Paul, in my initial post, I wrote (then deleted) that it seemed like an Amway type of thing. I deleted b/c I didnt want to offend any Amway members. But yeah, thats what I was thinking - the pyramid type of marketing/money making/getting people under you - stuff. I dont like that - Not my thing. Amen Kathy! Guess this is why I never liked this type of thing. Im nOt a good salesman - too honest. And for everyone else - NO! Im NOT looking for vitamins/herbs/mineral suppliments. Im happy doing my own thing. I was just worried that I was missing out on something....

Anyone ever heard of this? http://www.herbalife.com/hl/templates/templatepreportal/herbalife/index.jsp Here's the story... There's a couple from our church that we've been having casual 'Howdey' talk with. Nothing personal. Lastnight I met the wife in Walmart. She started talking to me about Herbalife - they are distributers for it. :tired Ive never even heard of this - I actually thought it was Metabolife, the old herbal diet pill. She corrected me - AND - listed many of the WONDERS Herbalife has done for her and her family (I hate people like that) one of her poke's is that she dropped 60 pounds when she started using Herbalife. Best yet, she informed me that her husband is ALSO a Personal Fitness Consultant . Looking back over the sales-pitch, its funny that she shared HOW much money they make, could make, will make, blah-blah-blah... she talked about money MORE then how awesome the product (Herbalife) is. That was weird. Anyway, what's up with this Herbalife stuff?? Anyone familear with it?
  3. Hi tee, and :welcome: to LBT. The food stages are a little hard in the beginning, but soon you will start eating real food - and things will be better, we promise. :biggrin1:
  4. Hi and :welcome: to LBT. Dont worry, each phase passes quickly(really, it does). If you spend any time around here - it'll pass REAL quick :eek . Lots of good reading in the archives - tips and ideas on how to make each phase easier to deal with. Good luck, the 18th will be here in a flash!
  5. Hi, you 3! How lucky ya'll are to have each other for support. Thats awesome! ((hugs)) and prayers for a safe surgery and trip home. God bless.
  6. OMGoodness, You got 3rd place??? and HOW many contestants were there??? This is fantastic! WooooHooo!! What a major boost of self-esteem... Look out Ms. America! Go Nana, Go Nana, Go Nana...
  7. yep! Youre in the club now. Its kinda like a negative reinforcement to do the right thing while eating. Although its kinda late to tell you this now, but - after a 'PB' try sticking to liquids for a while. It gives our esophagus time to heal. Welcome to the PB club.:biggrin1:
  8. Donna Marie (Hey - thats my MIL's name) Guess what? Our band dates are the same! July 5th - but 2 years ago for me. So, WELCOME to the bandwagon! YES! After I was banded, I remember having dreams of eating. I remember waking myself up from chewing and swallowing. Thankfully this phase didnt last long. Once you begin the tastier - more textured foods, it willl get better. Good luck!
  9. *This is definately NOT a stupid question.* Im thinking 4 weeks too. This question has been asked around here before. Try doing a search to see what others have said in the past. or... you could always call your surgeon and get it straight from the horses mouth. If you decide to go swimming and wear your new slim -n- sleek bikini, remember - we want pix :biggrin1:
  10. Hey Shontel, Im just now reading this... How's the foamy throat stuff going? Im a little concerned about the amount of fill you received - it seems like a lot for a second fill. You may be a little over filled - only time will tell. If the foamy stuff continues or symptoms get worst, please get an unfill, k?
  11. Hi Darcy Hope you had an awesome day! :happybday:
  12. OMG! John, this is HORRIBLE! Did the man ever understand that you were fussing at the dog and not his wife? I think you won the prize for the most adverturous Saturday night! Get well soon!
  13. Hey Kat - locking the towel cabnet is a good one. It reminded me of the time I didnt clean my bathroom after the MANY demands from my parents to do it. Came home late one night to find a pad lock on my bathroom door! The entire bathroom - not just the cabnet - locked tight. *Memories* ((or maybe we're giving ideas??)) And yes, in our house we use our towel more then once.
  14. Something that I would NEVER do before weightloss is look at men (not related to me) in the EYES. I would just make eye contact then look away or down or something. But now I make total eye contact with everyone - including men - and I smile. Something about the eye connection thing that has changed for me. Lots of those mentioned above are also different now.
  15. How funny - but I completely understand! Looks like someone pulled out your air tube - and you deflated. :biggrin1:
  16. WooHoo Mary, GREAT Job! You ARE a real LapBand success. Im gonna keep checking this thread for the updated clothing pix.... just keeping my eye on you, Ms Mary! ((((psst, we LOVE pix :biggrin1:)))
  17. :cheer2: Yee-HaW - Terri's in Onederland! :cheer2:  :grouphug: And your feet are NOT ugly! They are cute - like YOU!
  18. Im reluctant to mention this, but could you be pregnant? :nervous Please update us, we're worried about you!
  19. I *H A T E* searching for things on the web - toooooooo many choices. Could you please explain to the weak ones (me!) what cortisol levels mean to the body? Seems like it would be easy for the 'skilled' to find a brain tumor?? You know Crys., Im sorry that YOU are going though this, but it makes me wonder HOW many others are dealing with similear symptoms and have NO idea what is really going on in their body.
  20. Another bit of information that we may want to include is the name of our surgeon. For some reason Im thinking the surgeons TECHNIQUE has something to do with it.
  21. Ive had SEVERAL Laser hair removal treatments at $100 - $200 a session. Thats serious cash around my house. It kills the hairs that are present - so Im hair free for about 2 months?? Then bam! The growth cycle starts again and its time for more treatments. I waited 9 months between treatments (due to sunning) and became SO upset at the amount of facial hair that had re-surfaced. Yes, there was a small reduction from my initial visit - but all the money/time Ive spent on this project, I feel like the info surrounding the Laser treatments are a little misleading... its NOT permanent. So???? Now Im interested in electrolysis. If all of this malarky is only temporary, then I need to save my $$ and go with a treatment thats more cost efficient. Am I making sense? Questions I have (along with Penni's): Can you have this done with a suntan (unlike the lasering)? Has anyone been seriously scarred from it? How many treatments are usually needed to maintain a hair-free area?
  22. Eileen, YES! I remember that poll. Did a mod. move it? Ive noticed that the majority of us that suffer with reflux seem to develope it after a couple of fills - thats why I thought a 6 month vetern bandster would be "experienced" enough to re-vote. It may even be a good idea for us to re-do this poll periodically.... ??? just a thought.
  23. Seppi, I still have my *3* cups of morning coffee - daily. Im not giving up my coffee Some nights I have reflux, some I dont. For me - it depends on what i eat for supper (or very late in the evening). I avoid anything tomato based in the afternoon - and also alcohol. These 2 things cause me to have reflux - Along with other things, but these come to mind. Also, about the water... sometimes Ill drink a glass of milk at night and it HELPS - SOMETIMES! The thickness of the milk seems to wash any undigested food through.
  24. PLEASE only vote if youve been banded 6 months or longer. Ive noticed that there have been in increasing number of bandsters having Reflux/Gerd problems. This may be a more commen problem in post banding then what our surgeons are aware of.
  25. :usa: Happy 4th of July everyone!:usa: Telly, youre amazing Girl! 12 miles???? We're going to my parents later - celebrating my sister's B-day. Mom is cooking a FEAST (brisquit, rice dressing & more). Swimming, fireworks, food and Family! What better way is there to spend this day? (just hope the sun stays out - theyre predicting R A I N ) God bless all of you. Have a safe day!
