  1. I suspected I had a hernia and was right. That repair is where most of my pain is coming from now 4 days post op,
  2. Better. Had some tomato bisque soup for lunch and having the rest of my mashed potatoes (1/4 cup) tonight. Got full after 4 bites of soup today and have stayed full for 4 hours. I know soon the swelling will go down and the hunger will kick in sooner. I have my 6 day post op tomorrow so I am hoping to at least be down a few lbs.
  3. Just hold on a little longer. I am newly banded but really followed my doc orders because i fought to have this surgery and didn't want to mess anything up.

  6. I suspected I had a hernia but wasn't 100% sure. The surgeon said it was huge. I am feeling ok. Not as sore today and sure everyday will be better. Gonna take some milk of magnesia tomorrow to try and regulate things a little :/
  7. Banded on Friday and had a super gnarly hiatal hernia and I am freaking sore! I am one tough chick but this hurts. I am also supposed to be starting full liquids today and am almost scared to. I feel my tummy rumble a little but I don't know if it's hunger or gas. I had maybe 1/4 cup of thinned cream of wheat the morning and a 1/8 cup thinned pudding with a scoop of protein just now. I am terrified of throwing up. Any advice?
  8. Today is day 4 post op. Really the oh pain I have is on my largest incision because that is where he went in to repair the "huge" hiatal hernia. Been taking liquid lortab maybe twice a day, going to try and not take it tonight, just this morning. Having a hard time getting in enough water. Get really full with just a couple sips.
  9. My port is about an inch below my sternum.
  10. Was banded yesterday morning and had a huge hiatal hernia. I am in quite a bit of pain especially from the hernia repair. I am also terrified that if I cough my band will slip or something will go wrong. Can anyone reassure me?
  11. Surgery went good. Did have a hiatal hernia repair so I am pretty sore. Clear fluids till Monday and then full liquids. So glad I stayed one night in the hospital because that hernia repair really hurts. Shoulder/ chest gas pain is somewhat better. Trying to walk so I can get it all out!
  12. Headed to the hospital now. Surgery in about two hours. Sooo nervous and excited to start my new healthy lifestyle
  13. I am getting banded in Friday at 7 am. The nerves are really kicking in now.
  14. Good luck everyone, I am right behind you on Friday!
  15. Surgery on Friday. Can't believe it's actually happening!
  16. People with uncontrollable diabetes get lap band every day. You'll be just fine. :-)
  17. I am 11 days from surgery but have had a few surgeries this last year. It's usually bloodwork, and EKG and them just asking questions about your medications and general health stuff.
  18. I have thyroid cancer. I am doing treatment while getting my band but I know how hard it is to lose weight with a messed up thyroid. :-)
  19. I am being banded on September 27th and would love an accountability partner or two. I am 27 and have been married 7 1/2 years and work at my church. (This feels a lot like an E harmony ad). I like long walks on the beach and drinking piña coladas. Hahaha.
  20. I would LOVE to be band buddies since you're from my hometown! :-) I so need accountability partners in all this.
