  1. my pcp wrote a letter stating that i met this requirement. my insurance company has a five year requirement of proof of obesity and weight loss efforts. he hasn't even been my doctor for that long, but he wrote that letter without me even asking. any doctor that you've been seeing can do this for you. they always weigh you each visit, so they have your weight documented. it's worth asking, in my opinion.
  2. so, my mom usually goes to florida around this time every year (she's a snowbird). since i told her about my surgery, she's put off making her travel plans until after i'm sleeved. now my date has been pushed back to 11/4, and even THAT's still tentative, and she's still in nyc. i want to tell her to go to florida, because she is not able to help me here, and i don't need her to help me here. i have a live-in beau who is a fantastic caretaker, and i'm a 3hr drive away from mom. should i tell her to go to florida, or just let her continue to do whatever she wants to do?
  3. @@brendanolin34, that's my mom in a nutshell!
  4. you're doing fabulous, and look great! keep up the good work, you've got this.
  5. i really think the majority of people who come back with a "you're not that big" comment think they are giving you a compliment. i'm not telling everybody, but i have told my family and my close friends. nobody said "you don't need to do it". an eye-opener, indeed, as a previous poster stated. it also is due to the fact that i only told people who love me unconditionally and see me as a bright and well-educated person. i'm not telling ANYONE who i think has a chance of giving me bad mojo back. however, i'd be very comfortable with "all of my doctors agree that it is necessary".
  6. my surgeon requires a 4 day liquid only diet before surgery. i'm scheduled for 11/4.
  7. i am tentative for nov 4, still waiting for insurance approval.
  8. and don't forget to drink your fluids, as diarrhea can dehydrate you.
  9. why don't we just use the page that's already set up http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1008-november-2014-sleevers/ and start one post that's for "the group"? just a suggestion...
  10. You look marvelous in the picture you attached!
  11. hi, all. i'm pending insurance approval, and i just got pushed out of october by my surgeon's office because they're now all filled. sigh. tentatively scheduled for 11/4. i am so disappointed, as i was all along on track for either 10/21 or 10/28. the waiting is awful, isn't it? oh well. more time to prepare, i guess.
  12. this will be my last post in this group, as i just got off the phone with my surgeon's office and i'm now tentatively scheduled for 11/4... october is booked and i'm still pending with my insurance company. good luck to all!
  13. i'll be at harford memorial in havre de grace. where in maryland are you? i work at apg in aberdeen.
  14. just got off the phone with my insurance company to see if i was still pending, and was told that they requested more info from my surgeon on 10/11. called the surgeon and was told they are dealing with it, but now instead of either 10/21 or 10/28, i'm pushed back to 11/4. i'm sad. i'm afraid this may affect my planned trip to AZ for thanksgiving.
  15. that stinks. i just got off the phone with mine, and was told it's still pending and that they requested additional information from my doctor's office. i called the doctor's office and was told they are handling it, but that now i won't be done in october as was previously planned. totally bummed about having to wait until 11/4.
  16. did you call the insurance company? if not, do. i called mine and found out it was still pending. i'm calling again today. i don't have the same plan as you (i'm federal aetna pos) but any insurance company will answer your questions if you're patient enough to go through their "press 1 for ..." stuff.
  17. i'm still waiting for my date! it'll be either next tuesday or the tuesday after that. i'm planning on taking one week off and working from home for 3 weeks after that.
  18. Feel better soon, @@#9grammy!
  19. @@Peekboo, did you go to work today? i hope you are not going to push yourself too much too soon. it's awesome that you are feeling so well! best wishes to all who are scheduled for today!

  21. From Perryville, MD, will be sleeved either 10/21 or 10/28
  22. it's ok to whine here. just stick to your program and read other people's posts about stalls. it will make you feel better when you read through to the end where they say "stall ended!"
  23. me too! submitted to insurance, i checked and they have received it, but it's pending. a whole different kind of nervousness now than before.
  24. you look absolutely AWESOME!
