  1. Ugh it has been hard. Anytime I swallow a sip of Water it hurts my esophagus real bad. He said there was so much scar tissue around the band that it was causing a lot of restriction and is most likely as to why I had such problems getting food down with band. This time is much more painful than when I had the band done. The jp drain I have makes it even rougher. If I can just get through theses first couple of days I'm sure it'll get better. I'll keep you updated more.

  2. Yes that is a very long time. I'm sorry you didn't get any results. I've gained since removing liquid from my band. But I was so tired of not being able to eat anything without it getting stuck. Gurl4god I bought a recliner yesterday! If I have to sleep upright then dang it I'm gonna be comfortable lol. Talked to my sister in law who had the sleeve and she said she spent nearly 2 weeks in her recliner so I decided that I probably would need one to. Did my pre registration and blood work yesterday so all I'm waiting for now is Thursday to get here.

  3. I had mine done on 2/23! I had the band without liquid for 2 years, it is alittle more complicated cause there removing all the scar tissue the port the band and un sewing it to whatever it got attached too!! Mine was a mess inside. My main complain after surgery was shoulder pain on right side from them moving stomach etc around but by day 5 I was all better slept on couch or recliner for a week and a half proped up couldn't lay flat or on my side. Liquid pain meds helped and just sipped on my stuff and did very light stuff everyday I felt better and stronger!!! :)

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I'll do as good as you by day 5. Not looking forward to weeks of liquid diet tho but it'll be worth it. I've heard alot of ppl have to sleep propped up. Why is that?

  4. I hope no complications either. I'm a pharmacy tech and am going back to work after a week. I know when I had my band I did that just fine but I'm worried about this time bc there is so much involved. But I dnt have anyone to cover for me after a week so I dnt know how that's going to go!

Bandtosleever512 let me know how you are feeling after your surgery if you feel up to it.

  5. I didn't realize how much change had happen till I started going through old pics. But I feel great and it's nice to be happy in the skin I'm in again. Some days it's hard not being able to eat what my family does, gosh I would love to be able to eat a cheese burger again but this is why u had the surgery and the sacrifice has been worth it.

  6. I would keep appealing until u got approved. What insurance do u have? Bc I have blue cross blue shield and they approved mine really quick and I'm not as over weight as some ppl. My BMI is 35 but in the past 6 months I've been put on high blood pressure, cholesterol, meds and borderline diabetic. I was actually surprised when they approved it. I really didn't think they would but my doctor was confident they would.

  7. My date is 8/14. Anyone else nervous? My surgeon only requires a few days of Clear liquids. It sounds like each surgeon has their own preferences. Anyone want to be buddies through this process? I know we can all get through the diet and surgery- we just need to think about our goals we want <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

My surgery date is the 13th, yep love to be buddies:) my dr is only requiring a week diet before. My pre op appt isn't till Wednesday so idk what kind of diet exactly yet.
