3 weeks after surgery and heartburn
I know its a sign of needing an adjustment to remove Fluid from the band, but mine is empty. I get my first fill on the 18th. Is this normal?

First almost stuck episode.
I am so afraid of that! Still on liquids so it's not a concern quite yet. My dr makes me do liquids for a few days after a fill. Maybe you should try that till the swelling goes down?

Fantastic Dr's Appt!!!!!
Awesome results! Will you be getting a fill soon?

6 day post op
Good job! I was based 2 says after you, but can't start mashies till 2 weeks after surgery. I am still on Clear Liquids for today and tomorrow, and then I can move onto slightly thicker Soups than broth, like tomato, cottage cheese, Protein shakes, yogurt. I actually had a tablespoon of yogurt yesterday and feel so guilty!

sick time
I had surgery on Thursday and I plan to return to work on Monday. I am uncomfortable sitting upright. Standing or lying is better. I sit at a desk all day so I am not sure how I will get thru the day. I really don't want to take more time off so I hope I feel better by Monday morning.

September 19
I was banded yesterday. I have gas pains and soreness in my abdomen but I feel pretty good overall. I have no appetite. I have been forcing myself to drink Water and broth. Dr has me on clear liquids for a week then I can add in things like pudding and yogurt and Protein shakes.

What is a typical day for you?
And how far out are you? I got banded today. Feeling sore and swollen, but great! I am just trying to figure out what to expect. I'll go first. Surgery day. Surgery was 7:30 am. I sipped Water before leaving the hospital and on the way home at around 11 am. I had a half a cup of tea around 2pm. I had about a cup of broth at 6pm. I just had a little Jello at 8:30pm to get the icky liquid pain killer taste out of my mouth.

hiatal hernia
I am scheduled to have surgery on 9/19. 4 weeks yay! The doctor is going to fix my hiatal hernia while he in in there. My insurance would have covered the surgery regardless but the doc said I will be getting a buy 1 get 1 free deal, with each lapband, get a free hiatal hernia repair, lol.

September 19
I am scheduled for 9/19. I am so excited. I wish it was sooner!

I got my approval and I have a date
I am so excited! I wish it was sooner, but with my hectic work schedule and the doctor taking a lot of time off for Jewish holidays, September 19 is the big day. I told my boss, even though I was leaning towards not telling anyone, and she was very supportive about it.

Telling your job
I have only told 2 coworkers who I trust. It's not so much that I don't want anyone to know I am getting lapband. But I am afraid of failing and they will judge me. I plan to use a few vacation days and get it done.

Telling your job
Did you tell your boss, coworkers, HR, or no one about your surgery? If not everyone knew, how did you handle people noticing your weight loss and changes in your eating habits?

Intro and a question about hiatal hernia.
Thanks for the reassurance. Hopefully it will be just enough discomfort to make me not want to eat so I can lose weight faster, but little enough that I am still comfortable!

Intro and a question about hiatal hernia.
Hello. I haven't had surgery yet. I just completed all the requirements of my insurance and the dr will submit to insurance this week. I am 5'7 about 238 pounds. My goal is to be 170. I am very excited for the surgery but the only aspect that makes me apprehensive is my hiatal hernia. The doctor told me he would fix that while he was doing to band. Anyone had this done with or without their surgery? Is it very painful? Any other problems you experience due to hiatal hernia repair?
