  1. LesbianDad30 , sometimes the best diet & medicine Don’t control reflux, I assure you that. I’ve taken the best & cheapest reflux meds they’re only temporary fix . But back to stats the Bypass has best weight loss success rate & but out for many yrs before sleeve.i have many friends on here, co -workers & ppl I’ve met whom agree with bypass stats..as we know each person is different & btw I never knew I had reflux until testing before surgery, also some I have tried foods that shouldn’t bother/agitate my reflux but they do six yrs later after continued monitoring.. to each their own but do your research throughly before making a major surgical decision.

  2. Hi Ladies,

OK my surgery date is October 5, 2015 (yeah!) and my wedding date is December 5, 2015 - exactly 2 months!! I'm having a revision from the band to the bypass. I realize that the dress I have now will have to be scrapped as I will probably lose too much as it is full of beads and appliques - way too expensive to pay the seamstress to re-do...but I will need to find another wedding dress soon!

How much could I potentially lose if following all the rules? I understand that weight loss varies depending on so much. My BMI is at 38 now. I understand that the loss might not be as fast the 2nd time and with a lower BMI.

Any thoughts or experiences? I didn't have rapid lost at all with the band so I don't know what to expect.

    Thank you!

just let seamstress know you may lose 30lbs by wedding time

  3. I decided to give up alcohol 2 1/2yrs ago which was when i started the process, until this day i have no desire to drink alcohol . Im a much happier person w / no alchol & wilk continue this way, but i was a serious drinker before surgery process..

  4. So, I knew that most of the plastics I will need/want aren't covered by insurance, but I never even considered that leave for surgery would not be covered under FMLA. Does anyone have experience with this? My entire department is being bought by a large national company in September and I am hoping to be able to have plastics done in the fall of 2016, but I can't take the chance that they will not hold my job for a month and that I won't be covered by insurance! I need to know some personal experiences with this please. I am trying to plan way ahead and know what to expect / battles that will need fighting. Thanks!

what types of skin surgery are you wanting? I know of a few covered by insurance companies. .

  5. I'm 100 pounds into a 300-pound weight loss adventure, and I'm having the same problem everyone who's ever lost a large amount of weight has struggled with: excess skin. Instead of a spare tire around my middle, I have two floppy inner tubes separated by a waist. Above my belly button, I have lumpy cottage cheese skin that's not a problem other than appearance (which doesn't bother me yet and is easily fixed with shapewear) and frequent yeast infections in my belly button (which is easily fixed with antifungal cream). My lower apron, though, is really heavy, and since I'm still over 350, it's still an actual, full fat roll. It hangs down between panniculus level 1 and level 2, so not extreme yet. I think the problem is more the weight than the size.

My question is, how do the rest of you ladies find comfortable underwear once the loose skin starts to become an issue? For years I've been wearing Just My Size cotton briefs, but the ones I have now are so stretched out they don't fit properly and they're so threadbare I've had to throw some out. I guess they've changed their patterns and their material, though, because the new ones I've bought do not fit properly and the material doesn't have any "give" to it at all. I've tried my usual size, a larger size, and a smaller size, and none of them fit comfortably. I want something that tucks under my tummy pooch, because I recently got an office job and now spend a large part of my day sitting in a chair with my apron spread across my lap, and here in Missouri where the humidity is already 95% and the heat index is "only" 100 degrees Fahrenheit, having heavy bare skin laying against another layer of bare skin is even less comfortable than it sounds. Plus, the crotch is too short and narrow, which is a different kind of uncomfortable, and the leg elastic stretching across my belly is itchy and irritating and makes my stomach bunch up in weird lumps. (I haven't started wearing lower Shapewear yet but in this heat, shapewear isn't really an option.) I've also tried Hanes and Woman Within, but had a similar fit issue.

I don't care what it looks like as long as it fits comfortably. I usually dress casually in jeans, so they don't have to be seamless or non-clingy or anything, but I do need something that's easy to move around in, do light exercise in, and sit in (my days are varied and I usually don't have an opportunity to change my underwear between activities). I tried boy shorts a few years ago but otherwise I usually wear briefs. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

try using Vagisil powder rub into hands & sprinkle into panties/pants.. also if skin is that low at apron area your local plastic surgeon can recommend to insurance & usually they pay for it even medicare/medicaid pay for it =skin removal. .good luck!! Breast reduction also usually covered ...
