  1. Today I had a couple chicken strips and 5-6 French fries and for the first time since surgery I have some mild heartburn, I am 3 weeks out. I had a very bad hiatal hernia and haven't had any heartburn at all since surgery. Does heartburn always indicate a slip or dialated pouch? My follow up is in 10 days but I a little worried. Newbie nerves I guess.
  2. Thanks everyone. I feel really great. Can't wait to hit goal!!
  3. So I have always been an all or nothing kind of girl and I can't wait to get back to my crazy gym routine! 6 weeks seems like such a long time to wait before getting back to spin, running, lifting and crossfit. I am a gym addict and this is killing me. I have been walking some, but it feels so unfulfilling. Did anyone else have this long of a wait to get back to the gym?
  4. Add some salsa and black beans. Yummy!!!
  5. I found some pics from about 6 years ago when I was at my heaviest. I have lost 110lbs all together and am excited to use the tool that is my lapband to get the final 80lbs off!!
  6. I am 16 days post op and down 18 lbs. I have cut processed carbs for the most part and even before the band when I did that I would lose quickly. That being said I really believe as others have said the first month to six weeks should be about healing, and learning how you'll feed your new body. :-)
  7. Thanks so much for the reply. It scared me! Lol
  8. I kept waking up on my stomach thru the night. Can sleeping on my stomach have messed anything up since I am only 2 weeks post op?
  9. Isn't the green zone being full for 4 hours on 1/2 of food?
  10. I doubt I will pass on it, just depends on what the doc says. I am losing about a 1/2 to a full pound a day. So nice and steady.
  11. I am transitioned back onto "normal" foods and doing great. Eating 1/2 cup portions and finding this is all coming very naturally now. I automatically set aside or throw away half my food and eat a band size portion and feel satisfied. I know the band is still new to my body but I can honestly say this is the best decision I ever made for myself! Scheduled for my first fill at the end of the month but not so sure I need one since I am losing steadily and am satisfied. Guess we will see.
  12. I find it not to hard. Unless we are out to eat and then it's much more difficult.
  13. Went really good. I had about 1/4 cup of chicken and 6-7 fried green beans. I find I am way hungrier at night where as in the morning it takes me 2-3 hours to get down a 16 oz protein shake. I know fried green beans may not have been the healthiest choice but I still was at about 800 calories for the day.
  14. Hubby took me to dinner tonight and the waitress really thought something was wrong because it took me 40 minutes to eat 6 green beans and 3 oz of pulled chicken. Lol! I had to keep telling her everything was fine.
  15. I am a few days shy of two weeks post op and am on soft/mushies and cleared to start regular foods.
  16. I can eat about 1/2 cup of packed food. Less of solids though. I got about 1/4 cup chili down last night. Headed out with the hubby for a dinner date to a BBQ place. Planning on pulled chicken and green beans.
  17. Lol. It's not like a fart noise though. Just rumbly
  18. Tried my first semi solid meal tonight. Chili from Quiznos, measured 1/2 cup could only eat about half of it and was hiccuping so I figured I was done eating. Now my stomach is making some crazy noises. Like rumbly, grumbling, kinda gurgling no pain just noise. Is this normal or is my body not liking solids??
  19. One of the reasons I chose lapband is because i could not imagine willingly having my intestines rerouted or half my stomach cut away and thrown in the garbage. The malabsorption issues scared me too.
  20. Little Caesars is my crack! My husband knows I may have to kill him and bury the body if he wats that in front of me. Lol! Kidding (sort of).
  21. I have heard pintos and cheese from Taco Bell or taco johns is supposed to be a decent quick protein.
