  1. Kelly, girl I was thinking about you yesterday. I dont have anything to add, but I am strongly leaning to Penni's theory as being correct. What did Spiegel say about this? Did he recommend a reflux prescription from your pcp? Im kinda the same way... Im in need of a slight fill. I can eat aything, even bread! But Im still having reflux issues, so I know that it wouldnt be a good thing with getting a fill. ((hugs)) hope you are feeling better real soon! Ill try giving you a call later today.

Penni, my heart goes out to Jan. That is so very hard to watch (death process) - especially when its someone you deeply love. My goodness, youve been dealing with such bad news lately - seems like this has been going on for several months. ((Hugs)) to you and your friend... and I will remember Jans mom! God bless.
  3. LOVED loved L O V E D the pic!!!!! Thats gonna be a great 'before' photo! Oh, and you two are the cutiest couple! BTW... can I have your hair???
  4. Hi Becky! Each doctor is different on their 'rules' for adjustments! My doctor allows fills every 4 weeks.... BUT!!!! lots of us gain restriction 4-6 weeks after a fill, so I would recommend waiting at least 6 weeks (or even 8 weeks) before getting another one. Here is a great site that helps lots of us answer the "golden" question as to whether or not we are ready for an adjustment... http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm
  5. Ive had coffee since day 3. Never had problems with it! But I also agree with Kathy. If you find that it aggitates your stomach, you may want to switch to hot coca until you get further down the banded road! Good luck!
  6. Oh yes, Im in the water challenge for you, Kathy! Gosh, things are getting better and better every time I come check on you! Praise God!
  7. Hi Becky - Congratulations on getting started early! You get a big LBT hug for that... This is so normal! But just remember that this transformation will be a little longer then other WLS's. Good luck & God bless!

Hi Sandra, Welcome to LBT!!!! Ive heard of people getting hiccups as a sign that their pouch is full! Its true... I think our La Madame/Michelle gets this signal.
  9. Yeah Dallasdoll! Welcome to the Bandwagon! Hope you have a wonderful and successful journey!
  10. Yeeaahhh! (sigh of relief) Kathy - so happy to have a fairly positive update fom you! Getting hydrated may have been the biggest aid in this battle. SOOOO glad you went to the ER! So very glad!
  11. I got a pm from canadian - giving me the receipe for chinese dumplings! This sounds too good to keep to myself, so I wanted to share it with everyone else! well it was my own little version of chinese dumplingsi took some napa cabbage and boiled the leaves till they were soft enough to fold(like a cabbage roll) then i set them in cold Water to firm them up again then i mixed lb of ground chicken green onions a bit of salt some seasame seeds (not to much) hoisen sauce (bout 2 tbsp) 1 egg 2 tbsp of flour and if u like the zip 1 thai chili seeds out and chopped real fine, if u can't find a thai chili, use a jalapeno or a scotch bonnet then i mixed it all together and cut each cabbage leaf in half to make 2 dumplings i used a tbsp or 2 of the mix then roll up the dumplings they should be no bigger then the size of a golf ball then i steamed them in a steamer basket for 10 mins and dipped them in red pepper jelly that i warmed up real tasty hope you try them.... iamcanadian25 p.s- i'm a cook by trade..lol...let me know if u like this recipe and if u want some more this one was very band friendly

  14. (((Penni))) gosh girl! You are awesome! She's the only mom you'll ever have... so do what you can for her - you'll NEVER regret it!!! God bless you I was scrolling through the threads lastnight and thought about you and your mom - wondered how everything was going.... SO glad you updated us!

  19. Canadian & Crystal....YUM! What in the world is chinese dumplings? and rootbeer popsicle? mmmmm, I love rootbeer! Bandit - you cheated! doesnt matter who cooked it, I bet it was delish!
  20. Thanks everyone. I hate to encourge or discourage this surgery... I want it to be her decision totally. For any of us that has been on every kind of diet known to man - its so very hard to mentally conceive the idea that something (WLS) can actually give permanent weightloss. She's still thinking about it!
  21. What was for supper tonight??
  22. ((hugs)) Im so excited for you! Its gonna be here before you know! I remember when Jamie posted her 12 day surgery countdown thread... and look how long ago that was!
  23. Happy Birthday Marie! Hope youre having a great one!
  24. "He said to take Prilosec twice a day" Kathy, ((hugs)) girl, Ive truly been out of the loop for the last few days. My goodness, I had no idea this was going on! Be careful when taking this prilosec - please crush well before taking it! Also, I remember you attempting the v-8 juice several threads ago. Hang on to that thought for now... tomatoes are very acidic and can cause stomach irritation. Remember: fruit is the easiest food for our tummy to digest. IF you feel that you can try something other than broth or tea, then try a natural fruit drink - the ones that come in a single can, like pear necter. And drink it room temp - not refrigerated! This is very nourshing - AND easy for our digestive system. I will definately pray for you tonight.... so sorry to hear this!
  25. Lauren, when did you get this new fill? My surgeon ask us to stay on liquids for 2 days, then 2 days mushy food following a fill. I remember it was a whole week before I could tolerate regular food after my last fill. So take it slow and easy - our tummy's are very swollen and sore from this adjustment. What kind of "soft" foods are you having?
