Ryan, I have been in a state of euphoria ever since I had surgery. I am just giddy with the thought that I have actually done something so important for myself. I keep reminding myself that eventually my band will benefit my DH as well. But for now, that band is MINE, ALL MINE!!!

    Thanks, LisaG! You're a doll!!!!
  3. WooHoo!!! What a lucky break!!! I wonder why I didn't have to see a shrink? I definitely need one, LOL!!!
  4. LOL!!!! I swear that drawing is of me!!!
  5. Leatha, you are such an inspiration to me!!!! You have done such an awesome job and you are beautiful!!!
  6. My surgeon gave me a form letter to give to my PCP so that all she had to do was basically fill in the blanks. I wish I would have kept a copy. I did see a post somewhere on this forum where someone posted a link to something like that, but I can't find it now. Anyway, I guess the easier you make it for your PCP, the better your chances are of getting the letter. I took all my documentation with me to prove to the PCP that this is something I really need. I also took my "Don't you dare argue with me" attitude, LOL!!! Though, I don't know that it helped any. Good luck!
  7. Zoe, I'm afraid that will be my case too. But, Sarah, a girl can dream...LOL!
  8. My entire building had our first annual chili cookoff today. I have spent the last 1 1/2 hours sampling chili and all the fixings and numerous deserts. I feel like I could just POP!!! :rolleyes I can almost eat as much as pre-band. I'm pretty sure that I am going to be one of those who has to get a fill immediately after the initial 6 weeks. Anyways, at least no one suspected anything and I am still a closet bandster. However, I can tell it's gonna be pretty tricky keeping the secret around here. Our building gets together for lunch a few times each year, but our department usually goes out to lunch together at least once per month. I know as I get fills and restriction there will be some raised eyebrows around the table, afterall, they are used to seeing me scarf down everything in sight! Anybody else in the closet long term? And what do you say to when someone asks if you are ok because you hardly eat anything?
  9. LOL!!! Ryan you are such a HOOT!!!

  16. Yeah, Ryan!!!! :banana :banana :banana Congratulations!!! I am so glad it has been easy for you. I promise it just gets better every day! You are so right that those not yet banded are going through the hardest part. But it is so worth it to hang in there. Keep us posted on how you're doing!

:knockedou Ya'll are all so sweet! I'm kinda leaning toward #2 because it seems to look a little more like the real me. But then #3 is just me expressionless. But, as an avatar, #2 might make me look like a smartass, LOL! Oh, heck! I just can't decide! Zoe and Delarla, the bootie thing is Willie's newest hit. It's a HOOT!!!! But believe me, I have PLENTY of bootie!!! LOL! I know by some standards, I may be considered a light weight, but I think if I were 'normal' size, I would be pretty small. I'm hoping to lose at least 80lbs.

(Moderator's Note: This thread contains pictures of Blossom. Sadly, she passed away 03/12/05. But these pictures remain as a testament to her.) I hope this works! LisaG, I probably need your help, LOL!!! I took several pics of me for my avatar and I can't decide which one to use, so I'm gonna let ya'll decide! Let me know which one you prefer!
  23. Thanks, Becky!

Hi, WillPower! Yeah, things really are getting back to normal for me. Nearly all of my soreness is gone, I can even sneeze with no pain! Today, I am wearing pants that I truly thought I would not get to wear again. However, my appetite is returning with a vengence. I am still on softs, but I can eat a lot. I am hoping when I add some solids I won't be able to eat so much. Other than that, I feel great!!!
