  1. i gained about 4 lbs when i got to eat real food as i wasnt having enough Protein and had too much food period...with some poor choices. so i got back on the wagon. my dr should clear me for regular (using core, etc) exercise this tuesday. I have lost it almost all back again but like you, i was so mad at myself. i went back to journaling. considering i had been really good till last 1.5 weeks, i guess it just shows..willpower still counts! :) and setting good habit. I am enjoying losing weight and getting into lower clothes sizes, rediscovering my real face, etc to stop now. deb :)

  2. my left shoulder pain came later..and was a result of drinking too fast..however yours sounds more like anesthesia gas dispursing..i feel for you if it feels anything like mine..felt like someone was stabbing me. ours were probably from different causes..if it were instead referred gas (intestinal, not anesthesia, ( gas x dissovable strips and walking should help. if it doesn't i would call your surgeon's office and see what they say deb

  3. my dr and his nurse told me he does not put any saline in the band, but it already has some usually around 2-3 cc's. However, the surgery makes the site swollen and the band it still there but usually not acting as restrictive as it would be. you should call your surgeons office..they will tell you if they filled the band as some do. deb

  4. I spoke to my dietitian who does nothing but lapband for the last several years because a friend who had gastric bypass was told only 24-27 gms Protein at a time. Me, hating liquid shakes was doubling up adding some extra Water, freezing x 1 hr, then putting in fridge to thaw out. (tastes better to me). she said there was not a problem with me doing that and doubling up means 54 gms protein for my shakes. so you should be okay. deb

  5. i also briefly experienced buyers remorse and i was doing well. most of my adjustments came week after surgery as i work a desk job and had to make adjustments to increase movement, to time my meals (shakes)etc. I am slowly adding foods and am down 25 lbs. I am counting the days till i can have my Atkins Peanut Butter chocolate Meal Replacement bars again..yummy..and this is from someone who hated any type of shakes, esp meal replacement shakes or bars. I am reading mindless eating and ordering bandwagon cookery. It fells strange to have food be of such lesser importance in my life..but also good. Hang in there! It is worth it..you will feel better, look better be healthier. walk walk walk! deb

  6. my md's office did almost everything..i was just pushy and kept in contact with my insurance casemgr. i did not have have any supervised wt loss sessions..each insurance is different. most require a psych visit, documenation that shows you have tried many other methods and either succeeded and gained back frequently or were not able to lose the weight, dietitian visit, and my md dr Keith mcEwen in Noblesville, IN included an exercise physiologist, though it was not required. to me, picking the right surgeon was crucial! I would think your md's office will work on this. you can contact your insurance company and ask them what the stipulations are for you. deb
