I am 6 weeks post op. During the pre op diet, I lost 17 pounds. Since then, I feel like (and according to my mom, look like) I have lost inches but gained 3 pounds. I don't understand? I have an appointment today to discuss this terrible port site pain I've gotten the last few days.

Don't weigh yourself! Weight loss can be measured in other ways like inches, how your clothes fit etc. also, you only lose about 1-2 lbs a week. Sometimes you'll gain a pound or trip just because of Water retention. Throw the scale in the closet and don't focus on the number.Good luck on your journey and try not to become too frustrated!

I was banded 08/29. I have only lost 17 pounds (I last was weighed when I went for my first fill) However, when I look in the mirror, I can SEE that I'm losing inches and my clothes fit better. I just wish I could be losing pounds as fast as I am losing inches

I am 3 weeks post op and from when I started my pre op diet until now, I had lost 17 lbs. I weighed myself this morning and I have gained 3. I have followed the doctors instructions and diet very closely :-(

So I went to my doctor this past Thursday, he asked me about my bm and I told him. He told me to use Miralax. I was put on a new diet for week two, it's more than just liquids now. NOW I'm super constipated, can't wait until tomorrow. Gonna ask about something stronger

Hi all- Im still pre-op but wondering why the shoulder pain and shortness of breath? The shoulder pain is from the gas they pump into your stomach to help place the band and the shortness of breath is just getting used to breathing with the pressure of the band

I had my surgery on the 29th! You got banded the day I started my pre op surgery. How are you feeling?

And I feel amazing!! But I'm almost worried that I feel so great do soon after surgery. I see that others are still struggling at this point and I feel like there is something wrong with me. Yeah I'm not 100% but I'd say I'm in the 90 percent. Gah

So I have always had a problem with bowel movements. I get constipated really really easily. I haven't had a bowl movement since before my surgery. (I am 5 days post op) Is it okay to take some stool softeners/laxatives? If so, how many should I take? Before surgery I would have to take up to 7 capsules to even budge a little bit. I'm really scared to take too many.

Thanks good all your feedback! I'm feeling really great today so I'm sure we'll be good to go by the 20th

My doctor said if it doesn't hurt' date=' go for it. I didn't have any time restriction so I think I was about 1 week post op. It didn't hurt (felt pretty good actually.... ). So my opinion is go for it.[/quote']Did you find a certain position more comfortable than the rest? You don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable!

This morning I woke with a tiny bit of annoying shoulder pain but only because I slept wrong. Today I am able to lay on my side and my tummy without any gas pain at all!! I coughed this morning and it wasn't very bad and I'm able to laugh without a pillow over my stomach/port area. I am walking faster and feel great! These may seem little but they are HUGE to me. :-)

I'm sorry to ask so many personal questions but I'm just really curious. I'm 4 days post op and my boyfriend and I have our one year anniversary in 19 days and I was wondering: How long did you ladies wait before you had sex? Is 3 weeks is enough time? Is Did it hurt? What positions did you find the most comfortable?

We waited 4 days post op. We were careful and gentle. Now at 2 weeks post op...totally normal. Just go slow till you know how you feelWas there any pain when you did it that soon after? I want to but I'm nervous that it'll hurt or what position would be most comfortable?

I took gas x for the first time today and helped soooo much.
How often should I take them? I have only had one today

Yeah I'm TERRIBLE at following my own advice lol but I haven't weighed myself since my last fill, that was about 2 weeks ago. I will weigh myself at the dr today.
