but I was thinking of my child . I delivered her and she died in my arms within minutes because she as unable to breath on her own. That child will always be a part of my life and family. Was I wrong to do what I did???
  3. I am sorry if my opinion has offended anyone but this is me.I love my large family ad had I not just had a hysterectomy my husband and I would have had more children. We take care of them on our own and ask for help from no one. We both work full time and can afford to gve them what they need. One of us is always home with them to help with homework or solve a problem. our older children are not responsible for the younger ones and only take them with if they want to.My son is the most respectful young man you will ever meet. He is 15 and will seat me in a chair or open a door for me. He always allows the first to go before himself at anything. He knows that a woman does not get hit for any reason and is the first out the door if his sister comes in and says someone is picking on them. My daughters know that there is no reason for them to go through what their father and I have gone through. Right now I have one of my daughters lying on the couch behind me talking to me and asking me if I have had my pain pills because I look pale and aksing me if I am in pain. I love interacting with them and wish there were more of them. My family is everything to me. There is always enough time and you can always stop what you are doing to take care of them. I am 4 days post op for my hysterectomy and I have my little helpers taking care of me and loving it because they know I am there for them. I just asked Eliana, my 6 year old , if she likes taking care of me and she said, " I like taking care of you because you take care of me and I love you and besides it's fun to be the mom for a minute" I just asked MaryElizabeth, my 5 year old, if she liked taking care of Mommy and she said "Yes because you are beautiful and I want you to be beautiful once you are sick". Was I wrong to have my children so young. My answer is yes. I was way to young to have my children when I did but who do I give back? I made a mastake and have payed for it , I had no freedom to be a child because I had my son at such a young age but he is the most loving and responsible person I know, and I did it on my own with my husband. We have both been to school to train for what we wanted to do. I worked to put Jose through culinary school and now he is a Chef and he worked to put me through school and now I work for Kaiser. We did this with no help from our parents and we have raised our family with no help from our family. I in no way endoese young parenthood and tell my own children to wait until they have their carreers in the works and own their own homes. I just wanted to make myself clear. Thank you for giving me the opportunity
  4. you seem like such a bitter person. I don't think I have read one thing where you are pleasant. Alecia is happy and well adjusted and I think my sister and her ex did a great job raising her given how young they were. Should I be prosecuted because my husband was 14 and I was 17 when I got pregnant with our son? We are now in a long term marriage and have beat the odds that were stacked against us. He was 18 and I was 21 when we married and we are now 31 and 34 and have been together for a very long time. Did I take advantage of him? When I met him he was addicted to cocaine and an alcoholic. He has been clean now for 15 years and has not had a drink in 10 years. Have I been a bad influence on him? Don't get me wrong I don't agree with having a child that young but for as young as my sister was she did a very good job. My husband tells our children to wait until they graduate from college and not to make the mistakes we made because our lives have been hard. The one thing we have had is each other and the only family I will have left after my parents are gone is the one I make for myself and my siblings so I am glad there are a lot of us so I have more support when I loose my mom or my husband or worse because those are the most important people in my life and if I was an only child how alone would I be in this world once those two people are gone. I have a huge support system because I am from a large family and I am surrounded by so much love. I love my family and cannot understand my husband sometimes because he is an only child and he doesn't understand me because I come from such a large family.
  5. Being married to a man who's father came over the border illegally I think I may be berated for how I feel but here it goes. I feel there are so many illegals that work and pay taxes that they never can or will collect. Let them stay. If they have children that were born or raised here, let them stay. If they get in trouble for something give them the chance to become legal and serve their time as an American. We send them home and the next day they are back here. We cannot keep them out. They can come here and for $3,000 they can get a whole new ID.My husband was born here to an American mother and Mexican father. His father is a wonderful man who has done a lot with his life here and raised a son into a good man who cares for his family. My husband and I made him a grandfather before his citizenship came through. He owned a home and a diner. My husbands father was 36 and mother 14 when they got together years ago. I think we should just leave them alone as long as they are doing good for the country and LEARN the language so they can communicate with those of us who were born here. I am a proud American who's family immigrated through Ellis Island and became Americans in 1897. I also had family come over with Columbus and have fought in every war this country has had. My father is still in the ARMY so don't get me wrong. If there was a way t keep them from getting here I would be for it but I see no way to do it.
  6. Alecia is now 25 almost 26. It was a long time ago.
  7. the father of the baby was 16 and when he found out they were having a baby he got a job and they have never asked my parents for anything.I was 17 and my husband was 14 when our first was born. Jose got a job and took care of us, granted he worked in his parents restaurant he was still supporting his family.
