Largest amount of fill in a 4cc band
blossom replied to Chris S. - L.I.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep!!! This sounds exactly like where I am right now! Last week I couldn't eat that much, but this week I can. I can soooo feel your frustration in the excerpt!!! I'm gonna give it a couple of weeks so I can get through PMS and M and just make sure my fill isn't just being fickle like it has for some others, then I am scheduling another fill. -

Shelly, my dr will do a fill every 2 weeks also. I am going to ask for more fill pretty soon, it will be my fourth. I still think your experience will be great for him to read though, since he is fairly new at this. I keep getting the feeling from him that he just doesn't believe me when I say I don't have restriction. The last time I saw him, he said he wanted me to write down every single thing I eat so that I could show it to him, even though I had told him what I had been eating. I'm not doing it. I have been on a journaling diet in the past that didn't work for me. I got the lapband so that I wouldn't have to do this kind of BS any more. With a lapband, it's SUPPOSED to be about RESTRICTION. I didn't get it so that I could go on another diet. I'm hoping your story will help me to make him understand that some people have a problem getting the restiction they need. -

OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!! I am jumping up and down for joy to find someone like me!!! I was filled to 3cc's on Jan. 11 and after a week I can't feel much restriction anymore. I had a swallow and everything looked fine when they did the fill under flouro. Shellyj, thank you so much for sharing your experience and Chris S., thanks for posting the question. I am printing this out to show my dr. -
Pat, I haven't PB'd yet either, but I have definitely had that golf ball and slime, can't breathe thing a few times. Scares my dh silly, LOL!!! Unfortunately, my fill seems to be leaving me this week...

Seems it took 4-6 weeks for my approval. I have UHC POS Choice Plus.

Happy Birthday to all!!!

If you gained weight, I think you definitely should schedule a fill. Especially since you can eat more than you should.

Paula, sounds like we're in the same boat. I am not as restricted as I was last week either. I figure I am going to hold off a couple of weeks just to see what happens during PMS and then maybe request another fill. I'm almost afraid to ask for another one since the last time I saw my dr I was really in his face about my frustrations with this band. He probably thinks I'm a nutcase!!!

Mmmmmmm...... I can't think of anything I'd rather eat in the summer!

Clartiin -D is there a liquid form or would Mucinex work for my problem....

You could always try a nasal spray. I use Nasacort(sp) AQ and it usually works pretty well. -
Pat, I'm so glad it went better for you this time. I hope this fill is all you will need for a while! Paula, are you hungry today?
-
Bobby, I'm right there with you!!! I struggle with types of food and portion size every time I eat. I have only had restriction for one week and had to fight like hell to finally get it. I feel like I could have just a tad more fill and would be at my sweet spot, but like you, I am going to give it a little time to see if I can learn how to work with what I have.

OMG!!!! This morning were getting ready to go to the stock show, so I was trying to decide which jeans to put on when I ran across my size 16 Lee's. I haven't been able to wear them in almost 2 years, but this morning they slid right on with no problems!!! I can't believe I'm finally seeing a result from having this lapband!!!

OMG!!! Don't ever try southern cooking up north. It just doesn't work!!! On Sunday, I made Beans and cornbread with pickled okra on the side. YUM!!!
-
Congratulations and welcome to bandland! It really does get better every day.
-
Congratulations, Rachel!!!! I'm excited for you!
-
Paula, I have had restriction for one week. It sounds much like you described, trouble is, the scale isn't moving for me either. However, I did get into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in ages...

Wow! That's great! You know things have really changed when your own sister doesn't recognize you, LOL!!
-
WooHoo!!! Congratulations and Happy Belated Birthday!
-
Emmy, I get those very same hiccup(s)! Mine happen several times a day, and not while I am eating, so I know it is not my stop sign. I have notice, though, that it seems to usually be 30 minutes to an hour after I have eaten. I am not worried about it. My band is in perfect position according to my last flouro. I just think of it as my band talking to me, sorta letting me know it's there, LOL!

There is something in the air...PLEASE HELP!!
blossom replied to melissalee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Melissa, Sorry to hear about your Grandmother. You've been given some great advice, so I really don't have anything to add except that bbq brisket has been a problem for me, too. I can only eat it chopped and with lots of bbq sauce, and even then I have to take it easy...
