  1. i have been on several flights since getting the band and never had any issues. why would he say to take some out?
  2. i too went to day one health dr woodard my insurance paid for it all but back when i had it done in 2012 the cash price was $13,000
  3. i got the band in nov 2012 my brother had the bypass done in 2003
  4. I got the band in nov 2012 staring weight was 288 and now weigh 160 which i have maintained for over 3 years without any adjustments in my opinion the band is better than the bypass because it can be reversed you have to make changes and work at it the bypass pretty much does it for you but changing the way think about food is better in the long run i know bot have succcess and failures i also had my older brother pass away for complications of getting the bypass done
  5. lapband is great if your willing to do the work involved its not a quick fix it will take alot of effort on your part i got the band in nov 2012 and lost 110 pound and have kept it off. because i do the work i have not been back to see the dr for a fill in 3 1/2 years
  6. Can any one recomend a good dr in the Chicago(aurora) area for either lipo or a tuck for a man. im looking but dont want to puck the wrong one for the job. i was banded a almost 4 years ago and have been at my desired weight for 3(170 lbs)from 288 so i think its time to get rid of the saggy belly and love handles so any help would be appreciated
  7. my wife and i both went through dayone at kendall point sugery center with dr woodard couldnt be any happier with them or the sevice
  8. the band has worked great for my wife (80lbs) and me (100lbs) but it really does start with changes with you the band isnt a miracle fix it takes work and dedicaiton if you make some changes it will work that being said my sister had the band put in 3 years ago and hasnt lost a single pound and isnt willing to listen to any of the suggestions we give her.before you give up on maybe try to find your self a person in your local area that has the band and try to work together i believe thats why my wife and i have been sucessfull because we work together in july my wife will be 4 years and in november it will be 4 years for me. also maybe try seeing a different dr. sometimes that can make a huge difference too good luck
  9. i didnt follow the pre op diet either which i should have. i even ate a double cheese burger the day after surgery.which i knew was wrong but i will say dont get down on yourself or be mad remember everyday is a new day. just remember change will not happen over night. after a couple fills and 9 months i was at my goal weight and even had the dr take some out. now 2 1/2 years later i actuallt weigh 15 pound under my goal and havent seen the dr since. you will learn to make changes
  10. i had mine replaced at 41 at the time i talked to my dr about a resurface and he said he would not recomend it to anyone under 65 years old because the resurface in a younger person only last about 8 years needless to say i had the total done and was 100% within six months
  11. the family affair i like that my wife and i had the band done and couldnt be happier all because my older brother had it done a year before and had great results
  12. i can say for me(90lbs) and my wife(75lbs) after 2 plus years all has been ok people just dont understand that the band isnt a miricle you have to work for work and make changes my sister has had her band over a year and hasnt lost a single pound because she still has the same bad habits and she wont listen to us or her dr about making changes. i think the big issue is everyone wants the weight to just fall and thats not how you want it to be in the big picture 1-3 pounds a week until you reach your goal and you will see sucess atleast for me that has worked
  13. neither me or my wife had to do a supervised diet but they did make us both see a nutrisonist 1 time but let me tell bcbsil was a pain in the butt for me. my wife was denied and the dr was able to get it approved me i had to take it to arbitration before i was aprroved. i met several of the requirements sleep apena high blood pressure ostreo artritis and a bmi or 38.7 and still got denied the nice thing was that my drs office took care of everything i didnt even need to make a phone call
  14. my dr did1 cc at a time until we hit the sweet spot 5.5 cc which took just over 3 months then it started coming off for me and for my wife it was about about 2 months at 3.5 cc
  15. ask you dr mine said it is fine in moderation. i love venti carmel mocciattos
  16. i would say that is great you dont want to lose too much too fast and for me i didint loose anything the first 3 months until the dr found the sweet spot with the fills
  17. That's funny I set the 200 pound goal for myself since I'm 6-1 I figured for my frame it a good weight and losing the extra is was just to see how I feel
  18. i went to the dr the other day and weighed in at 185 and since I have surpassed my goal by 15 pounds he actually did an un fill he took out 1/2cc so I will stop losing but he told me to be careful because a lot of people the get some out gain a lot of weight real quick so if I start to gain get in to see him right away and he will put a little back in the nice thing was he told me not to be embarrassed if I gain he said he understand and he is here with me for the long haul and we will get it right it has been a week and im holding steady
  19. no pics but i just did what most people do. gave up pop and fast foods but i have to admit i still have my junk food reeses and ice cream once a week i think giving up the stuff you love completely is a bad idea i now can just have a few bites and put it down for a later time.where before i would eat it all until it was gone much i have.also help that my wife had the lapband done also so we are doing it together she is down 60 pounds
  20. i went to my dr today for a pre op physicle for and knee replacement and weighed in at 200 pounds and the dr said that he thinks i should not loose anymore weight also did pre op blood work all my level are now good and no more high blood pressure so my dr took me off all the meds i was taking for blood preasure, trygliserides and cholesteral so its a good day but i still think i want to loose 10 more pounds
  21. i did everything at his office i made a mistake his office is in Winfield not Wheaton call his office here is the number 6306652101 the place in oswego is just the surgery center
  22. his office is at central dupage hospital in wheaton he is also part of dayone health we just called his office and made a appt directly with him instead of going to chicago
  23. i also live in aurora dr. woodard did both mine and my wifes surgery at kendall point in oswego and he office also took care of all the insurance crap to get it approved
