  1. Hi all - sorry for the graphic nature of this post. I had what seemed like diarrhea today. No pain or discomfort - just liquid. I called the doctor and he said since I am 4 days post op and on a liquid diet then bowel movements can be liquid and not to worry. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?
  2. The first couple of days after surgery I had crystal light, water, diet snapple, sugar-free jello and sugar-free Popsicles. I didn't have nausea though so I wonder if any of these will help you. What is your diet plan from your doctor?
  3. I am seriously missing my coffee. I was told I can have it again after 4 weeks from the surgery. I am counting the days!! My nutritionist said its because of the acidity in caffeinated coffee and the risk of reflux if I remember correctly.
  4. I was banded on the 26th. Went back to work today and it wasn't that bad. My boyfriend insisted on driving me to and picking me up from my office because he said I look too out of it! Brought my liquids, my clear Isopure, jello cups, and had broth for lunch. Really tired now on the way home. Bloated too but overall not a bad experience.
  5. I take Prozac with no problems. Just was instructed not to take it the day of surgery but resumed the day after.
  6. I'm glad you are feeling better and that you have a course of action! I can relate to the fear. I have had no problems drinking after my surgery on the 26th or in eating the jello or the popsicles and I'm not gulping or anything but when I think of my next food stage I get a little apprehensive. I start stage 2 on Friday which for me is fat-free milk, sugar-free pudding, yogurt, and mashed cottage cheese. I'm very excited at the same time !
  7. Can I ask what it was like when you ate too quickly? Thanks!
  8. I had a horrible headache the day before surgery, only had one day of pre-op liquid diet but it was a bad one. I got banded on the 26th and I am allowed to take some of my usual daily prescriptions. Are you having trouble with keeping things down? Best of luck!
  9. I haven't started a journal yet. I'm on clear liquids - sugar-free jello, crystal lite, sugar-free Popsicles , water of course and chicken broth. So far I'm not hungry at all. I'm making sure I get at least the minimum of 48 ounces of liquid a day.
  10. I've been lucky with the gas so far but I am only on day 2. I have the gas x strips just in case. Have you used anything that has helped? My incisions are a bit sore today. Walked around the park a bit to loosen everything up.
  11. I was also banded on the 26th and I am in the same boat as you! Just a little soreness today, a bit tighter like you said but not at all painful, just uncomfortable. So glad you have had a positive experience as I am feeling very thankful for mine! Keep in touch and let me know how you're doing! All the best!
  12. Thank you! I love this site - it's really been a great source if information and support!
  13. Hi all! I was banded this morning 7/26 and so far I'm feeling great! So thankful!
  14. Back home from surgery around 2pm this afternoon and I've been feeling good. I don't want to jinx it and I know I only had surgery this morning but I thought I'd be feeling much worse. The no-caffeine headache I had yesterday during the pre-op liquid diet (I was lucky and had only one day beforehand) was worse than any discomfort I feel today. Just tired and sipping my fluids and happy that that dreaded headache is gone. I have my pain meds and anti-nausea meds if needed. How is everyone doing? Anyone who had surgery today or yesterday? The best to you all!

  16. Good luck to all of you !! I wish you the best. Maybe we can compare notes after surgery.
  17. I'm very excited and hopeful for my surgery on the 26th! I can't wait to start feeling better and healthier. Thanks to all who post on this site - it's been a great resource pre-surgery and I know I'll be back post-surgery.
  18. Thanks! And good luck to you as well!
  19. Hi everyone ! I'm brand new to this site - have been reading and gathering useful info and inspiration which has been very helpful. I am scheduled for surgery on July 26 and I am very excited. I just had a question - I was instructed to adhere to the liquid diet the day before my surgery (and of course after the actual surgery) but I was wondering what determines if a person does a liquid diet prior to surgery for a longer period of time- as in days or weeks. I noticed some posts that talk about pre-op liquid diets. Thanks for any insight provided!
