  1. WillPower, where the heck have ya been??? Sounds like you've been busy. YUM! I wanna come visit your kitchen!
  2. LOL!!!! Us Texas gals must look like such wimps to those of you in the REALLY cold regions! I could not even imagine what -4F would feel like...
  3. Buy yourself a present! After all, you're probably buying presents for everyone else about now, why not a little something for yourself. What's your passion? Mine is gardening, so this is a great time for me to look for some great sales at the nurseries on non-holiday stuff.
  4. Well, the last I heard before I left for work this morning, it was 28* here. Brrrrrrrr..... Good thing I turned the heater on in the greenhouse last nite!!!
  5. Well, Merry Christmas!!! Your excitement is contagious and I am excited for you. Good luck!
  6. Nope, no restriction here! I think I will give it about 3 weeks to kick in and if I still don't have any restriction I will ask for another fill. Unless you think I should ask sooner?
  7. Ok, so what funny new Christmas songs have you heard so far??? I just hear one called Santa Lost a Ho! LOL!!!
  8. Thank you, Leatha! That is so beautiful. Merry Christmas to you!!!

  10. You look beautiful, dahling!!!
  11. It sure wasn't what I was expecting though. I had to actually register and be admitted to the hospital (on paper only). They even put a bracelet on me!! Anyone else have to do that? What should take only a few minutes to accomplish took up a half day for me! Sheesh!! The dr deadened the area and swabbed it all down with iodine. They had some sort of x-ray machine (flouro?) hovering over me so they could see my port on a screen, then she used a paper clip, of all things, to mark the spot where she needed to stick the needle. The fill was a 2 needle process. There was this big needle with a port type thing on one end and she stuck the other end into my port. Then she injected the needle port with 1cc of saline. I have seen fills done on TV 3 times and none of them were like that. On TV, the dr had a large syringe of saline and just did a straight injection into the patient's port. Simple. I feel like I have a redneck lapband!
  12. Good luck, Theresa Marie!!! We'll be thinking of you!
  13. Ccongratulations, Jenn! Good luck with your recovery.
  14. Please tell Patty to post to us!!! We would love to have her join in the conversation!!
  15. Fight, Leatha, fight!!! Marie, I hope you made all the calls and got that rating off your report.
  16. Yep, Lisa! I think it's time to start avoiding her like the plague! Either consciously or sub-consciously she does not want you to lose weight. As long as she can look at someone larger than herself, she can keep telling herself that her problem is not that bad. But she knows in her heart that the minute you become smaller than her, she will have to face some hard realities. It's important for you to remember that THAT is her problem! You have enough to deal with right now without her issues with food, too. If I were in your shoes, I would likely become a Royal Bitch to her in order to keep her away, but that's just me, LOL! Good luck!
  17. Tereasa!!! What an inspiration you are!!! Way to go, girl!!!
  18. I have to pay 10% of everything, so I got a bill for the anesthesiologist for $128, then the bill from the hospital (with that huge detailed list of all the things I can't remember if I got or not) for almost $1400. I have to go back to the hospital next Monday for my first fill (fills are supposed to be included with my surgery fee, according to the seminar my dr had on July 31), I was told I would have to go to the hospital early so I could get registered. This means they are planning to charge my insurance again and another 10% will come out of my pocket. DH is not happy...
  19. Not me, I'm still waiting!!! Yes, Nancy it is a book that Dr. Ortiz wrote about the LapBand. There was a post somewhere on this board that had a link to order it, but I don't remember which one.
  20. Congratulations, Tracey!
  21. Wow, Lauri!!! If you keep this up, your gonna be a skinny girl before you get banded!!!

Congratulations, Tim!!! Welcome to bandland!!! As for the protein drinks, you really should call your dr and follow only his instructions.
  23. Lauri, sweetie, your weightloss should be for YOU! It is YOUR health and YOUR life you are trying to save with your weightloss efforts. Try telling yourself that often and BELIEVE it! Once you get that straight in your head, the rest will fall into place. This is one of the hardest things I have ever learned to do, and I still struggle with it, but it is soooo important.
  24. Sally, high blood pressure and knee-joint/arthritis issues ARE co-morbidities.