  8. I am #8 of 11 an I never saw my older siblings watching the younger and I have four myself and My older children only watch the younger for 2 hours a day which is the difference between when they get home from school and I get home from work. I never had hand me downs unless I wanted something one of my older sisters was throwing away. I fight with my oldest daughter because she is always wearing her little sisters clothes . There is always time for a hug or a kind word. Each child was recognized for their accomplishments My brothers in sports my sisters in what ever it was they were good at.There were never only 11 kids in my home we all had friends over. My dad was not home much but he was out saving our country and training troops in the ARMY. I had a wonderful life full of love and understanding from my mother and older siblings. My parents were young when they had their first and old when they had their last. My siblings range in age from 43-5 and I would not send any of them back, but when my oldest brother did go back to his maker I was heart broken and I miss him every day. Yes there are a lot of us and things were not always fun but I was never alone. I agree that it is not for everyone but as long as you can take care of them with no help from the government the I am all for it. I love all of my siblings, Mercer, Melody, Mernecia, Marnie, Renee, Dorian, John David, Seraphima, Saphronia, and Kieran. I love all of my nieces and nephews, Alecia, Andrea, Buddy, Jacob, Jordan, Laura, Heather, Julia, Magdaleana, Michelle, Daniel, Anjolie, Donovan, Zoe, Amber, Justin. And my sisters grand kids Camrom and sarah. Which ones do parents give back? My sister was 12 when she had her first of 4 kids and you know she has taken car of the kids she has had on her own. I guess what I want to say is don't knock what you have not had. Don't judge , I think those who decide not to have a large family and can afford it are selfish people.
  9. I want to say I am one of 11 children. My father is still in the army and has supported us all of his life. He started having children when he was 15. My ldest brother died of AIDS in 1997 but if he were alive he would be 42 this year and my youngest brother is 5. I am proud to say that my parents loved a cared for all of us. I myself have four children and would have more if I could. I love all of my children and take care of them with the help of my husband. I have been on welfare to help me get through school so that I could take care of my children on my own if, God forbid, something should happen to my DH. I was well taken care of and never had hand me downs from my 4 older sisters and my 2 younger sisters never got mine. To say that a family with more than 2.5 kids is wrong is wrong and you are a person who never had the pleasure of being from a large family and feeling the love and bonding that comes from that. My mom iand dad are 59 years old and raising my 5 year old brother and my dead brothers 2 year old daughter, he died 8mo ago. Just because we are from a large family does not make us religious zelots either. I believe in God and grew up in the church. My parents just believed that they would have as many as they could provide for without any help and when they felt they could no longer do that they would stop until they could again. I thank my parents for being the kind good and loving parentd they were and for teaching me the true meaning of family.
  10. My husband and I are both smokers. I work at a hospital and it is a smoke free campus. I will smoke one on the way to work some days other days I won't. I don't have one at lunch and I don't have one until I get in my car and off the campus. As a former non-smoker that lived with smokers from birth and then married one I have always stood up for smokers rights. There is one small bar in town that I can go to if I want a drink because it is a smoking establishment. That bar is always packed with both smokers and non. The three other bars in town are empty most nights and close at 830pm. Sacramento is trying to make it illeagle to smoke in your car or house as well as all of the already banned places. If I want to kill my self with smoking that let me and if you, a non-smoker does not like it then you stay home and let us have a good time. I carry a smoke not a gun and being around my smoke for the few seconds it will take you to walk past me will not kill you but if people do not get off this kick of smokers are killing those around them I will scream. If you don't like it stay home! That is what you all expect us to do. I started smoking when my husband came home one night and told me his girlfriend was pregnant. Would you non-smokers rather I smoke or shoot drugs because at that moment I found out not only was my husband cheating but having a baby too. I needed something so I grabed his pack and lit one up.I CAN go all day without having one but when I want one I don't want to HAVE to hide when it is not illeagle to smoke yet. We, for the most part, try to think of you non-smokers and be polite, but when someone walks by being rude to me about it I get rude back.
  11. I to am a NASCAR fan. I TIVO everything from qualifying to victory lane. My whole family knows not to mess with me fri-sun. I gave birth to my youngest daughter on a sunday and was watching the race while I was pushig her out. The Dr. tried to turn it off but my husband warned him not to.Dale Earnhardt was my fave but after he passed I moved on to Jr. and Smoke.
  12. I am not for late term abortions and do not agree with abortions at all. I do believe a woman has a right to choose what she does with her body but when a baby is involved it is a little different. I have had an abortion and it killed me to do it but my daughter had a lot of health problems and would not have come to term. In fact her heartbeat was so slow they did not know if she would live through the week. I stll celebrate what was her due date, feb 9, 1992. My sister just had to go through the same thing for the same reason. I had a hard time helping her through it because I never have gotten over mine. It is a hard thing for anyone to do if they have a conscience like me. I can say I would do it all over again because my daughter was suffering. Robin:cry

  17. It is good for me to hear from people who are having a good experiance with this because I tend to look on the bad side of things. i need the pos.
  18. Thank you so much. I don't know what to think of all of this. I am so overwhelmed. I have been directed to a site where there are all of these horror stories about the procedure and the failure rate. something around 43% after 5 years will have put the weight back on. I hope we are all not in that percentage. God willing
  19. Hi all I was just recommended for surgery 3/3/07. I am so excited and cannot wait. I know this is the right decision but I am a bit scared as well. My goal weight is 150, the average weight for a persoon is 124-159, I am 5'6". I have DDD and my right knee is working its way to bone on bone. Loosing the weight will help both.
