    Preop testing

Ok....I had a cold and a cough on the day of my first surgery date AND my second date. I was told to NOT do surgery unless I was 100%. I was taking Claratin to dry my nose up and my RN said it was not safe. I don't know any science behind it, just what I was told. She said there was a chance of aspiration while I was under anaesthesia.....once again just saying what I was told. Ask your doctor if you are Ok for surgery first. I hope everything works out for you. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

  5. I have PCOS and it sounds like you do too. Do you have body hair or facial hair issues? Acne? Irritable often? Extreme cramps? These are questions for you to ask yourself.....none of my business, lol.....but birth control, metformin, and spironalactone are the typical treatment combo for it. Metformin is even for when you are not diabetic and the other two also have different uses for people with PCOS. You will have it a lot harder trying to lose weight with PCOS and treatment is essential to get your health and weight loss going in the right direction. If you do have it, holding off on treatment would be counterproductive and not a good idea for weight loss. Ask your gynecologist because they will have better information than a general physician. 8. Im just curious if anyone has added GENEPRO with a regular liquid Protein shake. I keep reading everyone's struggle to get protein and was thinking about "fortifying" a shake with powder to increase protein per serving. Thoughts?? Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

    Mixing protein supplements

I never thought about being able to absorb only so much. Maybe I would do this if I am seriously having trouble getting enough Protein in the beginning and space it out. Thanks for the article too. Just when I think I finally know it all lol. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

    Asking God for direction

Thank you for your responses. I am searching for the answers, maybe too much? I will continue to pray and try to be open and aware of Gods message or convictions. I REALLY do appreciate all of your comments. I feel very isolated in my journey at home and hearing from believers who also have been through this process is comforting. Thank you. 11. I am having a major problem and internal conflict about getting sleeve revision surgery. First I was scheduled for December 16th but it was postponed until the 30th because I was sick. Then on the 29th my surgery got postponed to "later" because I got sick again. The funny thing is I was fine for Christmas and thought I was better. Now Im hacking up a lung....Yay. I have been blessed with being able to enroll in my last semester of college, spending time with my kids....and a lot of personal stuff I know are blessings and not coincidences.....and I thought my sleeve too was a "gift". Lately have been getting signs or thinking Im getting signs that Im going to die with this surgery. I know it sounds crazy, but my sister said she had the same feeling. There are more specific details I don't feel like explaining, but its making me miserable. I am praying (Christian/Catholic btw) for guidance and just want some outside opinions. Am I just regular-surgery-nervous or is God telling me No? Or just wait a while? I know God wont reply to this post, lol....but any thoughts would help me, I think. Thanks. I have the Flu

Pedialyte used to have popsicles or you can make some. If its gentle enough for a baby it should be OK for an adult and has electrolytes etc. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

Insurance coverage of band to sleeve?

Depends on the insurance, but I have Blue Cross in CA, through the NASI union benefits and I have a slipped band (banded 2009) and was approved for a sleeve revisions surgery at the standard percentage of coverage for my plan. It is possible but a lot of insurance out there and its hard to give a blanket answer. Maybe if you said what insurance you had someone else might have specific information for you. Good luck! Piercings

Anyone have surgery experience with a nose ring? Plastic plug? Keep it in? Take it all out? I REALLY dont want my nose to close up, its been years. It does close fast too. If I ever get my surgery, I was wondering about that. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

    Depression

I was scheduled for sleeve surgery Dec 16th but it was postponed until the 30th because I was sick. Now my surgery is postponed until whenever because I am sick again. Im so depressed I feel hopeless. I dont want to live like this anymore. Maybe God doesn't want me to have this surgery. Oh please let me get it and be OK! I ate everything in the house today. I know that does nothing good. I can barely get off the couch I am so miserable. I hate myself. I hate my life. I don't want to die but I am in Hell. Just venting. So sad its hard to breathe. 16. I am having sleeve surgery Dec 30th. I have been getting very nervous and upset by reading so many people are feeling starving after surgery???? WTH? Logically you arent eating so you're hungry, but what is the surgery for then? And "head hunger?" Is that just a way you feel before you are used to starving??? Very unsettling feeling right now. When will I not be hungry? Is it just because I can kill myself by eating that makes you not eat? Someone tell me something good please! Be real though. Thanks. Weight Gain After Sleeve?

I would believe her if they had lapbands but it would be more difficult to believe that about the sleeve or bypass. It is possible but it takes a long time of screwing up to regain all and more. The lapband sucks though! You are in control of your head but the damn band fluctuates whenever it feels like it....time if day, stress, weather the green zone is there or not. Wasted time surgery and misery on that POS. Thats just my experience though. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

How are you managing hunger post op?

@@theantichick Thanks for the valuable experience information. I am seriously nervous, like you said, that I will be the one person that keeps getting hungry all the time. Did you get a PPI from the doctor or use an over the counter medicine? Im thinking about getting some early just in case? Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

Ok, I get it...."skinny shaming" jealousy?? But cutting your stomach out for 20....ish lbs?? I would KILL to look like her. I am being petty or not compassionate, but I can almost guarantee that if bullies took a look at me and her I would be the one reviled. When I was in the Army a BMI of 30 was acceptable for active duty for a female my age etc. I have a hard time seeing this person as a "candidate" for surgery when I see me and a lot of others on this site who have debilitating weight issues. Im not a doctor, I have just got my own personal opinion and I no it is harsh. But I am FAT and miserable. I don't know what she is thinking. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
