    Awaiting approval, nervous, anxious.

Hi Michelle, I had my band removed in October and GB on November 10th..after severe reflux and Gerd, my band was un filled and of course I gained the majority of my weight back. One huge difference is nothing gets stuck any more! But after 6 weeks I have not had any issues of overeating, because your stomach is literally the size of a walnut. And if you force your self to eat more, you probably will experience the "dumping syndrome"which is a bad from what I understand. Don't worry you will be fine...for me it is so much better than the band! Good luck hope this helps you some.
  2. Wow that an interesting one! I had to have my band removed 1st then 6 weeks later my surgeon did the bypass. I'm in NYC also but I never heard of that process, but all the best and good luck, please keep us posted as to your decision. Thanks
  3. Hi I had my band removed in October due to severe GERD, just had the bypass on 11-10-14....they waited 6 weeks before doing my bypass for my stomach to heal. When they 1st took the band out, it felt great to eat whatever I wanted, at least temporarily, until bypass. No vomiting or reflux, now that I'm about 10 day after, it's definitely takes me back to 2011 when I 1st got my band and the stages. But I'm 15 lbs down so far and I think patients like you & I have the benefit of hindsight. We have been through the journey already so I don't think we will make the same mistakes twice! So good luck with everything !!
