  1. I work at SAMs in Memphis & we carry the Premier Protein bars now. Their shakes are by far my favorite. We only have vanilla & chocolate but I was told that Costco has strawberry too but I haven't checked that out

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

As far as the last supper idea, our NUT said clear liquids only the day before. And if there is any solid food in the bowel at all it can be dangerous & surgery will be called off. Soooo, I'd suggest doing the last supper two days before or even the night before you start your preop diet.

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

I got my date! December 6! Which also happens to be my 11th grand child's due date. I'm sure he will make his appearance a week or two before that though.

Nervous that I might be pregnant

I think you're safe. A week and a half ago would have been the 16th or 17th? Your fertile days are approx 3 days before - 3 days after you ovulate. How did you determine your ovulation date? It should be 14 days after the onset of your last period ( if you're normal, which I am not) HTH.

Oops! I re read that AFTER I posted **rotten** burp! Not rooter! Lol

    H. Pylori

Did you have any symptoms from the bacteria before they diagnosed you? Since the day after Christmas I've been having the rooter burp, explosive diarrhea and vomiting. It's sporadic, no common factor or pattern. I even thought maybe my husband was poisoning me. Lol. My PCP says those aren't the symptoms of H Pylori but after my treatment I only had it once. I was retested Thursday with the breath test. Waiting to hear the results. Oh, and did they try to pull a fast one on ya like they tried on me? I went to the pharm to pick up the meds & she said $593.00. I 'bout choked! She called the dr back & she changed it to generic....$12.00! Shoulda done that in the first place!

    H. Pylori

I tested positive for H pylori too. I had a lot of the same symptoms you did. The bitter taste lasted for the whole 14 days I was on the meds. When I'd eat, I'd get that weird cramping too. I hope this is not TMI but I was on the potty for 40 minutes trying to pass whatever it was, almost puked while I was in there & almost fainted too every day the cramping got better though.

    RNY OR SLEEVE?

Your surgeon should recommend which one is right for you when you sit down and consult with him. I was certain that I wanted the sleeve but since I am diabetic my surgeon said gastric bypass is the way to go. He also said that with the sleeve you can realistically expect to lose 40-60% of your excess weight with bypass 60-80%.

    Alcohol & post op...

My surgeon said no carbonated drinks ever because it will stretch your pouch. There were six things my psych said I can never have ever after surgery. Lets see if I can remember them all. Carbonation, alcohol, caffeine, fried foods, sugary drinks? And I can't remember the last one. Ill have to look that up.

    First appointment tomorrow!

I had my psych eval today. They said to be prepared to stay 2 1/2 hours & they were right on! I had to answer a scan tron test of 567 true or false questions, some made me laugh out loud. Had my interview with the Dr. We actually got into more than I had expected about my personal life & stressors. She said it will take 2 weeks to get the results from the test. Oh an another opinion test on weight & body image but not near as long as the first one.

    Tennessee sleevers

Yes, I did some research before I chose her and everyone said good things about her. I was going to go to Dr Woodman but I heard a lot of negative things about him and I sure don't need any of that. My son lives in Richmond, Va & his surgery date is 8/15. He is the one that introduced me to this board and I am so glad he did. We (all of us) need this bonding. Best wishes to you in your journey!

I live in Olive Branch, MS, just 3 miles south of Memphis, TN. I'm going to the initial seminar on Tuesday night to start my journey. I'm seeing Dr. Virginia Weaver at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
