  1. Thanks for the reply. I am new at this whole computer thing, so it was nice to actually get a reply. I made it through the surgery and have had no gas pain. I was prepared for that, and so far, nothing. I am on day 4 and haven't had any pain meds today. I am VERY sore over the incision where the port was placed. Kind of a buring pain, but if I move slowly, I can deal with it.
  2. I had the surgery on the 15th of November. The doctor was an hour late getting to the hospital, so I had an hour of sitting there. Luckily, my sister was able to come back and wait with me. The whole procedure lasted a little over an hour. I was on a pain pump the first 24 hours, then released home on a liquid pain med. The pain actually isn't very bad. I was really expecting horrible gas pain, as many people have said that they have had. I haven't had any. I guess I am very lucky. I am just a bit confused on how much I am supposed to eat. I understand that I am to have approx. 50 grams of protein a day, but I don't understand how I am supposed to get it, being on limited liquids. I would love to hear from anyone with any suggestions. :clap2:
  3. Hello everyone. I just found this website. I really wish I had found it earlier. I am scheduled to have the lap band surgery Thursday, November 15. I am having it done in Phoenix, even though I live in Tucson. I have to have it in Phoenix due to insurance coverage. My surgeon is Dr. Hilario Juarez.:faint: I am feeling really scared......yet excited. I am scared about the pain after the surgery. On the otherhand, I am excited to embark on this new chapter of life. I would love to hear from anyone who has had the procedure and their experiences.
