  1. If you have children you will relate to this. Sometimes when my kids were little and if the were sick they would want to eat which just made them more sick. They couldn't tell if they were hungry or if they had a stomach ache. Since this stomach is totally new to us maybe we are like kids in that we just haven't learned to tell the difference yet.

I think it was just my body adapting bc I don't feel like that anymore. Goodness was that a testament of my mind over stomach. I won!

  2. I would have to agree with Lipstick Lady. Having such a small stomach doesn't allow for you to eat as you once did. I'm only 2 weeks out so the addiction is still there but the sleeve is doing its job. Yes you do have to have will power, but it's so much easier to resist temptation. I have gone out to lunch and dinner at some of my favorite places and watched as other ate bread sticks and appetizers and it was hard. But I have made it through with no regrets.

In fact when I am done eating and feel full I still get that guilty feeling. Then I take a few minutes and remember I didn't eat anything bad for me. It's a good feeling.

  3. You need Protein. You're probably starting on stage 2 now' date=' right? What really helped me in soft foods was pureeing chicken (it sounds and looks gross, but if you add marinara sauce or something to it, it's pretty good!), or even tuna. Try to get maybe 2-3 oz in and if you're hungry later, eat again. Jello is good too...[/quote']

Thanks. I have been on purée for a week now. I'm doing my best to get my Water and Protein in, but I know I'm not hitting my goal. I am not eating anything bad for me, haven't cheated once. I liked it better yesterday when 3 bites made me full. Lol

  4. Hard to admit this but here goes: Weight at start of the insurance approval process on Nov 1' date=' 2012 was - 453 lbs I've always been heavy, about 350 for a long time. Couldn't believe I had gotten that high, but limited mobility due to a serious car accident in 2010 and Depression did a number on me and eating was my distraction and comfort I guess. Weight at date of surgery on June 4, 2013 - 371 pounds. 82 lbs lost in 8 months pre surgery Current weight 305 lbs - 66 pounds lost since surgery 4 months ago. Total lost since starting all this - 148 pounds with much more to go but I'm determined!![/quote']

Keep it up, you are doing great.

  5. I got my approval on sept 19th - via a phone call as the mail piece didn't come until a couple weeks after that. I just called after a week and they had it all approved - horray! I actually don't live in IL I live in Utah. My company just uses bcbsil - probably because our HQ is located right outside of Chicago - in Riverwoods. Have you gotten your approval?

Yes I'm getting sleeved at noon. I had a super fast approval. BCBSIL is great.
