  1. Susan- do you work for a doctor in Mexico? I have come across your name on here I think?
  2. Considering Mexico but I'm just so scared that something bad will happen or I won't pick the right doctor! If anyone has had an awesome experience then please let me know with what doctor.
  3. So what if you had surgery in Mexico and there is a problem, what did you do and was it covered by them? Just wondering because I haven't read of to many having problems and was just wondering what happens if you do? Also can you fly after surgery, did it bother anyone?
  4. I have insurance that covers weight loss surgery. I just found out today that it may require a 6 month diet plan. I am barely able to qualify as of now and I'm afraid I will waist all that time and money and get denied. How was your experience? Which doctor did you use and are you happy with your results? Also if there's a problem that occurs how do you deal with that? (Where would you go) Any info would be greatly appreciated!
  5. You look awesome! Great job:)
  6. I'm currently think I'm gonna go with Team Bariatrics in Goshen, IN. They are part of IU Health. I have my first app in Aug. I'm open to new doctors, I'm currently looking for one that does the single incision procedure. Anyone know of any??
  7. Great job!!! Stories like this are so inspiring! I haven't been sleeved yet but I'm so excited to get my life back:)
  8. Sounds like you have done great! Congrats on all your weight loss. As far as the recent gain, maybe just hit the gym. I'm just starting out and haven't been sleeved yet so I can't be of more help but it's stories like yours that I find so inspiring! Thank you for sharing:)
  9. What's that, never heard of it?
  10. I have done a deit plan called Ideal Protein before thur my doctors office and they have a big selection of protein drinks that has that in it. Just google ideal protein and it should tell you where it's sold near you. It is very $$$ but everything gets mixed with water and tastes amazing! My skin glowed on this product, I'm thinking after my surgery I may start buying it again beta cause I was very impressed!

I can't wait to go into a normal store and just pick up anything and try it on! I've been daydreaming about this for so long! I think I will be a shopaholic! Lol. Ladies that have lost the weight please tell me that this actually happens?!?!
  12. I just painted my toes this past weekend, I must say it was pretty painful! I'm looking forward to painting them without struggling to work around the fat! Lol.
  13. I actually am going with Team Bariatrics which is closer to my home town but there are still a part of IU Health. My first appointment is in Aug. I can't wait!
  14. I have thought about it and maybe 3 months is a good thing... I will have more time to research and prepare! I'm hoping it will fly by. Good luck to everyone:)
  15. Congrats! Wishing you well on your journey:)
  16. That's pretty much all my insurance requires also. I just can't find a place around here that will do the surgery sooner! They can't even get me in until Aug. 7th so that's when my 3 months start. Don't really want to wait until November for surgery!
  17. One more question... Did you have to wait any certain length of time? My insurance will pay but the place I go to has a 3 month waiting period. I was wanting it done sooner then November.
  18. Thanks for the info! Good luck with your journey:)
  19. Team Bariatrics in my area requires a 3 month program before they will do weight loss surgery. My insurance will cover the costs and there is no waiting period! I'm ready to do this now rather that later! Are there doctors out there that will just do it instead of making me wait it out? Or should I just stick with what I've got step up for now, Nov. 7 is the earliest that I could get it done thur that place. I really would love to find a doctor that does the procedure thur the belly button also if anyone else has had this done and could recommend a doctor. I live in Indiana but would consider to travel in the US for the right doctor.
  20. I have seen this procedure. How did you get set up with this doctor? I in Indiana and can't find a doctor close that does the one incision procedure so I'm interested in finding a doctor that does. If you don't mind me asking how do you do your appointments with you living in another state?
  21. Many of us are overweight beacause of overeating whether its because of bordom, emotions, or just plain bad food choices. What have some of you done to change this after being sleeved? I have done so many diets and have always stopped and I'm just scared that I will start to lose once being sleeved and then gain it back. What are some tips to keeping the weight off and sticking to it! I plan on it being a lifetime change for myself and my family! Exercise and healthy eating are in my plans but there is always gonna be that fear of falling right back into my old habits. So tips please:)
  22. Thank you everyone for all of your positive feed back! Finally I feel like I'm not alone:)
  23. I attended my first Seminar this morning and schuduled my first appointment to start my weight loss journey. I'm very excited to get things started! With a BMI of 40.1 I'm barely able to do this but I've been overweight my entire life with it really spiraling out of control about 12 years ago! I'm ready to take control and get my life back. I attend my seminar alone because my family and friends don't think that I need to have weight loss surgery. I honestly have tired over the years to lose weight and keep it off and I have always lost some but then gained it all the weight back plus more! I have two kids that I would love to be more active with. Also the last couple years I have really withdrawn from family and friends because of the way I feel with being overweight. I don't feel good, I feel as if the life has been sucked right out of me. I'm trying so hard to get my family on board and tell them how I feel but I haven't had any luck with them supporting me as of yet. I feel like unless you have walked a mile in someone else's shoes then you have no room to judge. I'm not gonna stop trying to get them on my side, hopefully they see the light! I have found this site to be so positive and I feel like we all can relate to each other. I have kind of been all over the place with this thread but I feel better getting it all out:)
  24. I'm not to far from the Ft Wayne area. Just curious on what Doctors those of you in IN went with? Currently haven't chosen my doctor yet.
  25. That is a good answer! I finally found what works for me! I think I will use that one too:)
