  1. Hello onehawtgammy he's my doctor also....isn't he hot stuff :-)!!! Lol!!! Hope everything is going well for you' date=' keep in touch and i'll surely do the same![/quote']

Oooh yeah he's a Hottie! But you can tell he's rather arrogant. I'm sure we will see each other! I got a letter from Cigna yesterday saying that St Francis is not in their network but the website says it is. Also that they've approved for a ONE night stay in the hospital for 12/20. I'm gonna call them on Monday & give them the what for. Like they can tell the Dr what day he can do the surgery on?!

  2. I think you're safe. A week and a half ago would have been the 16th or 17th? Your fertile days are approx 3 days before - 3 days after you ovulate. How did you determine your ovulation date? It should be 14 days after the onset of your last period ( if you're normal, which I am not) HTH.

  3. Did you have any symptoms from the bacteria before they diagnosed you? Since the day after Christmas I've been having the rooter burp, explosive diarrhea and vomiting. It's sporadic, no common factor or pattern. I even thought maybe my husband was poisoning me. Lol. My PCP says those aren't the symptoms of H Pylori but after my treatment I only had it once. I was retested Thursday with the breath test. Waiting to hear the results. Oh, and did they try to pull a fast one on ya like they tried on me? I went to the pharm to pick up the meds & she said $593.00. I 'bout choked! She called the dr back & she changed it to generic....$12.00! Shoulda done that in the first place!

  4. I tested positive for H pylori too. I had a lot of the same symptoms you did. The bitter taste lasted for the whole 14 days I was on the meds. When I'd eat, I'd get that weird cramping too. I hope this is not TMI but I was on the potty for 40 minutes trying to pass whatever it was, almost puked while I was in there & almost fainted too every day the cramping got better though.

  5. HELP!! Had all my pre-op testing done today & meet with the surgeon in two wks. My Insurance has no requirements so they said I will most like have my surgery in November. I need help to decide which one I want to go with.

Your surgeon should recommend which one is right for you when you sit down and consult with him. I was certain that I wanted the sleeve but since I am diabetic my surgeon said gastric bypass is the way to go. He also said that with the sleeve you can realistically expect to lose 40-60% of your excess weight with bypass 60-80%.

  6. I had my psych eval today. They said to be prepared to stay 2 1/2 hours & they were right on! I had to answer a scan tron test of 567 true or false questions, some made me laugh out loud. Had my interview with the Dr. We actually got into more than I had expected about my personal life & stressors. She said it will take 2 weeks to get the results from the test. Oh an another opinion test on weight & body image but not near as long as the first one.

  7. I would like to add my two cents as I work for a company that provides prescription benefits to employers for their employees. First my company' date=' just like UHC offers "your" employer various plans, some of which may or may not have WLS benefits, (my employer different coverage for different medications). Companies such as AT&T are self insured which means they choose an insurance company offering the best administative price for an insurance package they have selected. UHC offered various packages to AT&T who in turn selects what type of plan they want to offer their employees, the plan that they will pay for the WLS or the plan that doesn't. (One will cost more then other won't). Thus, UHC doesn't make the decision whether you can have WLS your employer did. UHC then administers AT&T's account and they have to abide by the rules of the plan selected by your employer. Now if you want to blame UHC then blame them for offering the "no WLS benefit package plan" and then you can blame the next insurance company for the same exclusion because your employer will change to an insurance company that does have that exclusion as it probably will be cheater. So who made the decision regarding WLS it was your EMPLOYER, obvious they don't care if you end up in the hospital with a major stroke, ambutation because of diabetes, or a major heart attack even though it will be costing them (remember they are self insured they foot what you don't have to pay the doctors, labs, and hospital). Insurance companies just offer the packages then just charge an administative fee for the package your employer chose for you. So when you say UHC sucks it is really your employer who said NO to your surgery. So plead your case to your employer and see if they will make the exception they will be the ones paying the biggest portion for surgery. MikeInFlorida I would say when you submitted all the documentation, UHC contacted the account manager for AT&T who then contacts AT&T Corporate, presenting all your documentation, to get them to go ahead and authorize the approval. In otherwords UHC went to bat for you, but I understand they still suck. I continuously hear it from the customer's I have to deal with, it is always our fault, because their employer chose the plan they are under. That is my two cents, thanks for reading.[/quote']

I too have UHC as my primary thru Walmart. Our policy does not cover wls either. Fortunately, my DH works for FedEx and we have awesome insurance thru Cigna. When I was perusing wls years ago and was so discouraged, someone finally explained it --where I could understand--why these corporations choose to exclude wls from their insurance. Walmart (and other companies) typically have a big turnover. An associate could begin employment, wait out the waiting period, have the expensive surgery, then quit. It doesn't matter if you have comorbidities that they are going to have to treat for the rest of your life. I think they should have a rider tho, that you have to work for say, two years before they'll cover. But who am I?

  8. Hey I see you are starting your journey with the same physician! You will like Dr.Weaver she is very nice and answers all your questions...good luck to you

Yes, I did some research before I chose her and everyone said good things about her. I was going to go to Dr Woodman but I heard a lot of negative things about him and I sure don't need any of that.

My son lives in Richmond, Va & his surgery date is 8/15. He is the one that introduced me to this board and I am so glad he did. We (all of us) need this bonding.

Best wishes to you in your journey!
