    Two weeks post surgery

Congratulations! You are on your way!
  2. Ok, fairly new here... and trying to figure out what is NSV? Googled it and came up with No-Scalpel Vasectomy, National Socialist Vanguard, Net Sales Value,... so which is it????

    Sleevers by profession.

I am a Rural Mail Carrier, and because of heavy lifting I was told I will be out a minimum of 6 weeks. I'll be returning to work (probably) in the middle of the Christmas rush. I have the time built up and looking forward to the vacation. I am also an artist/photographer wannabe and hoping to spend that time working on my passion. In a previous life I was a 911 dispatcher for 10 years... glad that's behind me.

So, how often are you going?

I asked the NUT, because I tend to get constipated every time I diet. She said Metamucil.

    Cereal

My list from the NUT says that I can add cold cereal (less than 5gr sugar per serving, like fiber one, rice krispies, cheerios, and cornflakes on Day 28.
  6. When I first started this process I went to the OBGYN for my appointment. I hadn't taken the pill in 2 years, hoping to stop my periods. She refused to give me the pill stating that "probably" would not get pregnant at my age. Then I told her I was getting the surgery, and she started writing the prescription for the pill. I'm like what? She said, you lose a ton of weight then pop out an egg, get pregnant and come up here and shoot me... you are getting the pill!

    REJECTED!

When I first started dating my husband I had just lost weight over the last year, was working out and looking pretty good. I wasn't at goal, never could make it that far. I was 200, and he knew I had worked hard. I knew he was a keeper when he said I'd still love you if you gained it back and more... it doesn't matter what you weight... I love you. My husband wears a size 29. I ended up gaining and worked hard to get down before the wedding, but was 230. Recently I was 287, but have lost a little. Hoping to have the surgery in October. He is supportive. What he said when we were dating means the world to me. I have went through a very stressful 2 years after our marriage. It isn't my husband, it is his kids and family and extreme circumstances. I think that is how I have gained to be my highest ever. During all the stress, I kept trying to diet and my hubby even said don't worry so much about it. Now he blames himself somewhat for me gaining, we eat out a lot, he loves to cook... I accept the blame, except what I can throw towards his kids and hateful family. I do not want any of them to know I am having this surgery. They have been mean, and I know they have made fun of my weight. His daughter practically called me a fat cow on facebook. If you stay with this guy, this will always be in between you. You will always worry if I gain a pound he will leave, and he might. There are too many great men out there. Some may not have been attracted to you if you were the original weight, but once they fall for you, they will stand beside you. He isn't judging you for you or your heart, but you need to judge him for his heart. If he could be this hurtful this early in the game, I am sure he could be much more hurtful later.

    Georgia Sleevers

I am approved and have scheduled with the other surgeon... but, I am trying to call and see what I can do to use Dr. Macik. I went to his orientation, he is the one that talked me into the sleeve, I was totally going for RNY. I'm just concerned about a brand new doctor. I guess if Kaiser says no to Macik, I will go with the new guy. If they had told me I would be with him in the first place it would be so traumatic. I have heard Dr. Macik for months now. I just hope the other doctor knows what he's doing.

I did get approved, but received an e-mail from the Endo stating call Dr. Lytle at Kaiser Bariatrics. Kaiser doesn't have a bariatrics dept, they use Dr. Macik. I went to Dr. Maciks orientation per my Endos request. The NUT gave me all the info from Dr. Macik last week, and she said she had just attended a meeting with Dr. Macik... I called the NUT and left a message. I called and tried to get the nurse for Endo to call me, and I even tried calling Dr. Maciks office... everyone had left for the holiday I guess. I did find out, that Kaiser Atlanta just hired in the last 2 weeks a Dr. Lytle... and he will be doing my surgery. YIKES... this guy is fresh out of med school and I can't find hardly anything on him online. I was told that if my Endo was willing to go to the surgical board I could possibly use Macik - but that could take forever.

I live in Conyers, but I'm from Covington, graduated Newton County in 1984 (many moons ago). Dr. Macik is also my doctor - so we have alot in common! I went to my last psychiatrist appointment today, and he said the endocronologist had called him looking for my approval letter. He is susposed to send today. Then I received an e-mail from the endocronologist saying that he was waiting on the letter from behavioral health. I hopefully will be approved by the end of the week. WOOO HOOO!

    Georgia Sleevers

I just got cleared from the NUT, and hopefully will be cleared from the Psychiatrist today and approved by Friday through the endocronologist. The NUT told me to call her Friday and see if he signed off, and then I can make the appointment with Macik. I did go to the Orientation in August and was thinking of going to the support group in September at Northside. Macik said as soon as I get an appt with him, I can get scheduled in about 30 days, I really want an October date. Where do you live now, still in the Atlanta area??? Will be nice to have someone with the same surgeon to talk to!
