sunnysidega got a reaction from ShastaPants in Accountability and encouragement
I would just like to be able to post my daily (or weekly) exercise just for encouragement and accountability. I will be 63 next week. My goal is to do something cardio-wise 45 minutes a day 4-5 x week. For me that will mean walking or bicycling. My band is fine but my butt is a little slow getting back in the groove. I did walk 2 1/2 miles today and it did include some hills. At this point in time I'm not interested in how fast or how far but rather doing something on a regular basis. With the cooler weather coming I will be doing some hiking in the woods. I applaud all of you who are already fit or on your way there with utilizing your band and moving your bodies. Thanks!

changed it up.......instead of doing my step aerobics today, i wanted to walk
it was like 70s, mild, slightly breezy and gorgeous (no sun) but it felt wonderful
so i got on my pink nikes and off we went...let me say walking down and then back up an incline
works your thighs..i dont care who you are, male/female old, young, fat or not..
pick up the pace and you got a helluva work out
and then off to the new char grill.......ordered me the 3 oz burger (took off bun) hub cut it up
into pieces (ate the lett/tom/on mixed with my beef pattie) and let me sy it was awesome
anyone who says they cant eat good with the band hasnt asked me....will continue to eat well, exercise and let the band do its job....
which is make me healthier each/every day......

Went out of town to Celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and got word last night my first cousin who is closer than a brother to me passed away during thyroid surgery (4 heart attacks), Needless to say it changed the tone of things and my desire to workout. Gotta get through the next few days and I will. Carry on and say a prayer or hold a good thought for my family. He was one of the good guys and way too young.

Okay, heading off to the basement for an abbreviated workout. I have 3-4 days of intense working out (for me, anyway) with a cousin -- 20 bike to warmup, 40 treadmill, 20 BowFlex -- but I need to do something on my own on these other days, even if it's just a nod in the right direction. Oh, and doing my husband's PT exercises with weights in bed each morning. After a year of thinking these look like excellent exercises for any one needing core work, I finally got my own little set of hand weights. These exercises are amazing and now he's working harder, too.

Love it! So true. I walked twice today. Once forgot my pedometer but it's like you said! Going to the mountains tomorrow for a couple days to Celebrate my 40th wedding anniversary. Hope to get some hiking in.

" What I mean my listening to my body is... when I eat I stop eating when I feel satisfied... not stuffed. I plan my dinners for week in advance and always have Snacks in the refrigerator (usually cold turkey with dip). I make sure I eat three meals a day and sometime 2 Snacks. I hardly never have "head hunger" anymore because I now know when I'm really hungry.... also because now when I eat I'm more satisfied I'm not as hungry in between meals."
I think listening to our bodies is something that is foreign to many of us and a real contributor the reasons why we ended up obese. Very good advice. And a great lesson if we all can learn it we will certainly succeed.Thank you, Tom.

I have a Winnie The Pooh core too, but I'm working on that. Got a gym membership yesterday and walked a mile on the treadmill (not that much compared to everyone else), but it was an accomplishment just to get into the gym, sign up, and go back then do a mile on the treadmill. I have that chubby girl mentality that goes along with a gym and I'm embarrassed and don't want anyone looking at me or being disgusted. But, no one even noticed me (lol). And while Winnie the Pooh is cute- I'm not going for that look lol

I hear that!! Would be nice if every once in a while we could just "hire" a stand-in but that's not how it works, is it? I wish I could do step aerobics.

Got in a 2.25 mile walk this morning with some good hills. Geez, I felt like it was farther than that but I did it. Thinking about reporting back here was my inspiration to get up and do it!
