Hey everyone! Just thought I would introduce myself. First, I would like to say thank you to everyone who is active daily on this site because you all give such great advice and are an inspiration! I attended the seminar in early April after my PCP brought up lapband around 1 year prior. Since then I decided that this is the best choice for me to take charge of my health. For knowledge and insight I have been reading the forums on here daily. I am (almost) 25 years old and in the process of doing my insurance required weigh-ins at my surgeon's office. I currently weigh 205 and am about 5'3.5. So I am considered a "low bmi" bander. I cannot lose weight during this 6 month required weigh-in phase so that is a little annoying...well I could lose weight but insurance would not cover the cost So for now I have been doing lifestyle changes to get me ready for surgery. I struggle with P.C.O.S. and that was a determining factor for me wanting to lose the weight and begin a new life (I cant wait to have babies!). My surgeon's office is thinking I will have surgery late Sept early Oct depending on how fast insurance approval happens and what not. I am excited to get this journey going and become a more healthy me! Anyways, enough with my long rant, thanks for reading!

I had hernia repair and lap band on 7-18-2013, and I remember very little about what the nurse said to me in the recovery room, I was so out of it with the morpheme, as it made me deathly ill. I am now listing it as an allergic reaction.
My surgery was done at the Surgery Clinic of Richardson, Texas, I read ahead of time and feel I know what to eat, but feel I knew very little about the amount of pain I would be in afterwards.. Each day I am feeling better.
I feel like I can tolerate more liquids than I anticipated, and I was told I had 3 cc put in during surgery..
I started this procedure at 188 and hope to get down to120 or 125, I have heard it is harder for folks to lose weight that are not morbidly obese.
I am hopeful in this new journey in my life:-)
