  1. I'm 4 months post op and just found out I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. This will be my third child and in no way was this planned. I'm very worried! I'm worried about having a healthy baby and if my body can even handle this?!?!
  2. Update: I'm not 7 months post op and 5 months pregnant. I was 203 when I found out I was pregnant and now weigh 183. I just when in for an ultrasound and everything with the baby is good. I'm having a girl and she is doing great and her growth is right on track! I will keep everyone posted on weigh loss/grain. I hope the rest of you are doing good☺️
  3. I have had such a ruff time since finding out I'm pregnant. I will be 6 months post op this month and I'm 14 weeks pregnant. I've been in the hospital 2 times for nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. Now I'm currently on a reflex medication along with 2 nausea meds. I've had nausea since being sleeved and since becoming pregnant it's gone 10 times worse. I'm seeing my OB doctor every 2-3 weeks and they are monitoring me very closely. So far the baby is doing fine so blessed for that:) I wish all of you best of luck! Let's stay in touch ladies.

    4 months post op

So did you all have to stop taking your Bariatric vitamins and switch to prenatal vitamins? Also I'm wondering if I will be considered high risk because I'm only 4 months post op? I'm lucky if I can eat 900-1200 per day, I'm scared it's not enough? Calling my doctor tomorrow!

    I'm A Loser Now!

It was a little hard at first to get in all my liquids but this past week I've been doing much better. My incisions are still just a little painful also but I've been feeling great:)
  9. I was sleeved 2 days ago!!! Ive had very little problems and each day I'm starting to feel better:)
  10. Anyone else have a 2 week liquid diet before surgery?? I start mine the first week of Nov. and then surgery on the 20th. How are you all preparing for surgery? I'm still just trying to mentally process that this is really happening!!!! I started in Aug. and have lost 12lbs so far. What about everyone else? Did you doctor require you to start some type of diet or healthier eating plan before surgery? As I prepare myself for what's to come, I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos! I find it so inspiring to watch other people's journey and see how much progress they have made. This post has been a little all over the place but my mind is just racing with every kind of emotion you could imagine! Best of luck to you all:)
  11. I still have 3 weeks before my surgery I wanted to create a post about hair loss. As a Licensed Cosmetologist I want to share something that I haven't come across in lot of these threads. Although hair loss with this type of surgery may not be something that we can not avoid, it sure doesn't hurt to try and avoid it! We want to be healthier and skinnier and NOT bald! We all know it's important to keep your scalp clean and in good condition for proper hair growth. Using a good professional shampoo is very important, as other shampoos can cause a waxy build up that will weigh the hair down and could possibly make it fall out faster. It is important that you switch up your shampoos! Shampoos like Nioxin are great for thinning hair but if used day in and day out it will have major drying effects on the hair and scalp. It is also important that you keep your hair and scalp moisturized so a good conditioner along with a good scalp treatment is very important for maintaining a healthy scalp! Taking your Vitamins daily and meeting your Protein goal is so VERY important!!! So here is my suggestion: Scalp Manipulations! Scalp Manipulations is a technique that may help increase blood flow to the hair follicle and strengthen the roots. Warming the the scalp before the massage will help open the blood vessels which increases blood flow. The better circulation to the hair follicles may help nutrients strengthen the hair cells and encourage proper growth function. If you google Scalp Manipulations there is a site that shows your how to massage your scalp properly. So using a warm hot oil treatment and having your scalp massaged for about 10-20 once or twice a week could have huge benefits for your hair and could most defiantly slow down or stop hair loss. These are all things that you can do right at home! Also another thing to try is to put a deep conditioner in your hair, cover it with a plastic bag and blow dry it for about 3-5 minutes to warm the scalp. Then remove the bag and start massaging the scalp, it not only feels wonderful but it is so beneficial! Please do not over due and of these suggestions, 1-2 per week is enough! You can find a great deep conditioner at you local beauty supply store or make a homemade hot oil treatment right at home! Also I few things I forgot to mention above is to keep your hair trimmed regularly and back off the styling products and hot irons! Also NO tight fitting hats during this time, this decreases the blood flow to the scalp which in turn could cause more hair loss or slow it down. Hopefully you find these tips helpful:)
  12. Best wishes to you! Please keep in touch:)
