Nasty!! Lol. The first several were black, runny and a lot of it. It didn't take long for them to be back to normal though.
Mine were too, started same day of surgery. I was surprised I thought it would be days before having a BM. They had to send off a sample just to make sure I didn't have an infection or something wrong. But it lasted two full days and it was a lot! About five days after still runny Not black though.

I hope you get everything under control soon! Everything you are going to sounds very scary, sending thoughts your way I hope you have your strength back soon.Hey everybody. I wanted to let you all what all has happened. First my esophagus had shrunk and needed opened. However things did not get better for me in fact they got worse. I just came back from a five day hospital stay. I was diagnosed with starvation ketosis. Basically my body was sitting down and acid was raising in my blood and my co2 levels dropped. It was also affecting my kidneys. This is extremely rare to happen to someone who has had weight loss surgery gene why it wasn't caught for three months. I was told I work be struggling with this for the rest of my life because my body cannot handle not eating the foods I'm not appear to be eating. (Carbs and sugars) things should be manageable once I can have bread wraps and Pasta but that will not be until close to the end of summer until then I was told to eat as many cards as I can and I am to have it in every meal. I am no longer be allowed to have sugar free things and I must start putting sugar in my diet. I also need to eat more small meals. I was told if this is not put under control it will lead to kidney/liver failure, comatose, and possible death. I have lost my job do to the fact my body is too weak to handle such a physical job. I have a very long road ahead of me. Thank you to everyone who replied to my post. Nj

I also use Fage it seem like the best choice low sugar, low carbs, high protein! I first tried it with PB2 and Almond Roca SF Torani, it was tasty. Today I used French vanilla SF Torani loved it! I had tried to add some baby food fruit Apple banana & strawberry but it was edible then I added the French vanilla and loved it!
It doesn't bother me, I just stir it back in. But if it did, I'd have a hard time eating it.

I've started adding a couple teaspoons of Peanut Butter, equal, and a little sugar free Torani caramel Syrup to my Fage 0%, and I LOVE it!

My was Clear Liquids ( something you can see through) for up to day 8, broth, herbal tea (no caffeine) Jello SF ( no red) and Popsicles and Water. They told me not to drink the Protein cause it could be hard on it. They want pouch to heal before you introduce too many foods.

Is anyone else having food nightmares? I dreamt that my niece who is a chef made prime rib and gave me a plate and I ate half of it before I realized OMG I can't eat this I just had surgery and now I really messed things up... I can get a blockage, tear... Then wait till I woke myself up from worrying to relief it was only a dream... To face my dream I cooked steak dinner for my Family then I was ok.

We were advised in our booklet no chewing gum because the air stretches your pouch and also if swallowed it could cause blockage. I would rather be safe than sorry.

I was told that since I do have some comorbidities, that I have nothing to worry about so long as my BMI doesnt go under 35.

I stressed so much on this, so they didn't have me do a two week diet, at the hospital the nurse was saying she has sent people home day of surgery for being under. When I got there just to be on the safe side I left my shoes and jacket on went weighed. So much relief when I weighed in ok my bmi was 37 with co-morbidity. But I know my insurance only looked at the co-morbidities as high blood pressure, sleep apnea, or diabetes.

The Dr was stumped when he got inside and said my anatomy was reversed! Took an extra hour and extra incision to find my small intestine. Had my hubby worried cause it took so much longer then expected... But I'm feeling great haven't took any pain med since the day of surgery. It made me nauseated. Just sitting here hoping the Dr makes his rounds soon and hope to get discharged today!

So close felling excited but not looking forward to drinking the magnesium of citrate... I think I may be my Doctors first robot assisted Gastric bypass patient... But I'm very confident everything will go well!
Is it possible to lose weight without surgery?

You could probably do it on your own but you would have to commit to the lifetime change. So it won't be another yo yo diet. Best of luck to both of you.
